  1. One signing of a guy who isn't getting paid big money for the next few years does not show that this owner isn't cheap.
  2. Sorry just see no way to defend a move like this.
  3. If we are in salary dump mode can we please give away talent to anyone other than our former GM.
  4. Cheap cheap cheap cheap cheap cheap cheap
  5. Taylor is a pretty good player certainly not someone to just give away when he isn't even making much money and Houser is a pretty good pitcher who wasn't exactly breaking the bank either.
  6. If we are going to just give away useful players I would really prefer not giving them away to Stearns and Cohen. Sorry but this deal makes no sense whatsoever other than us just being cheap.
  7. Can't wait to hear the MLB network tell us how good this is for the sport.
  8. If this doesn't get the small market teams to work together to demand a salary cap nothing will.
  9. Jake Bauers is most likely the Brewers opening day first baseman.
  10. To give up one of the best relievers in baseball with two years of control and a top of the rotation starter we must do better than that hypothetical Baltimore offer which isn't nearly enough.
  11. Not nearly enough for Burnes and Williams and if this team traded both of them without getting pitching back it would be disastrous.
  12. I don't believe that small market teams should ever let assets like Burnes walk for just a draft pick even if we are good at drafting. We desperately need more pitching in our system and Burnes is our way of getting that pitching.
  13. Jake Bauers is the Brewers first baseman for 24.
  14. I don't know how anyone can watch the awful swing mechanics of Wiemer and think he will ever hit enough to be useful. The defense is great but I just do not see him ever becoming a decent much less good hitter. While I wouldn't give him away I would happily trade Wiemer if the Brewers can get a good return especially if that is young pitching.
  15. After this rumor leaking out it would be extremely disappointing if a deal doesn't get done.
  16. This should be at least a 10 yr deal if it happens and is exactly the type of bold move this team needs to make.
  17. The Rangers actually have a great roster so no that argument makes no sense.
  18. The only argument for keeping Burnes and going for it is if they were willing to actually spend some money and add to this roster and we all know this ownership is far more likely to dumpster dive for guys like Bauers than add any real difference makers. With this likely being the case this isn't a championship roster so only getting a draft pick for someone like Burnes is a terrible outcome.
  19. I can't think of too many things dumber than the Brewers not trading Burnes unless somehow the value isn't there which I doubt will be the case.
  20. Big difference between being reckless like San Diego and we now know there was good reason for that and inching closer to the Oaklands of the world.
  21. At this point I see no reason why we shouldn't be selling off all of our expensive short term assets. That means Burnes has to go and Devin should also be available for the right package. We clearly aren't winning a World Series with this group so just sell everything and if we are so lucky Attanasio can cash in and sell the team for a huge profit.
  22. He most definitely is cheap and has gotten increasingly so the last few years. After the Yelich contract we haven't given any sort of big or even medium sized long term contracts to anyone. Just look at this first base situation as a great example of being ultra cheap. We traded for a cheap first baseman in Bauers that can't hit which will more than likely even take us out of the running for a guy like Santana who won't exactly break the bank. Nobody wants to hear this and a few will lob insults my way but I expect the 24 payroll to be at least 20 million less than the one we ended last season with. Attanasio has taken this franchise as far as he can financially. He was certainly an upgrade over the latter years of the Selig ownership but he just doesn't have the money to have us even competitive financially.
  23. I’d rather this sport gets a salary cap so we can compete.
  24. At this point might as well have the payroll as low as possible since this team is starting a rebuild. Definitely trade Burnes and Devin and even Freddy if the right deal presents itself.
  25. Just a stupid decision and a big indication that we are cutting payroll big time.
