  1. Most of the playoff tiks would go to season ticket holders, so I assume it would be more of a Brewers' crowd, though some would still sell tickets for a profit.
  2. Wow, there were oodles of seats left for the Monday afternoon game a week or so ago when we bought seats for my son and I. Literally, the entire 4th deck, as our choices were rtight behind home plate. We got the Braun special seats, but since he'll be spending much of the game in the play area, it seemed silly to spend too much. Hawing, that is some geeky behavior. You should blog that sucker.http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  3. Heart trouble is intense pain, and does not "go away", or just hit once in a while.
  4. Mark A could start his own network. That would be an empty threat, but he actually could.
  5. As silly as it sounds, any extended losing streak, even after a 7 game win streak, could be enough to slow down the pace to break 3M. I think it is safe to assume the total will be between 2.95M and 3.05M...it is very possible a few hundred folks could do it.
  6. I would not think you'd feel out of place unless you were over 30 or so. Some folks go to college after working a few years, or a military commitment, and so on.
  7. Heh. Small samples do exist in a week of baseball...over the last 2 weeks, the team is 8-6, almost exactly what you'd expect. Sure, some folks will overreact to that, but some folks overreact to everything. Earlier this year, it was "why can't they win on the road?", and now that they are over .500, folks are taking what they can. Sadly, with winning comes a boatload of casual fans into the mix...that's what has added to the crowds and ratings. However, expectations are now ridiculous. This is a team that has the 2nd best record in the NL at the moment. 14 teams would be happy to exchange records, so ignorance like Tom H is writing pretty much just shows how out of touch he is. Of course, he reported Yost got fired earlier this year...it's difficult taking anything he says seriously.
  8. Jason has a OBP of .332, well above average for a C. Laird offers more power, but has not done much for his career either. Catchers don't hit, with rare exception, I'm not sure why this is always a surprise.
  9. It could put FLA into the wildcard race.
  10. Ginger root is a highly effective anti-emetic and sucking on crystallized ginger or sipping ginger tea can help to relieve the nausea.[18] A teaspoon of ground (powdered) ginger root has been proven to be as effective in preventing motion sickness as popular OTC chemicals, but without the drowsiness and sleepiness that is a common side reaction to dimenhydrinate or diphenhydrinate.--Wiki I prefer the "I don't like 'em, so I stay off" cure.
  11. The only question left is 3M or just missing it.
  12. A few times a year, my wife takes our son somewhere, and I'm excited that I have the whole place to myself...eat what I want, do what I want, and so on. That is what's so great about single life...you can be selfish all the time and it's not selfish, it's "your life".
  13. Buster sounds like he's a bit insecure. You can fake times on many sites though.
  14. Laird is supposedly a very good backstop, though I've heard TEX fans say he doesn't frame pitches well. Rivera, at best, is average defensively. No doubt he'd be an upgrade, but money wise it would seem strange. It'd be more for '09 than '08.
  15. I have now heard from a couple "insiders" at Miller Park who say O'Driscoll is a good guy who tries hard, but the players all say he's far tougher than any other park, which costs them hits and gives them errors. He's tough on both teams, so he's not a "homer", but it is well known he gives errors out like ice water. Ned never complains about umpires, but even he said how different it is at MP. It's very apparent.
  16. When Weeks hit the walk-off single versus SL. That game went from a loss to a win all with 2 outs in the 9th.
  17. The Weeks E was the worst I've seen all year. O'Driscoll has been awful for years, as Ned pointed out, but he's officially lost it.

I can't imagine it ever being better than Google, and until it is, no use for it.
  19. With Teahen's struggles, I would not want to bring him in as a starter. If he's depth or something, sign me up.
  20. Isn't Pena the one who walks almost a guy an inning, and had a 5ish ERA before today? Some are blinded by velocity, but he's not even close. There are probably 4-5 guys ahead of him at AAA alone.
  21. 1000 seats at $14 is $1.2M a year. If it costs less than $10M, you get your cost back quickly in a long-term business, and tickets will never be cheaper than they are today. I would think they will look to add spendy seats as well, like Boston has, if at all possible.
  22. Bunting for a base hit is never bad etiquette, in my view. The game is about not getting out, and you can't stall the game away. Do what you do best.
  23. Gagne is very unlikely to be offered arby. As pointed out, his results are not in line for $8M.
  24. Those terrace sections would sell out 40-50 times this year. I think they will look to add seats, I had mentioned that a week or so ago at Ramblings.
  25. I assume you mean 1.82 for the JS. As with all things, when in doubt, I'd bet against the JS.
