  1. You know, if the Frelick IF experiment is real (despite Jack's take), then he could be counted as both an IF and OF and that would possibly give them the flexibility to carry three catchers. C Contreras, Sánchez, Haase IF Hoskins, Bauers, Monasterio, Adames, Ortiz, (Frelick) OF: Frelick, Wiemer, Yelich, Mitchell, Chourio Turang and Dunn start in AAA. Then one comes up when they try to sneak Haase through waivers to Nashville. Or maybe Sánchez starts on the DL and Turang sticks in Milwaukee.
  2. Yeah, I get that, for sure. But they hired two new guys recently. And much more important, imho it's just not about the guys running the site. It's also about the community. Why not rejoin the conversation? You are missed over there. No reason we can't be part of both sites.
  3. Hi Eddie! Are you gone from BCB for good? We miss you over there. (And I promise not to stalk you!!! :) )
  4. Yeah but it smacks of the kind of trade that would come from someone who doesn't really know (or like) the team he's writing about. It's just terribly misinformed. I mean, I'd like Soto and Tatis for Colin Rea and Julio Teheran, but I'm not going to actually propose that trade. Why propose something that has zero chance of happening, unless it's for clickbait? Seriously undermines the credibility of the writer.
  5. I think the Brewers will regret trading Hiura, should they choose to do so. I see Nelson Cruz written all over this.
  6. Honestly I have to agree with critics of this trade, just focusing on the merits. It would be folly to trade Chourio, who will likely make the Brewers roster in 2024, and just OPS'd 1.165 in July in AA. Straight up for Kim, I wouldn't do that. But adding more? That makes zero sense, and the chances the Brewers would do that are zero.
  7. I definitely don't believe that. I say ease the young fellas in. Get another bat in RF and one at 3B - Frelick and Mitchell and share CF (even though both are lefty), get a Varsho type in RF and a Justin Turner type at 3B and then they rock & roll. Yelich/Adames/Winker/Contreras/Varsho/Turner/Tellez/Urias/Mitchell-Frelick. That team could go really far.
  8. If they could ship out Taylor and add a big OF bat, even on a one- or two-year deal, then they could alternate between Mitchell and Frelick in CF (too bad they're both LHHs), and still hopefully have enough to bring in another big bat at 3B or 2B. That would be pretty incredible.
  9. Also, Turang's K rate during his torrid last six weeks: 18 percent. BB rate: 14 percent.

  11. Since mid-June, Turang has been on fire - .326/.441/.465/.886. That is 6+ weeks of sustained production, 152 PAs. I think he has figured something out and is proving his critics were a bit premature in their "MLB utility only" evaluations. I agree it would be giving up on him way too soon - would be a huge mistake to move him for a rental. Much as I'd like Bell - would love to have Bell - not for Turang, unless of course they throw in Soto.
