  1. I try to with Shaw every day it seems. 3-4-5 Batting 3rd 49 42 190 175 20 39 8 0 10 32 3 0 14 43 .223 .280 .440 .720 77 3 0 0 0 1 1 .238 90 78 Batting 4th 53 42 186 155 17 31 7 0 4 18 4 1 24 51 .200 .315 .323 .638 50 5 3 0 2 1 3 .265 73 60 Batting 5th 51 42 184 165 16 33 3 0 8 19 0 0 17 48 .200 .283 .364 .646 60 10 2 0 0 0 0 .229 73 77 Sub 210 BA Sub 295 OBP Sub 670 OPS For reference: Arcia is batting 250/.318/.704 I'm down right excited to put Hiura in the freaking 3 hole at this point. Not that I expect him to be a savior but I also don't expect a .223/.280/.720 slash line. Other than Yelich 2nd, just DFS our 6th batter every night. Batting 6th 54 42 176 149 23 44 9 0 9 25 2 0 23 43 .295 .394 .537 .931 80 3 2 0 1 0 1 .357 148 150 Basically you can talk round and round in circles about the batting order but through 43 games we might as well have played Cain Yelich Hiura Erceg Arcia and we'd have been better off until the 6 hole.
  2. For those who expect Shaw to wake up...Cain 4-4 moved his BA up .017 To get Shaw back to the .240 range... by that math. He needs to get the next 18. And Jusus is over 1000 ops and avg over 300 in his last 15 games. Yet he's mendoza.
  3. And Thames is still a defensive hack no matter where you play him. I wonder which will change first? Again, so is Aguilar. Shaw's just a hack this year. He's did this in Boston and that's part of the reason we got him. It's nonsensical to trade Thames under an assumption Shaw will just snap out of it. This is a contending team. We need Moose at 3rd, Hiura at 2b and 2 options at 1b who are killing their respective split. Thames isn't bringing us helpful pieces for 2019 via trade.
  4. Thames gotta go, I'm sure we can get a relief pitcher for him. Got 3 lottery tickets for Lind, got Aguilar off waivers, but Thames is bad and we can get a reliever for him.
  5. Coca with as many HRs this year as he had in 16-18 combined. Anyone who watches the kids in Appleton have a scouting report on this kid. He's tiny and the HR pop seems to be picking up. Is it bat speed or what?
  6. No, they won't be battling each other right now for PT if Hiura comes up. He clearly wants to move Shaw to the backup 1b and play Moose at 3rd. He doesn't realize that limits Shaw's possible defensive impact and lessens his Dwar. His Owar is terrible right now so he wants to CAN a guy who has career 821 ops vs RHP because he's sure Shaw will be just fine.
  7. We all know Thames is a terrible defender... and worse yet they play him in the OF where he might as well be Santana. It's absurd. That's on CC not Thames. Now Aquilar sucks on defense too so when he's not hitting he's worthless as well. Shaw has shown great things for 2.5 years and he's terribly lost like he was down the stretch of his 1st year. No one's cutting Shaw but assuming he'll be fine is nonsense. He's had half a year of garbage before at the plate. We can't afford a half a year of garbage. Thames is at least doing what's expected of him. Playing RF and pointing at his war because he's out of position is ridiculous.
  8. I’m not crapping on him, I like the guy. I just think he ends up being the odd man out when Hiura eventually comes up. Shaw has options. It was also directed at 82 cuz he bases decisions off the last 2 things he saw. Dropped ball, didn't score the runner from 3rd. MISERABLE BUM!
  9. But let's crap on the guy who put up an 877 and a 783 ops year back to back who hasn't fallen off a cliff? He dropped a ball and shouldn't have to play in the OF where he sucks. Don't worry the guy who's looked completely lost since the start of the season will rebound though. No signs of it... but he can't stay THIS BAD so I'll go out on a ledge and say he'll get batter. Look he's better he's not swinging.
  10. Aguilars been hitting well of late and have far more confidence in Shaw snapping out of it than I do in anything Thames does. You want to keep him on the team, fine. I don't think he belongs. and that's a .550 ops and a sub 625 ops in the lineup over a .850.
  11. And who exactly is hitting at 1b? What does that have to do with Thames being a wretch? Maybe that he's still better than Jesus and Shaw?
  12. His Ks are a touch up and his BBs are way down. He's snapped at himself quite a few times lately for swinging at ball 4. I don't see that as injury related.
