It's worth noting that Estrada has been much better as a starter, which seems strange. The Brewers have tried making a lot of AAA starters into relievers mid-season, with pretty poor results. Seems tough to change that mindset mid-season.
He's had a bad season and deserved to lose his spot. A home run today doesn't change that.I haven't seen the Braves pull Dan Uggla from their lineup and he's had a bad season overall. Sure he had the hit streak and has 28 bombs, but he's had a bad season. Should he lose his spot? Just checking.Get back to me when McGehee goes on a 1.100 OPS tear over 40 games.
You're going to get on McGehee for making an out in a 7-1 game after he hit a 2-run homer in his previous AB?He's had a bad season and deserved to lose his spot. A home run today doesn't change that.
That dude in the pink tie seems like a winner. "Look at me with my important job. I won't even take off my tie at a baseball game. I won't even loosen it. Plus, it's pink, so you know I'm confident."
They need to get Green up now so he's on the playoff roster. Josh Wilson serves no purpose. At least Counsell can still defend. Wilson hasn't even looked good defensively. That or Tim Dillard can just go back down.
It's almost impossible to predict the playoffs. The Cardinals won the World Series with 83 wins. Anyone who gets in has a decent shot... Teams like the Yankees/Phillies probably have a slightly better chance.
It would be funny if McCutchen won only because it would be the second straight year the NL MVP wasn't voted in or picked by the manager for the original All-Star roster. He's been slumping a bit lately though. He won't win it.
It's annoying because if Wolf could just learn to work with Lucroy, they wouldn't have to start Kottaras against lefties/give Lucroy days off against them. It doesn't seem to have anything to do with liking Kottaras specifically. He used Nieves when he was up. It's just not liking Lucroy for some stupid reason.
He should be playing 4-5 times a week. In center against lefties, then at second/short the rest of the time. He won't play an inning at short, which is ridiculous.
