  1. Of course not. It's a perfectly fine way of life.
  2. Many don't even know CC's last name. In a month, he's not even top 10.
  3. The guy that plays the sax outside Miller Park after games?
  4. Hayden P is too young for me to even consider as a fantasy, but I see your point.
  5. Ray is less attractive because she smokes? If you don't like Ray, there's a remote. I don't believe anyone can be a food fraud unless they use fake foods. My wife (who's also cute, ask FTJ) uses 30 Minute recipes all the time, and they are quick and yummy. As for Giada, I do not know a thing about her background, but much like the bat plays, being a babe is helpful to a career in TV. If she was a plain jane, all that experience in kitchens would likely be rendered useless. She might be a fine chef, but she wears the V-necks for a reason, and it's not to show me what restaurants she's been employed by. EDIT: I am saddened to see Giada was born in Italy, meaning she can never be President Giada. I'd never miss a press conference.
  6. Considering it is very possible the Cubs and Brewers both make the playoffs, but not likely at all the Cards and Crew both make it, go Cubs.
  7. Giada is good looking, but her teeth are just TOO white, and her over annunciation of everything Italian bugs the crap out of me. You gotta watch Giada on mute, that way you'll spend all your time wondering why so much cleavage is necessary to make a salad and hot dish. As for Rachel, all cooks talk nonstop. Silence is all but nonexistent on any Food show. The reason I'm so fond of Ms. Ray is she's not a kid, she's almost 40, and she's a "normal" looking gal...c'mon, we all know why Giada has a show, it ain't her dazzling desserts. Ray is cute and appealing in that "woman next door way", not the "cheerleader" way.
  8. I'm not sure why the Crew would move a rotation member for a pair of reserves. Add Yo to the current mix, and that's the proposed '09 rotation. They won't be weakening that by upgrading the bench.
  9. Suppan, Gagne, and Mota have been as effective as any pitcher not named CC of late. Who would have ever thought that a small sample would not be the best way to judge a pitcher's worth?http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  10. As I said before, Craig is the best defender of the three. He also has the best OBP. We're not talking about George Brett, we're talking about Branyan and Hall, solid players with warts. Branyan looks to have poor range at 3B, and if he does not hit a HR, the odds are he's giving you nothing, or very, very little. Hall has struggled versus RHP all season, and while good defensively, has made many errors, mostly on the routine throw/grounder. What is ironic is when LaRussa mixes and matches, he's labeled a genius in strategery, even though he runs out of relievers in the 9th or 10th a few times each year and often is perplexed when the other manager does anything to counter (he once used 3 of his 4 bench players in one spot, PH, another PH when the opposing manager changed pitchers, and then a PR when that batter reached via error...and had to use a P to PH in the 9th, which led to resounding boos in SL when the SP predictably struck out on 3 pitches. Joe Morgan defended him by saying "Well, you only have a 25 man roster". As for Counsell's spot in the order, pitchers go right after the hitter almost all the time...see Hart's success last night. Protection is often discussed but it's effect on the game is often nonexistent, or at least very minimal. I think we'll continue to see Ned use the hot hand, both at 2B and 3B the rest of the way. Basically, when you have choices, you delay the decision by putting it off until someone steps up...that's why Bush is now in the rotation.
  11. They find hundreds of insects and fish species each year they never knew about. The sum of everything we know is a fraction of a fraction. One more reason to be a skeptic on most everything.
  12. It's a great deal for ARI if he stays healthy. As others have said, $45M is a lot for any pitcher, who could be a single pitch away from being a shell of himself.
  13. Counsell has been having good AB's and has a nice OBP. That's why he's been getting some starts. They feel they have plenty of pop. And he's the best defender as well. I would assume Ned will go with the hot hand there, with Hall starting vs all lefties.
  14. ooooh Erin Esurance. She's no Judy Jetson, but she's ok. Rachel Ray is about my age, but she is a fine looking "mature" choice. That said, if you're going to take a Food Network personality, it's all about Giada.
  15. I'd love to see a few bands at Rocklahoma each year. I saw a guy in a sleeveless Queensryche T-shirt from the 1995 tour today at Kwik Trip. It looked exactly how you would expect, black faded to gray, words barely legible.
  16. FTJ, quit fantasizing about my wife. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  17. I only see a use for Frank C for the postseason roster, as often times, he's not as good a choice as Branyan (when you need a HR). I'd like him for 2009 though, if TEX pays some salary.
  18. Sheets might give us 22-24 good starts a year but those starts are the difference between 80 wins and 90 wins/season Not even close. An ace that starts 32 times might be 5 wins better than an average starter, and even that is a huge stretch.
  19. I think folks that do not like Brantley fail to recall how young he is and at what level. He's got 3 years to improve before he is the same age as Cole. Gillespie will never be a CF, Mike probably will be. I don't even consider it close. I also question the comparison of Gillespie to Hart...a side-by-side look at age, level, and stats make that seem odd. Corey was dominating AAA and doing ok in the bigs at 24, while Gillespie is doing pretty well at AA. I have Brantley as my #4, behind Gamel, Escobar, and Salome. Jeffress has a very high ceiling, but also an immense flame out risk, due to youth, hard throwing, and his off field discretions.
  20. 2B do not need as much range. They can play deeper because their throw is much shorter. Loretta was a 2B for most of his career, and he was also a SS with little range. Escobar will be the SS eventually. The decision may well be Weeks or Hardy. Given a variety of factors, it would seem JJ is more likely to stick around.
  21. Hitting numbers tend to fall off a bit, guys get tired and the weather gets hot, minor injuries keep them from being effective, and so on.
  22. If Ryne is 16, that's a fine answer.
  23. Jennifer Love Hewitt is both attractive and from everything I've seen, one of the nicest celebs out there. If I was a few years younger, I'd probably go with Amanda Bynes. Sadly, I'm taken.
  24. Considering one scout said Brantley was a better long-term prospect than Laporta, I just can't believe Gillespie can be mentioned in the same breath.
  25. Cole is 24 and plays LF/RF, and has a 865 OPS Michael is 21 and plays CF, and has a 840 OPS. I am very puzzled as how Gillespie can even be considered close to Brantley, and above is just off-the-charts head shaking. I must be missing something.
