  1. What's a retaining wall?
  2. It's tough to understand HBO's ratings even when you see them, because the rating is only the homes that have HBO. I think Sopranos got like a 15, but that only meant of HBO's limited homes. Comparing it to other stuff is tough.
  3. I was thinking the same thing as Patrick. The season always lasts 183 days, not counting those Japan games.
  4. I cannot imagine a situation where I'd want to move an athletic, decent defensively OF (with the potential to be well above average) to a position in which his low OBP will make him well below average.
  5. Given that Opening Day is a part of many season ticket packages, I would guess there will be many more CHI fans there Sat and Sun.
  6. Durham is playing because they continue to search for the hot hand...as long as he gets a hit or two a game, I would think they'll hang with Ray.
  7. Riske did pitch well except when bothered. He could go on the 60 day DL as well, if the Crew sees another option on the waiver wire.
  8. If you ignore SL and HOU, the Brewers have to win more games than the lesser of the Mets or Phillies, as one will win the NL East. When you look at it this way, it's easy to think 7-8 wins might win it or tie for it.
  9. There are dozens of templates online. If you use spellcheck, you can do as good a job as they can.
  10. Yeah, he might once. He's not going to do it several times though.
  11. Makes no difference if Gagne is Type B or not, he will not be offered arby.
  12. Ben, i would assume they PH for him...that's commonplace, as you are usually behind. That's also why "long relievers" in the NL are almost non-existent, though many do not notice. Jim Slaton of '82 was a long man, NL teams just don't use 'em.
  13. If Doug were let go, I agree Jack Z should be first in line. I too agree Doug should stay.
  14. FSN asked for and got permission to televise tonight from ESPN.
  15. AAA facilities are not major league, to be kind. The Cubs and Astros players would have to sign off on that, and the Cubs have no reason to do so.
  16. I meant if you overdraft your account, our cu effectively charges $2.
  17. Some are $140, right behind the screen. Tiks are flying off the shelf. I would not dream of going at the marquee rate, but obviously, Cubs' fans will and are, I have already doubled my 6-7K guess...they might do 20K.
  18. Heh. I assume they'd pack up the Brewers' stuff first.
  19. Our cu charges $2 to move money from savings to checking, and they'll do it 5x in a month.
  20. The Astros and Cubs will be paid from a fund MLB has, and the money goes to MLB. HOU will get ticket sales, or close to it, they would have gotten at home, CHI will get the visitor's share. MIL will get overhead and a tad more, maybe. This was all gone over in the CLE/LAA series.
  21. To be as short-winded as possible, banks have to make money, and basically, credit unions just have to break even. Hence, cu's usually pay higher interest and have lower fees.
  22. I'm sure they have a game scheduled. FSN is carrying the sunday night game, per the team site's schedule.
  23. Have you tried reasoning with it? Seriously, the battery thing is the phone version of the computer reboot, just try it before calling for help. Both my wife and my old roommate have been "in charge" of computer set-ups at work (her for a nursing home, he for a city), and both say the reboot solves 90% of the problems...and no one really knows why. Makes you look like a genius though.
  24. Credit unions are always better, but obviously, some are better than others. I would not concern yourself with overdraft fees unless you bounce checks and such. Just keep a slush fund in your account. As already said, you are insured up to $100K, so you really have no worries with WaMu. With the other banks, another has just taken them over anyway, on Friday it's one name, on Monday it's another. No worries.
  25. Minor league E totals are always high though, bad fields and scorers that have no idea. I saw Mike Garciaparra given an error in Appleton after he made a diving play and then threw so the 1B had to step off the bag...and the runner had beat the throw easily regardless. That's why he had 50+ that year.
