  1. I hope not talking me in about this poster of whom you speak of.
  2. I'm just glad we can quit being unhappy with Civale's trade request, and move on to complaining about the return for him.
  3. Man, some of you guys are taking this trade request hard. The teammates are probably fine. In fact, they probably understand more than any of us will ever know.
  4. I read it as throwing in the 70 mph range.
  5. Allow me to nitpick, please. The tweet says “request” and “ask”. Changing it to “demand” can color the discussion.
  6. Yeah, but if you take out those 20 wins it’s a really bad record. (They are 3-11 with me in the crowd since beginning of 2024, so that’s what it feels like for me)
  7. Saw the Braves play on Friday when I was in San Francisco. Schwellenbach pitched, looked good, but ATL committed two errors and a WP in the first and were behind the 8-ball all night. Hope it happens again. I sure like that Atlanta lineup, though
  8. Dave Roberts is letting Sauers get torched. Guy hasn’t thrown more than 82 pitches this year. He is on 111 in the sixth, having given up 9 runs and 13 hits to the Padres. This site would melt down if Murphy did that. Kike Hernandez is now in to finish the sixth
  9. Don’t look now, but thanks to a 32-18 record in their last 50 games, the NL Central has the best cumulative record in MLB, at 13 games over .500. NL Central +13 AL East +10 AL Central +5 NL West 0 NL West -13 AL West -15 The two leagues are exactly .500 in interleague.
  10. Texted my friend when lineup came out. Called out Monasterio and Cameron as evidence they wouldn’t win today. 3 rbis later, I’ll recant.
  11. Cincinnati and St. Louis are a special kind of hot. Something about being river towns, I guess
  12. Would you take your chances if: Every game, your start goes 6 innings, and gives up 3 earned runs. In other words, what was once called a quality start. Every starter would have a 4.50 ERA. Would you take that? Would that be considered a bunch of number 5 starters? In my mind, it means the team is in every game going to the late innings. I would take that.
  13. I just want one Corbin Carroll on the Brewers. Is that too much to ask? Will also take a Steven Kwan.
  14. Felt impossible at the start of the Phillies series two days ago
  15. Even the 1988 Orioles had 11 wins on May 31 after starting 0-21. They were 11-39. Rockies only have 9 wins as we begin June.
  16. Who needs a bullpen? Can I officially be concerned that the bullpen is in danger of getting rusty?
  17. I would guess that hitters have to commit to swinging earlier and fighting off a pitch is better than having the bat on your shoulder as you watch strike 3 go by. I bet it's easier to take a pitch at 85 than it is at 95. Hitters are in protect mode even before two strikes.
  18. Allow me to vote for sweeping the Cardinals and Tigers to end the 2018 season, which set up game 163.
  19. I guess, if Luis Urias makes you happy, go for it. I know that no one suggested that it's a game-changer, but that's such a minimal tick upward it does nothing for me. I would just roll with who we got if it means giving up anything for Urias. And that is either Urias. The Brewers aren't a Luis Urias away from contending. The trade would have to be at least of the impact of the Adames trade. Give up something real for a significant upgrade. No, I don't know who that would be.
