  1. I fully expect a double play everytime Contreras hits with a runner on and thats what we got.
  2. Everyone talks starting pitching but this team is a bat or two short especially with Contreras and Hoskins being trash the last few months (really all season for Rhys).
  3. Play Perkins everyday in CF. Its not like Mitchell is some upgrade offensively. He can spend the rest of the year in Nashville.
  4. Civale is just more of the same for this rotation. He's another starter that has average stuff at best and will be lucky to give us 5 innings or so per start.
  5. I hope Hiura does a great job with the Angels. He was always a stand up guy with this team yet people seem to have some irrational hate for him. Sadly it didn't work out for Keston here but I will always cheer for the guy as long as he isn't playing for a team in our division.
  6. The consistently short outings by the starters is catching up to this bullpen. Its not sustainable to get through 162 games with the bullpen having to cover a minimum of 4 innings nearly every night. Either the starters improve and pitch more innings or the bullpen is likely to struggle more and more.
  7. Its not much worse than paying a journeyman like Junis 7 million for nothing.
  8. So we paid Junis 7 million to be a long man and wasted money on a clearly washed up Keuchel. We could have had Flaherty for what we paid Junis and Sanchez.
  9. This constant pinch hitting for Chourio is so inexcusable and stupid.
  10. We came into the season with a rotation of Freddy and a bunch of guys who would be lucky to be decent 4th or 5th starters. There was literally no chance this rotation had of being good but getting the least innings per start is about as bad is it could be.
  11. Playing a catcher every day is never smart. The wear and tear that they take means they need days off more than any other position player. Its a reason why I would never pay any catcher big money into their mid 30s.
  12. Nah that record he broke was really important.
  13. They are a far more talented team than we are.
  14. Can someone explain why the front office thought Junis was worth 7 million. I was shocked when we gave him that much.
  15. Worst part is we are going to be stuck with him again next year since he's definitely not turning down the option.
  16. This game is totally over. Time to do something fun like stubbing my toe.
  17. I was for signing Hoskins but wish we had spent that money on Flaherty instead.
  18. Ortiz is a great return for Burnes and I would do that deal every time we sure do miss having a consistent 6 plus ining starter.
  19. Its hard to stay in contention all year when your starting rotation is averaging the least innings per start of any team in baseball.
  20. This might be an unpopular opinion but I am not willing to pay a high price for any of those guys. Bauer would be cheap and is as good as any of these guys and we can sign him tomorrow. If we refuse to go in that direction and I don't know why we would be when we were in on Aroldis Champman last season then go with what we have or whatever we can get for someone like Wiemer and EBJ. This organization has things going right for now and the future so why trade away really good prospects for short term gains. If Crochet had a longer track record as a starter I would consider a big offer for him but he has only been a starter this season so I definitely would not pay what it will cost to get him.
  21. I disagree with this soul of the team talk. All this angst over the Hader trade but lets face it we did fantastic considering we flipped Ruiz for Contreras. If these players are too mentally weak to handle an Adames departure they are not a championship team anyway. Yes keep Adames if their isn't a great offer available but if we are offered controllable starting ptching that we like Willy should go.
  22. To complete shut off any possible Adames trade is shortsighted and flat out stupid. If a team such as the Dodgers gets desperate and is willing to trade us young controllable starting pitching we would be crazy to not to a deal. Adames is definitely not going to be here next year so if we are offered the right deal we should take it.
  23. The Brewers are averaging the least innings per start of any team in baseball. There is a good chance that at some point the bullpen is going to be fried from throwing 4 plus innings on a nearly nightly basis. Sure the bullpen is a major strength but you have to question if it can remain that way when they are throwing so many innings.
  24. Its nice to get that win but Murphy should take some heat for not letting Myers pitch another inning or two. We have the least innings per start of any team in baseball and had a guy rolling through 6 innings with a low pitch count. If that is not the time to try and get 7 or even 8 innings out of a starter I don't know what is.
