  1. I doubt there is anything this team can do that would give them a real chance to beat two of Atl/Phi/LAD which is most likely the road they will have to go through to reach the world series. Last offseason was the time to try and get someone like Flaherty on a one year deal. This team isn't good enough to pillage the farm system for short term gains and with our limited payroll it really is never smart to do that which can really damage the future of the franchise.
  2. Exactly why you want to win today.
  3. He gets squeezed and it costs us 2 runs.
  4. You tend to get squeezed when you have trouble throwing strikes.
  5. Freddy was an ideal 3 behind Woodruff and Burnes but just not good enough to be a 1 on a contending team.
  6. I'd like to win this game so we should just yank him.
  7. I think paying a high price for Fedde or any other bottom of the rotation guy is just a stupid idea. We have to be realistic and see that to make it to the World Series we are going to have to beat two of Atlanta/Philadelphia/LAD and a guy like Fedde certainly does little to improve those already long odds.
  8. No no no to the thought of trading for Robert unless the cost is ridiculously low like Wiemer and Meyers or something laughable like that.
  9. The way Murphy is handling this kid is disgusting. He needs to play nearly every day either here or in AAA but this mostly platoon situation is total garbage.
  10. The team did nothing of substance to improve the rotation before the season and its why we have Freddy who is very good but inconsistent and a bunch of guys who projected to be 5th starter types. Relying on Wade Miley who was unlikely to pitch more than 120 innings or so best case scenario and Jakob Junis who hasn't pitched 150 innings in 5 years was unwise to say the least. Arnold had to have an idea that Burnes was going to be traded which was the right idea but he had no real plan to fill in the rotation adequately after Freddy. Relying on Miley, Junis, Ross who hasn't pitched in a few years and DL Hall who has been a reliever was poor planning. Still with all this said I see no reason to pay a high price for a short term starter when the chances of this team beating two of Atlanta, Philadelphia, and LA is very low.
  11. Winning the series should always be the goal but you really want to sweep a team likely to lose 110 plus games.
  12. He is not a number two on most playoff caliber teams. I still like Freddy but I liked him better when we had two better starters. Having him as our unquestioned ace with the rest of the rotation being 4s and 5s is not a great situation.
  13. Freddy is a good pitcher but when its him and four bottom of the rotation arms we need him to be better.
  14. Just shows how lucky we were to have a top three of Burnes-Woodruff-Freddy. Its a shame we did nothing to improve the lineup when we had a great rotation.
  15. If its against the Phillies thats one thing but the last thing this team needs is a short start with the best team in the league next up.
  16. Junis? That was a signing I was not in favor of.
  17. I'd feel a lot better if this team had at least signed an innings eater like Lorenzen. These short starts nearly every day are going to come back to bite us.
  18. You've got to be able to give the team 7 solid innings against this lineup. With the pitch count this high we will be lucky to get 3.
  19. How is this bullpen going to up all season pitching this many innings.
  20. Its hard to sustain success with one starting pitcher with above average stuff and everyone else being bottom of the rotation guys. The concern has to be how this bullpen will hold up consistently pitching 4 plus innings nightly.
  21. It wasn't just about money Counsell wanted out.
  22. These innings are over in 2 minutes. Brewers lineup looks lifeless tonight.
  23. I'd rather Bauers face lefties than have to watch Miller.
  24. If not paying a manager 8 million a year is being cheap its fine by me.
  25. Miam is an easy 95 loss team lets win this series.
