Its unfair to judge Hiura too harshly if he struggles against an all star caliber pitcher.

This should be the last inning for Corbin unless we score some runs in the bottom of the fourth. Just use the bottom of the staff with what looks like an insurmountable deficit against a top starter.

Atlanta is a far better team than Philadelphia regardless of the first month and a half of this season. The teams I would consider as good in the NL are the Mets and Braves from the East, Brewers and St Louis from the central, and the Dodgers, Giants, and Padres in the west. How we do against these teams is a good measure for how we are likely to fair in the playoffs

The Phillies are not a good team.

I'm not really concerned about Burnes at all. The worry for me is this team doesn't hit lefties and hasn't shown an ability to beat good teams.

Its hard to take this team seriously as a championship contender until they show they can beat other playoff caliber teams.

I am far more interested in a difference making bat than a player like Laureano. The Red Sox are out of it and JD Martinez is a free agent at seasons end. With Boston probably being interested in saving money in a non competitive season we may get Martinez at a low cost prospect wise. This is the time to go for it and JD would be the big time hitter this team lacks especially when matching up against lefty starters which we continue to struggle against. This is the type of acquistion that can help us win that all elusive World Series.

Fried is a great pitcher but the guy who shut us out tonight is far from it.

JD Martinez is the guy we should trade for. He’s a free agent after the year and Boston will be happy to dump his contract. This consistent brutal offense against lefties needs to be addressed.

For an organization that prides itself on its analytics you really have to wonder why Counsell insisted on playing McCutchen every day despite the fact he hasn't hit righties in years and why he didn't let Hiura play against righties when he has reverse splits. -

At least Urias hit it deep. We have been missing so many hittable pitches today.

The last two games we faced good pitching. Today there is no excuse to be struggling against this guy. Yelich just grounded out on a meatball down the middle.

Brosseau can't hit or field. He should be in AAA regardless.
