  1. AS ILuv pointed out, he deserves a lot of credit for not giving up the lead. Really gotta give Giles credit, the pitch he hit out was low and in...lefties often like it there, but it was not even a strike. AS Torres says, it's one thing to let the opponent tie it, it's another to fall behind.
  2. Brewers need wins. Giving CC fewer starts (if games are rained out later) is not a way to get more W's. Heck, the Phillies have a good weekend, it might be the Mets win total that matters. Just win, baby...don't bother thinking.
  3. Retail and restaurants won't care if you've not had a job before. Also, look for something that peaks toward the holiday season.
  4. He hurt himself worse, but it seems quite possible Russ felt "tight" for a while before that...to be honest, I recall several times when Russ looked "stiff" in the field, barely bending for balls hit to his left.
  5. Branyan is said to be "close", I think in the JS today. He said he was getting "itchy", which I recall because I remember thinking I hope he doesn't need a shot from the trainer.
  6. 50% of my idea is now going to happen, the other half being Mark A buying a AAA team and putting it in Madison...which would probably only happen if he'd start his own TV network and need "filler", as it would involve building or massively upgrading a stadium. I won't hold my breath, but I never thought Appleton would have the low A team either. As for WV, I would think any team left to choose would love to have a new ballpark and the like. I bet SEA may already have a verbal agreement, unless WV is trying to get Pittsburgh for geography.
  7. Unless it's your money, I think that's a nice improvement, 16 runs less should equal 1.6 wins, if all things work out the "average" way. 0.29 x 162 / 3 = 15.66 fewer runs That's figured with relievers averaging 3 innings per game, by the way.
  8. Many recruiters are paid by commission. They are calling because they figure it can't hurt. Same reason I call clients if I think they may be looking for something, or interested in a new product.
  9. I have not heard one that's not cliched and unbearable. The one with Drew Olson is the best I've heard, as it is the least bad.
  10. I'm sure that's a ton of work. Nice job, Jason.
  11. I usually buy a brat myself, but when on an eating plan, just eat something before the game. Again, it's 3 hours. The security people only had to check about 3 people out of the 100 or so we saw the first game we went to (the second, we went in the club express line). It's a non-issue for most folks.
  12. Dykstra, considering his youth and injuries, is having an outstanding year...looking forward to seeing him in Appleton in '09.
  13. Seems to me Taylor Green may have been held out with a minor injury because he's the PTBNL.
  14. We carried in for the first time the last game, but hardly anyone does...less than 10%, except ladies who use their purses. As others said, you gotta eat more than once every 3 hours? Golly.
  15. Several seem one too low...Hernan, Joe, Carlos V. Alcides was used in March, right.
  16. On Bruce's point, all cheese is white before color is added. I had success on 20 carbs or less, but it's mighty tough to keep up for more than a few weeks.
  17. League average 2B are dealt for nice packages all the time. Factor in his potential, youth, and cheapness, Weeks is worth plenty. DC offered Chad Cordero for him last offseason, for example. Those in the business know not to let BA bother them, and they won't.
  18. Online poker is legal. Funding it is more difficult, but obviously, as easy as buying something online. With the legislation that was passed, there was nothing said about the playing online, only the funding. However, it was reported haphazardly and many folks did not know what really happened. Poker Stars had 150K folks on it the other night, and growing.
  19. The feds should not build levees and dams for LA...that's city and state stuff, i would say. It was nice of them to rebuild what they did, but you could say that was important to security and such, I would say. I don't drink, so I think NO's appeal would be lost on me...it'd be like driving 16 hours to go to the world's biggest salad bar.
  20. The SPF would not matter this time of year, I don't think, we're not that close to the sun, or the angle, or whatever it is.
  21. Yeah, it was a problem once before today, as well. i think the mods see posts that have been deleted, and we do not, hence, the issue.
  22. Organizational soldiers need to be very good and keep their nose clean. Doesn't sound like Crew did either.
  23. The Appleton guy said, what was it, "there are different factors this time". It appears this is all done except the contract being signed.
  24. I don't think Sexson is a better option than Dillon, and certainly not Kapler...if he was a top defender, maybe.
