I think we need a big bat regardless but not having Adames and Renfroe makes this offense terrible.
-
Cain has to be released pretty soon.
-
No its not fine having a guy that will probably have an OPS around .500 in the lineup everyday if you are a contending team as we are.
-
This is the last time I discuss this but you claimed the Phillies were better which is flat out not the case and if they are it means the Brewers won the division by 10 plus games which would be great.
-
Cain has been amongst the very worst hitters in baseball. You can't just have what is almost an automatic out in the lineup. Hopefully Taylor shows enough to claim the everyday spot because Cain is just not an everyday player and is almost at the point where he can't even be on the roster.

2022 MLB Draft Thread (Pre-Draft Discussion)
brewers888 replied to Eye Black's topic in MLB Draft & International Signings
I havent paid any attention to the draft but give me someone with some real upside which I doubt a 5'8 shortstop has much of. -
Good thing the Cardinals are not as good as the powerhouse Phillies or so I've been told in previous game threads.
-
Ok game over so time to find something else to do.
-
Lets hope we can get the split tomorrow. This one looks to be over.
-
He shows flashes every now and again but it never lasts more than a few days.
-
The odds of him ever being an MVP caliber player again are crazy long.
-
Facing a lefty and predictable results so far.
-
I agree that we will probably need to trade for some bullpen guys but unless you think Taylor can handle CF well enough defensively or that Cain won't be essentially an automatic out we need to do something there as well.

2022 MLB Draft Thread (Pre-Draft Discussion)

Just can't get excited about the idea of a 5'8 shortstop in the first round. -
We are facing a lefty so I get why McCutchen is playing but why has he been in the lineup against every righty when he has been on the roster. For such an analytically thinking organization having McCutchen as an everyday player makes no sense.
-
At least they made him throw 20 pitches.
-
I think we need a big time upgrade and absolutely hated the signing.
-
This is a good team but its fair to ask how we stack up against the other likely playoff teams in the league and we will have a pretty good idea of that over the next month or so.
-
When I pointed this out I was roundly criticized by @Brewcrew82but the truth is we are going to find out a lot about this team in the next month or so. Kudos to the team for taking care of business against the dregs of the league but we will know a lot more about just how good this team is when we see how they do against the good teams in the league.
-
Not excited to see either Hiura or Peterson in the outfield but Keston has no business whatsoever playing outfield.
-
Can we please avoid the proven AAAA journeyman types like Reyes and Mathias and go with Dahl who at least has had some major league success and potential upside as a former highly regarded prospect.
-
Yes Atlanta is good and we finished 3-3 against them which is fine,
-
I said the Brewers are a good team but how they do against other contenders will give us a good understanding of just how good they are. In case you didn't know we won't be playing against Pittsburgh or Washington in the playoffs.
-
I think we have a pretty good idea who is good in this league with half of the teams trying to out tank each other.
-
Like it or not McCutchen is an everyday player for this team even if he can't hit righties.
