  1. Do we have to keep throwing Cain out there and how and why is McCutchen in there every day regardless of the opponent. If the idea was for him to help against lefties who he hit very well last year it was a defensible signing but he can't hit righties at all at this point in his career. The fact that he is hitting cleanup and we really don't have any better options tells you how bad this lineup currently is.
  2. When looking at the 2022 trade market you come to realize what a mistake we made not meaningfully addressing our woeful lineup last offseason with a big time free agent.
  3. We can keep talking about how the sample size is small and while that is true this offense truly sucks and is easily the worst of any contending team. This team needs a meaningful acquisition if it has any chance of winning the World Series. There is a reason why Renfroe is on his fourth team in four years and why no one wanted McCutchen. This pitching staff is great and we must do everything we can not to waste it.
  4. I was wondering what the rental market would look like this year and that list truly is bleak. This is just another reason why we should have signed Castellanos who only costs 5 million or so more than McCutchen and Renfroe. Of course Castellanos signed for 5 years while we can dump both McCutchen and Renfroe after the season but this is the time we should be going for it. Conforto is the only guy on that list that interests me and though I would prefer a righthanded bat we should just sign Conforto now and give up the draft pick provided he is healthy. I would do Hiura and a mid level prospect for Senzel right now but no way a deal like that happens.
  5. He's mostly pitched well for the Brewers but I've never trusted him.
  6. just bad luck this whole inning. If we lose this is on the pitiful offense.
  7. This franchise continues to produce pitching. Hopefully some of the position player prospects develop because we sure need a few.
  8. I really prefer to get another righthanded bat but if Conforto is healthy we should just sign him.
  9. Cousins was warming up but I would rather keep Ashby in there.
  10. Thats a great question. I thought we were going with a 6 man rotation again.
  11. Ashby has a lot of upside but he's got to throw more strikes.
  12. Cain can still play a great CF but I would rather see Woodruff hit.
  13. The team finished last season with an overall battling line of .233/.317/.396 good for 23rd in baseball so you should be concerned.
  14. Why are we picking on Hiura when 2/3 of the lineup has been atrocious.
  15. They didn’t bring in anyone of note. Whether it’s Conforto or a trade this team needs one if not two good hitters especially if Adames doesn’t put up similar numbers to last year. The pitching is great but the lineup badly needs some better hitters.
  16. Yes they can make the playoffs just on pitching but can they win the World Series with this offense.
  17. Even last night when they scored 5 runs the team had only three hits. You really have to be wearing rose colored glasses to think this lineup is good enough with this cast of characters.
  18. Yelich being good again would be huge for the franchise.
  19. To be fair you shouldn't have this guy if your league had 30 teams.
