  1. Yo threw like 60 pitches the other day. As I said Thursday night, he's all but certainly the guy.
  2. He's a classic case of you can't teach velocity. He's why guys who throw 95 get several opportunities, and guys that throw 85 are lucky to get one.
  3. He stepped into the rotation and did a fine job. I see him as a starter.
  4. Why would you have over $100K in one bank? People either don't get it, or they are really, really stupid. I've seen 85 year-olds insist they are not in any "risky" stuff even though they've went from $750K to $450K in the last 5 years. Any thought of taking it out is met with a response of "Then I'll miss the rebound"! Tons of people laugh at you when you even mention a bank going out of business...they know the bank president personally, and his dad was the president before him...others may not be safe, but there is no chance of Small Town Bank and Trust losing a dime.
  5. Get your questions in right now, be starting soon. Just click on the link in the signature. I will be deleting this topic when the chat ends.
  6. Could someone explain the relacing of shoes for support?
  7. My wife just went to the doc with plantar's. Ice, painkillers, heel guards, and using a rope or something to "stretch out" the foot was what they told her.
  8. It took us maybe a minute to register 4 years ago. ID, form, done.
  9. If you have insurance through work, go to a podiatrist and they'll make you prescription supports. Mine worked fine, and after 6 months, I quit using them, and have never needed them since. Other than a copay, I did not pay a penny.
  10. I wouldn't trade Escobar for Cain straight up, never mind throw in others.
  11. If Nelson hits like Overbay, I'd be thrilled. He has only hit like Lyle in AAA once, while repeating the same level...again. P2006 does make a point, however, what's more valuable, Brad's 750 OPS for $400K or Lyle's 800 OPS for whatever he's making, about $6-7M, I think.
  12. JJ, you forgot Carlos, unless you see him dealt.
  13. Do runs count more in the 8th than they do the 6th? It's exactly the same argument used by believers in "clutch" hitters, that somehow, the 4th run in a 4-3 game meant more than the first. I use ERA, as I do not blame the reliever for coming in with men on base.
  14. I'd take Molitor.
  15. Garbage time includes how the bullpen pitched, you know, all the time. Using anything else is similar to using "clutch" hitting numbers, a waste of time. I'd certainly consider bringing Mota back, though I'd hate to go more than a year or two at most. If he wishes, he'll certainly pitch somewhere next year, as he can go 2 innings and K's a lot of batters. I'd say up to a dozen teams will talk to him.
  16. I find it odd people think the Brewers top 4/5 bullpen in the NL has been a problem. The 'pen has been much better than most teams, and overall, has been a strength. Every team gives up leads late in games, so pretty much everyone says the bullpen is a problem.
  17. He's average, but has the stuff to be dominant, as he has been for much of the year. He sure did have a bad stretch though.
  18. Blalock on a one year deal.
  19. Gillespie is not young for his league at all, and his numbers look rather pedestrian when you take age and translations into account. To say the least, I'm not counting on him to ever be more than a reserve. Hart was similar when he was 2-3 years younger. I've always liked Abreu, but when you consider what he gives you versus what Cameron will, and their money, I have to believe Mike a better deal. If they choose not to go with Cameron, a guy like Dejesus or a similar type of player is likely to be brought in via trade.OBP is very hard to find for anything but a premium (darn that Beane guy), I would imagine BA gets at least 2y/$30M.
  20. Talk about a tiny sample...3 games? CC is trhe best pitcher they have, and I'll gladly take him at 80-90% twice.
  21. Yep, the Rays and Vero Beach seem to be off the board. And thanks for reading. I'm shocked how popular that chat was, got 174 questions.
  22. Carbonated beverages with your meals? Ulcer? Medicine? Eat quickly?
  23. Sucks being in those 7 counties, I guess.
  24. WI has no special requirements, so they could divert gas headed anywhere if a problem arose. GA is paying the price for an uneven playing field, mixed in with some panic, I'm sure.
  25. I had not considered the Crew might be a game up going into Sunday. I'm assuming they'll need every game, hence why I am not worried about Monday.
