  1. The nice thing about swinging hard is that sometimes you hit the ball hard. I don't have a problem with guys swinging hard, and I'd rather have that than the Jason Kendall/Luis Castillo approach with two strikes.
  2. I think it's way too early to state with any confidence that he's sacrificing OBP for power. It's just nice to see him hitting fairly well so far, but he's had several better stretches in the past. I agree that we'll have an idea by the All-Star Break.
  3. I don't really see what this accomplishes. In the long run it really makes no difference.
  4. Well, at least Mark DiFelice looks good... ... Man.
  5. See I typed that before I saw the second replay, but I still kind of thought Janish had the ball long enough to get the out. Guess it didn't really matter.
  6. Parra once again poised for a short outing. He just nibbles too much and that pitch count escalates quickly. Frustrating.
  7. I highly doubt any decision to move Suppan out of the rotation would belong to Macha.
  8. Maybe Soup can learn a knuckler in time for his next start. He couldn't be worse than tonight.
  9. Ah! How tentative was Braun on that play? Letting Theriot score without even a throw is inexcusable.
  10. I said the same thing ennder about that pitch to Hart. It was three inches outside. Marmol is good enough without that joke strike zone.
  11. Man that was a huge run. Walking Gathright to start the inning was just maddening.
  12. Hey, it would be swell if the Brewers didn't get blown out on national tv tonight. Hopefully the offense takes the same approach as the first two games of the series and can make this a slugfest, because I'm not exactly expecting Suppan to shut down the Cubs. I'm also looking forward to hearing how little Joe Morgan knows about the Brewers.
  13. I thought of one thing against him--he seems to leave Ueck hanging with some of his jokes. I know not all Ueck's jokes are funny, but some are and what made them even better is Powell splitting his sides. Ueck cracked some the last couple games that were met with total silence, and it was a bit awkward.
  14. Yeah, I'm definitely more frustrated with the holding of Hart in the first than I am a close play at first. That and the fact that Villanueva grooved one to Soriano. Oh well. If nothing else, I'm very pleased with the offensive approach the first two games of the series.
  15. I was actually going to dig this out as well to compliment him. I like what I've heard so far for the most part, and he hasn't come off as a Cub fan to me at all this series.
  16. Yeah this hurts because they outplayed the Cubs today and they'll have a 1-2 series to show for it after Suppan gets shelled tomorrow.
  17. If this game convinces Lou to make Marmol the permanent closer... Well then I might be willing to accept the loss as a tradeoff.
  18. Well, Marmol against three righties. Not a huge fan of our chances here.
  19. So how will Carlos be on back-to-back days? At least he isn't facing the heart of the order.
