  1. Or you can save money and watch Jesus play at Miller Park
  2. Thoughts: -Would prefer to play the Angels later in the year when every SP is on the DL (pretty much an annual occurance). -10 straight on the road vs. Cubs, Phillies, and Braves looks tough. -Play in Pittsburgh on the road before the All-Star break. Try to win one of those. -Last 3 weeks look alright, but I think the Padres will be a much improved team with their prospects and signs of trying to contend (in Archer trade talks). -Why can't we play the Twins on the weekend?
  3. Especially when his innings consist of 20-30 pitches per inning.
  4. Seems like something somebody says when they get dumped while dating, to make themselves feel better. Chicago North has enough money to do whatever they want, so if their A and AA teams suck, it doesn't mean the Brewers will be winning anything at the MLB level. LOL, and very true! So the Cubs aren't flush with cash and now they have enough money to do whatever they want? Which one is it Big Al?
  5. Todd Rosiak @Todd_Rosiak Live BP went well for Joakim Soria. Threw 25 pitches. If he's feeling OK tomorrow it's likely he'll rejoin the team this weekend, says Craig Counsell. 4:58 PM - 21 Aug 2018
  6. Looks like Coulter got the call up to AAA.
  7. It's fun to root against a team or even wish injury on players?? I saw that from a poster here a few weeks ago that they were hoping Byrant's injury is "serious". Well, yeah. I don't want the Cubs, Cardinals, Dodgers, Diamondbacks, Braves, or Phillies to win another game. I'm happy to check scores and see other contending teams lose, so if that means I have fun rooting against a team/teams; I'm guilty. As far as rooting for injury, I would never and will never do that. That's about as low as it gets in sports.
  8. There are at least four teams that control their own destiny for two spots. Considering the Brewers have played anywhere from 1 to 3 more games than the teams below us, it could be argued that those teams have more control of their destiny. Scoreboard watching, albeit stressful at times, is what makes playoff races fun.
  9. Tonights Lineup: Yelich Cain Moustakas Aguilar Shaw Thames Kratz Arcia Guerra
  10. Jesus is slashing .371/.463/.571 over the last 14 days (11 games). If that's clearly slumping, I hope everyone on this team goes on a slump. I'll take an OPS over 1.000.
  11. Yeah, Stearns hasn't made any trades to try to improve this team. Must be on that Ted Thompson GM retreat.
  12. @Iowa @ #14 Michigan @ #10 Penn St @Northwestern *eyeroll* so if they don't beat anyone good they should go to the playoff? Work out well for Alabama last year
  13. From 2015-16 (Scooter's last two seasons in Milwaukee) 164 players batted at least 900 times. Of those 164 players, Scooter ranked 149th in wRC+ & 156th in WAR. He didn't start a little slow one season, he was among the worst regulars in MLB for a two year stretch. Very interesting ... I do like to go with stats ... but I could tell Scooter had a great swing; I knew we were undervaluing him immensely when we simply released him for virtually nothing ... ask my son .. he will tell you I was quite upset when they released Scooter ... same with Nelson Cruz, Khris Davis. Production trumps a great looking swing. At some point, you cannot keep someone who isn't producing. Every team has transactions that, in hindsight, don't work out. I'm sure the A's would prefer to have not traded Nelson Cruz for Keith Ginter. I'm also sure the Cubbies wouldn't mind having Josh Donaldson on their roster, etc. It happens to every team.
  14. Cephus is suspended from the team, and now Danny Davis could be facing charges. Man... https://madison.com/wsj/news/local/courts/badgers-receiver-quintez-cephus-charged-with-sex-assaults-of-two/article_8503f97a-0250-5586-891b-3392bdaee3ec.html
  15. How long until he can pinch hit? I mean, he seems to be a pretty smart guy and he has two arms. September call up?
  16. Looks like Suter is back with the team. If anyone can help a team without stepping on the field, it's Brent Suter.
  17. RF- Yelich CF- Cain 3B- Moustakas 1B- Aguilar 2B- Shaw LF- Braun SS- Schoop C- Pina P- Anderson
  18. Astros 2nd half this year: 11-14 Both World Series Teams last year in the 2nd half Astros 2nd half last year (End of July - August): 12-19 Dodgers streak last year: 1-16
  19. Agree. Would have expected Woodruff up by now. Of course another bad outing probably means Davies will get tossed into the rotation.
  20. The batting order looks good, but the defensive lineup makes me nervous, especially against a team with some speed that puts pressure on the defense. Peralta has a 31% gb rate, so I think that is why the lineup looks like this. Although the Cardinals are a pesky team which good defense it typically required. It will be interesting.
  21. Feel like there was another year where this happened... Agreed with the whole stuck in neutral. Hopefully we can see a glimpse of 1st half Jesus, and a normal Schoop.
  22. Yelich Cain Moustakas Aguilar Shaw Schoop Thames Freddy Like the look of the lineup. Wonder if Braun is still ailing from that rib cage injury however.
  23. If the Brewers win 2 out of 3, that puts them around 94 wins. Sounds like that would work to me. Obviously the mentality should be to sweep teams. It would have been a huge win today, but by no means is it a "must win".
  24. Those stats sum up exactly who Chris Archer is... average and overrated.
  25. If that was Braun, he'd immediately be placed on the 60 day DL.
