  1. I'm really down on Max. 1 of 8? I just don't believe it's going in when he shoots it. And if that's how you are shooting from the floor, don't miss both of your free throws. That was such a typical Maryland game. Second half fouls, handsy defense, a guard getting hot (and banking in a three). I mean take your pick. Klesmit's shooting, team missing four of first six free throws, I think the radio postgame said they were 9 of 22 on layups, officials deciding that charges were going to be a thing again, Blackwell not a good enough PG to handle it against their defense, it was just not their night. Maryland is a good team.
  2. I'm nodding and stroking my chin thoughtfully as I read this.
  3. Public Service Announcement to chew your food well, people!
  4. Right, and Zach Baun played quarterback in high school. I just don't think that Blackwell has the handle that you want a Big 10 PG to have. He's great, probably my favorite player, but it's a shortcoming we have to live with because the rest of his game is so good.
  5. Is the hot seat always hot, even in the storage closet? Or do you have to heat it when you bring it out? Because if I was LaFleur and I saw the hot seat pulled out of the closet, maybe plugged in to heat it up, I would be concerned. I definitely wouldn't sit in it if I were him. Next, perhaps you could answer my questions about playing smashmouth football, which I think would be a penalty, probably for hands to the face.
  6. The highlighted is what I consider to be the problem with Blackwell. I don't think he is that strong with the ball. It comes from not really being a point guard, but I think asking him to play like McGee is a potential problem.
  7. Nope. I asked a question. You feel lied to. That seems like dealbreaker to me.
  8. So what keeps you here?
  9. Well, that settles it. Pat should have set us straight earlier.
  10. I know it is only one year, but it really seems as if the Big10 and SEC really devalued their conference championship games. Boise and ASU needed them to make the playoff, but OSU and ND probably enjoyed the week off. And all four bye teams losing just makes the whole thing seem off.
  11. JFC, you called the game over when it wasn't. Doesnt' matter the sport. The game wasn't over. When the Rams were on the 13 with 1:14 left, you were sure it was over? Rams were out of their element? They drove 60 yards in ten plays, and that means "the Rams couldn't do a thing"?
  12. They are both 2-score games.
  13. This reads like a Brewer game thread when MKE goes down 2-0. “Game over.”
  14. Hahaha, Detroit. 1957 gets another year further away. Fortunately you got to host a couple Super Bowls to see what they are like. Don’t let the window slam shut on your backside
  15. I don’t feel that it’s an intensity issue on D. I think refs call second halves differently in every single game
  16. https://www.espn.com/mlb/story/_/id/43447447/dodgers-shohei-ohtani-donating-500k-la-wildfire-relief Shohei donating $500k to wildfire relief. Unfortunately, $490,000 is deferred.
  17. When you watched they lost...badly? Three point loss to Michigan, six points to Illinois (I'll admit, Illinois was in control, but it was a four point game in the last three minutes). I think only the Marquette game would qualify as losing badly, and UW had the lead at halftime. Other than that, 14 wins. It's a fun team to watch, second half of last night's game notwithstanding. Their six wins in this streak have come by 9, 23, 31, 12, 21, and 2.
  18. My point is not the sport. My point is don't have the youngest team and then use that as an excuse. You really didn't understand that?
  19. I can get behind this. Detroit fans went from inconsequential to insufferable so quickly. Buffalo fans are insane but more humble. And to add on to yourout's post above, Washington winning so quickly after Snyder sold the team would be such a great ending to that pile of crap's ownership legacy.
  20. I hate that statement. The Packers are the youngest. It's a feature, not a bug. Calipari used to complain about his young teams at Kentucky, when all he did was chase one-and-dones. Don't want to be the youngest team? There are ways to fix that.
  21. Hopefully there is a Pauley Pavilion left standing. The fires are touching Brentwood. I think UCLA has more important issues to worry about right now.
  22. What is Contreras' choice? Get his feelings hurt, not play as well, and affect future earnings? If the Brewers offer him the most money when he hits free agency, the 2025 arb hearing will be only a memory. I felt the same way when Burnes was whining. His only choice was to pitch as well as he possibly could. And William, if you get to the playoffs again, don't OPS .333.
  23. Are MLB teams getting any money from all the gambling on the sport?
  24. SMH when I see the Orioles getting praise for drafting 1st, 5th, 2nd, 1st and 11th for five straight years. I know there are no sure things in baseball, but those are some nice apples to get a bite at.
  25. It seems to be agreed that the projections often underestimate the Brewers, whether it is due to not having enough data on young players, or the projections not valuing defense properly. Can one of you smart people compare the 2024 projections vs 2024 reality and tell me how many games they will win this year based on that? If projected 2024 WAR was x, and final 2024 WAR was x+3, that ended up with 93 wins. May be useless, but I would appreciate it.
