  1. At the risk of sounding like I’m not a real fan, one who accepts mediocrity, I’m enjoying the heck out of this season.
  2. Same crowd that celebrates a 2-run home run by complaining it should have been a 3-run home run.
  3. “Reds are playing very good baseball right now.” 8-6 since ASB, 6-6 their last 12, 2-3 this week.
  4. Butterfly effect. Two men on, there is no guarantee the same pitch to Turang would have happened. If Siegler hadn’t been picked off, Turang may have grounded into a double play. Or Murphy may have had him bunt. 3-0 is pretty cool.
  5. Great tribute to Ryne Sandberg by the Cubs. Losing 4-3. That’s what you write in the scorebook on a groundout to 2nd. It’s almost poetic
  6. Remember, if you throw out the 11-game winning streak, the Brewers had a losing record in July (6-7). I’m concerned.
  7. IT WAS JUST A TICKLE!
  8. Other than hearing he had a sore arm earlier this spring, is there another arm issue I am unaware of?
  9. I don't know why people want to include non-deadline trades in a deadline thread. Priester wasn't anything resembling a deadline deal. Vaughn is deadline-adjacent, I'll give you that. I am disappointed they couldn't get a better infielder to replace Siegler or Monasterio. That seems like it could have been done for an acceptable cost. The deadline is its own entity. It's the last chance to change your roster, whether you are buying or selling. The pressures are different, the decisions are different. It's a picture of where the franchise's current health is. I think the health of the franchise is fine. Their approach to the deadline is the equivalent of eating right and exercising. Not sexy, but conducive to long-term health. Contrast that with the Padres fad diet, lap band, and liposuction approach to the deadline. Gets some noticeable results quickly, but who knows if it will last.
  10. A player can pass every test and still either reinjure themselves or be more sore than anticipated after coming off the IL. They limit a pitcher's innings after coming off the IL all the time. Doesn't mean they aren't healthy. The same thing may happen to Chourio in a week or so when he comes back. Sal looked ready to play when he went 2-4 with a homer on Monday. It's possible that this a desire to get Gilderoy Lockridge in the game.
  11. Can I have your stuff if you do?
  12. Redszone is not happy about it. They have some bad-hitting 3rd basemen. Hayes might be the worst of the lot.
  13. Freddy is really proving the adage that you are only as hot as that day's starting pitcher.
  14. You always come through @sveumrules. Thanks
