  1. Yeah Braun, Hart, Abreu would be terrible defensively. That would offset any pitching you gained and then some.

  4. There are still a handful of unsigned pitchers. Several teams don't have their rotation set yet. It will work out.
  5. I've got to make sure that youtube comes down to tape this.
  6. I thought the intro and the first half was outstanding. Overall a really good episode. THAT'S where I know you from! I saw you in the parking lot!
  7. Maybe you could just get a trough in your basement instead?
  8. I wonder how much they'd be able to get Garland for. He's the only one in that list that you can say for certain is good enough to stay in the Brewers' rotation all season (even if it's as a number four starter). If they could get him for two years at most I'd probably be interested.
  9. It seems like all the close games Wisconsin has pulled out the last few seasons are evening out this year. Bilas kept saying last night that the team doesn't have an identity yet, and that seems right. They're a mess. They aren't very good defensively and they don't have any offensive firepower. Bohannon is playing very poorly and the playing time he's getting right now is more than he deserves. If he isn't hitting shots he doesn't really bring anything to the table. Hughes is talented but can be incredibly frustrating too often. Leuer has disappeared the last month. I like what we're seeing from Jordan Taylor, but the fact that he's playing so much and getting the ball in crunch time isn't exactly a good sign. On the bright side, Marquette is really looking like a great team that is a threat for the final four. They're very enjoyable to watch; it seems like they've really taken a big step forward under Buzz.
  10. I realize you said it's just a guess, but I think that's a lot of speculation and I happen to disagree. How many times did we see Sheets lobby to stay in for an extra inning or extra batter? It always seemed to me like he wanted to stay in as long as they'd let him. Now it's Yost/Melvin's fault he was allowed to stay in for so long so many times, but if Sheets was lobbying for it too why would he be angry with them? My guess (again just a guess) is that if he has any axe to grind it's with Milwaukee media and fans for not appreciating him.
  11. And That, the best part of that is I bet as soon as that happened you thought, 'Man I have to post about this is in the pointless/dumb thoughts thread at brewerfan!'
  12. Save for the occasional very good one, the Brewers won't be seeing very many lefty relievers. They'll come in for Fielder and that will be it. I don't see why Rivera couldn't be used in the few situations this would come up.
  13. I'm very tempted to make this my new signature: "GO TO YOU TUBE AND CHECK OUT ENYA'S NEW CHRISTMAS SONG!!! JUST GO TO YOU TUBE AND CLICK ENYA!" -Pitchleague's mom
  14. Last year's team did.
  15. It was answered in a different thread... Of course I don't remember which. I believe Sam posted the official rule which indicated the Yankees would be able to sign at least one more Type A this year.
  16. And the three run homer.
  17. Yes, but this is looking at things in a vacuum in my opinion. There are other factors. Dunn is in his prime while Cameron could decline. Cameron is under contract for one more year while Dunn could be signed to a multi-year deal. Finally, Dunn's value would be much higher if he was at first base as opposed to the outfield because his bad defense wouldn't be nearly as detrimental. I'm only interested in Dunn as a first baseman though, which would make comparing Cameron and Dunn a moot point.
  18. Wow that's hilarious. I never noticed that either.
  19. Yes there aren't many teams left who would lose a first rounder by signing Sheets. It's either protected or gone already by signing a Type A. The Mets, for example, would only give up a second rounder. If the Yankees sign him, God forbid, they'd only give up a fourth.
  20. I'd be completely shocked if Dunn couldn't get more than 5 mil/year. It would be criminal to not make him an offer if that's the case.
  21. Yeah that's actually a great idea. They could sell them all off at the deadline and stock their minor league system.
  22. I wanted him back as well at anything up to 4 mil. I don't see why Julio should be expected to be better.
  23. I didn't mean to imply that I expect him to do that; I was just saying it seems possible. He's pitched full seasons in 07 and 08 and was particularly solid in 07. If the 32-start, 4.1 ERA pitcher is available in free agency it's probably Perez.
  24. No kidding. After ending the Clippers' losing streak, I almost expect them to win at Portland tonight.
