  1. Suppan has pitched better than Parra of late. He's not getting skipped.
  2. PAP is a lot flawed, as it punishes success, basically. It also starts too early. I would not have sent CC out for the 9th myself, but I can understand it. The bullpen was worked pretty hard in LA, and we aren't even sure if Torres was available. There's also quite a difference between running Wood and Prior (remember when they said his delivery would keep him healthy, heh) for several 120+ pitch outings in their early 20's, and having CC go 130 once because of an error. Ned has done a fine job watching pitch counts for years now.
  3. Greg fits right into the #5 spot, which LA had Johnson in. Fine move by the Dodgers, with Manny and Maddux, one could say they got the best bat and best arm available at the time.
  4. He's plenty valuable if he can play CF and put up a 750 OPS, as that's about average for the position. Someone needs to let him run out there every day for a couple months. He has not had a lot of time to see what he can do.
  5. The stress level of being a driver is about 10% of the other two.
  6. Tristar is correct, the marketing is 5x better than when the Seligs were in charge. It was said the only ad budget they had was purchased in trade for good tickets with the ad agency, and it showed. From the Braun/Hart voting to the promos and ticket deals, they are on another level.
  7. I've found the opposite to be true, Augie. Doug even mentioned how unfair it was a couple years ago that they were playing a team with many more active players, and that should be changed somehow.
  8. Why do they drop the points if you contest? That seems strange. I understand they still get the money, but it seems unfair to those who admit guilt and pay, and to the insurance companies, who apparently can't just look up fines?
  9. They must have added the official thank you in the last 20 years, they used to just use plain thank yous like you'd find in the card shop. What "extras" do you get from your garbage man? They take the trash and leave the Rubbermaid can...that's all I expect, and every one we've ever had has done the same thing.
  10. With your mailman or garbage person, how do you know if it's them or a sub? I guess I'd view that like tipping my broker or my mechanic...I pay them for a service, and they do it. Tips or gifts seem unnecessary. Heck, they probably both make more than me.http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif {By the way, allow me to say I wish I really did have a broker.} In my case, both comes out of my taxes, so I don't pay them directly, I guess. My folks used to gift the mailman, and it seemed odd then. He would always put a thank you card in the box the next day, sans postage, which struck me as wrong as well.
  11. I've never worried about points, as even when was delivering I never was close to losing my license. Hence, I do not know much about them, other than they exist.
  12. Unless you're going to contest it, why go to court? I'd pay it and use the time doing something you enjoy.
  13. 35% of his hits are for extra bases, and as has been mentioned, his speed is Prince-like. I see that as a guy with plenty of power. He may issues making the transition, but power won't be one of them.
  14. Salome is not fast? Is Adam Dunn? Bonds the last decade? As I said, the bat plays. As for his power, he's got a .500 SLG doesn't he? I don't see him hitting 30 HR's either...lots of guys don't.
  15. Salome could absolutely play LF or RF. The bat plays, and if Angel is major league ready but unable to catch, we'll see that. Next year, we may well see Angel play some OF on his days off behind the plate, because they rarely DH in Nashville.
  16. I assume that's $12 each. I misunderstood until I saw the price for Lee.
  17. I think that's an BP game though. If it is, it'll sellout, though there may be lots of empty seats.
  18. Anyone on the 4o man 8/31 is eligible for the playoffs.
  19. I was hoping his pitch count was just too high to be used, and he was just going in for his postgame massage or whatever he does. Hopefully that's the case, though the Crew is notoriously tight lipped with minor tweaks.
  20. It will be 21 straight sellouts, and the rest of the season is possible.
  21. I don't see both Iribarren and Nelson, as both would just be used as PH's (maybe PR in Hernan's case). I certainly don't see both Nelson and Gibbons. I agree on Stocker, he can run and play defense just as well in BC as he can anywhere else. There's no reason to DFA Gardner, they can just outright him to AAA, I assume.
  22. Well, I've been laughed off the board so many times...
  23. Bray simply does not have the velocity...junkballers have to be all but perfect to get to the bigs...and even better to stay in the bigs.
  24. I agree, I don't want it to be Brantley either. The others are all quality, but Cain strikes me a bit as a generic OF, so I would prefer it to be him.
