  1. I'm done blaming the coaches for these awful hitters but I do want to know what happened to Urias who was a high average limited power player in the minors and is now a low 200s hitter whose only value with the bat is when he hits home runs.
  2. If they think he is a potential star I get it but how many outfielders does this team need to draft or sign from Latin America. I admit that I haven't seen any of these guys play so its hard to form an opinion about any of these players but I find it hard to believe that the best player available is always an outfielder when the Brewers pick. Pitching is always a need so no issue with picking an arm with big upside and we really need a third base prospect in the worst way so if its a close call I would hope they pick someone other than another outfielder. This organization has been pitiful when it comes to drafting position players which is proven by the fact that we don't have one homegrown everyday starting position player in our lineup. Yes we have Chourio and some other promising guys in the system but this team has done far better drafting pitching and thats the way I would go in round one.
  3. I really question what the organization is teaching these hitters. A perfect example of this is Urias whose hit tool was considered elite as a prospect yet all the guy does at the major league level is swing for the fences. He should be a consistent .300 hitter with 10-15 HRs instead of hitting near .200 with more power. You really have to wonder what is going on with a lineup that has no high average bats. Most of the lineup looks like they are getting ready for the home run derby just swinging for the fences regardless of the situation.
  4. Unless the team feels the player is far and away above the other available talent I would hate to see the Brewers draft yet another outfielder.
  5. If the argument against Hiura is that his success is unsustainable doesn't he deserve the chance to prove that he can and will continue to hit. If the team was going on pure merit Hiura would be the DH against all righties and McCutchen would sit.
  6. Where are the reports of the Brewers listening on Hader. I haven't seen any rumors but definitely think the time has come to move him.
  7. If and when he regresses as most of you expect they should send him down not when he is hitting as well as any player on the team. I too enjoy the advanced stats but when the raw stats say a player is hitting you stick with the guy until the stats change and he isn't hitting any more.
  8. This is a team that struggles to score runs so sending down the guy that has been the teams best hitter is inexcusable especially now that we have a DH spot that Hiura should be filling. The problem is we spent 8.5 million on McCutchen and they are going to use him even when Hiura is the far better hitter. I too hope that Keston goes to another team that can appreciate a good hitter.
  9. Its time to trade Hader this team just isn't good and letting him walk for nothing after next season would be stupid.
  10. He doesn't like pitching in non save situations and it showed.
  11. Just had to face this lineup to get things going.
  12. With this offensive juggernaut it makes complete sense to send Hiura who has been the best hitter on this team to AAA.
  13. I want to hear a good explanation why Hiura who has been this teams best hitter this season was sent to AAA.
  14. Pay him whatever bonuses he has since he has clearly earned them but there is no reason why he shouldn't be pitching twice this week.
  15. Sounds way too much like Ethan Small who apparently at 25 isn't good enough to beat out the likes of Alexander and Chi Chi so I would pass with seemingly limited upside.
  16. If they often lay down against bad pitchers George Costanza should pitch a shutout but call me crazy if I would still prefer Burnes over a AAAA picther.
  17. Starting Burnes on Thursday instead of Tuesday and Sunday is skipping a start with the all star break following the game on Sunday. If the team feels he needs the extra rest no problem but that means skipping the all star game or the plan makes no sense at all.
  18. For all the hate that Keston gets from most fans he has been great against righties and overall probably our best hitter this season. Let Keston be the full time DH and not just give him away for a rental.
  19. Coming up with an excuse of the Twins hit around some great pitchers so the Brewers are looking at it as a reason to start Alexander over Burnes is truly one of the craziest things I've ever heard. If Burnes needs rest and thats up to him to decide he needs to sit out the all star game not skip a start for the Brewers.
  20. If Burnes needs extra rest he should just skip the all star game altogether. Pushing a Burnes start back to throw a guy like Alexander is almost throwing in the towel on the game. Our ace pitcher is on schedule to pitch tuesday and sunday and that is exactly what he should be doing.
  21. Not pitching Burnes twice this week when he's on schedule is completely inexcusable but totally on brand for how this season is going. Its very hard to take this team seriously when they decide its more important for the ace of the team to pitch in a meaningless exhibition game than throw twice the last week before the break.
  22. This team just isn't worth pillaging the farm for and certainly not for a rental.
  23. This was a week to gain at least two games on St. Louis and we failed.
  24. Unpopular opinion and it’s not going to happen but I would check out the market for Hader and possibly even Burnes and Woodruff. This team isn’t winning anything and if we let these stars walk over the next two years we will be back to losing 90 plus games.
  25. The schedules are going to flip and we will be facing good teams while St. Louis will be playing a ton of games against the garbage bottom three teams of this division.
