2B Replacement: What can we realistically expect?
Oldcity replied to brettac1's topic in Transaction Rumors & Proposals
Please just call up Taylor Green and give him the job. Then still acquire Carroll and Barmes. That's my ideal scenario. -
Rickie Weeks to 15-day DL (Expected to start Sunday 9/11)
Oldcity replied to rluzinski's topic in Milwaukee Brewers Talk
My fear is that Doug gets Barmes and then plays him at second, leaving short for Yuni. -
Rickie Weeks to 15-day DL (Expected to start Sunday 9/11)
Oldcity replied to rluzinski's topic in Milwaukee Brewers Talk
I thought it looked pretty gruesome. Since he was putting no weight on it, I'd be shocked to be him back in anything under a month. I guess we'll find out if Taylor Green is in the K-Rod deal, because it makes no sense not to call him up now. -
Oh my goodness. Awesome.

Proof of the weakness of the bottom of our roster
Oldcity replied to adambr2's topic in Milwaukee Brewers Talk
The rotation has been great. The defense has been terrible, which makes the rotation look middle of the road. -
I will say that an easy first step to this would be to stop showing people in the freaking crowd during every at bat. Fox is the worst at this during the playoffs with their ultra close-ups of nervous fans, but FS Wisconsin does it too. Show me more of the positioning in between pitches instead of the fans.

Yuniesky Betancourt: What value does he bring to the team? (part 2)
Oldcity replied to Oxy's topic in Milwaukee Brewers Talk
Even if he hits .280 the rest of the season, hell, if he hits .300, his defense is still killing the team. -
Ryan has the edge in defense, health, and age over both Carroll and Furcal.
-
And there's a gaping hole for him right now.
-
Brendan Ryan is a guy I'd love to have. He'd be a huge upgrade.
-
And Green's continued success.
-
So because it isn't likely to change means we should stop pointing how stupid it is and how much it's hurting the team?
-
Bump. No reason this should be only sixth from the top of the page.
-
Who's going to stick around to watch the instructional on stretching!
-
What a stupid game.
-
Watch him hit Counsell for Betancourt... Crap for crap.
-
What a joke.
-
If the zone is the same as it was for Saito, Wilson should be good for a walk or two.
-
Screw you ump. Not a strike.
-
This ump is terrible.
-
Or just Green. Hyperbole is fun.
-
Counsell. Betancourt. McGehee. Wilson. Kotsay. One-fifth of this team has no business on a major league roster. If they miss the playoffs, the bottom 5 on the roster will be the reason why.
-
Romo is so much better than Brian Wilson.
-
How about you start pitching ahead in the count?
-
This has become a mockery.
