  1. Arcia... Burnes you can't middle middle FBs This umps unforgiving low strike zone is not kind to Corbin. Good lord ptc 3 slider is a clear strike. ARCIA... what is up with you this inning. Got lucky on that last slider.
  2. And since it hasn't been said BUCKS SPOILER BELOW 2 games in Boston, 2 wins in Boston. 3-1 MKE.
  3. Way to grind through it Chacin. ERA has dropped .21 today with 5IP where he had nothing.
  4. FB, 8 straight sliders, FB challenging the pithcer. 10 pitches. Enough nonsense. 1 more IP Chacin.
  5. Shock and awe. He's struggling tonight. That's clear as day. His struggles in general are overblown due to 2.1IP 6ER vs LAD. He's right around 4 era without that and he started last season in the same vacinity before ending the year at 3.5 era.
  6. He’s our worst starter now. I know you are excited about the kids but that's just not true.
  7. Seems like every batter either the FB or Slider fails Chacin. Hasn't had both pitches in the same AB all night.
  8. Yelich got a Super Star strike zone on that AB. And seemed to think the whole lower zone was going to be called a ball.
  9. Yeah. And Burnes. I like the current composition of our staff. A lot can change in the next few innings though. Yeah we have Guerra Burnes Houser and Burch who can all stretch to 3ip quite easily. Then multiple guys who can go 2. Great job by moose getting 1 back. You don't get many chances vs this guy and a lead off doubles a pretty good opportunity.
  10. Houser makes sense for tomorrow. He threw 1.1 vs the mets on 5/4. He can stretch a bit tomorrow.
  11. Hiura up to 9bb and 8k in his last 13 games And 6 HRs. It's hard to fit him on the MLB roster before 2020 without moving someone, but he sure is making it tempting.
  12. I put the numbers of his last 10 up on 5/4 I do believe he has 8ks in his last 12 games and 7 of his 8 BBs have also come in that span. On a 12 game run of 8k to 7bb. He started with 24k to 1bb in his first 19 games. He's just dominating right now.
  13. I'll add guys that haven't been mentioned. (but yes to Rasmussen Weston Segovia and Lazar) Yeison Coca: Turang is getting all the attention and this kids slipping under the radar. Putting up a very nice start for an also 19 year old. He's not a young stash anymore, he's a real prospect now. Mario Feliciano: Last years injury plagued season is behind him and he's younger and nearly neck and neck with the older Payton Henry. Zero Errors in the split time C gig. Time to start getting him back on the top 25. Lucas Erceg: Has been near the top and while he kept advancing up the system, he kept sliding in my rankings. Started to near the edge of the top 10. We all had him 8th. Deserves a bump with the way he's going. 2019 he looks like the 2nd rounder we hoped on his 1st year. Leads SA in BBs. OPS 881. Haven't seen numbers like this since A ball in 2016. On pace for 30 bombs. He just turned 24.
  14. Hiura going from thriving at AAA to dominating AAA .394 in his last 10. 8k helping his K rate drop 5bb when he has 6bb on the entire year 5 HRs Shaw, don't look over your shoulder buddy.
  15. Since we are charting him. 5/3 was indeed his next outing 2.2 ip 1h 1 bb 3k 0 era 47pc-30stk 13.1 ip 1.35 era .75 whip GO/AO 1.22 Biloxi... why not!
  16. It's nice to see him channeling his inner Todd Helton for a few days. I'd still want him and Gamel 50/50
  17. Why does hook get credit for developing these young arms when they are not developed? 1-2 pitch repertoires who lack control is not developed. Maybe he did a great job at making them succeed with only that vs inferior competition but they certainly are not developed. We expected Woodruff to start his path to a starter 2 years ago. Just now, he looks like he might be ready. He got 8 starts in 2017. 4 in 2018. Doesn't seem to be holding him back. I think its about time we slow down on Burnes and Peralta.
  18. Our pitching staffs ERA with our actual starters, Chacin Davies Anderson Gio Woodruff is 3.98. It would be lower if Gio and Anderson had more than 3 starts. Hader Guerra Jeffress Claudio Albers combined ERA is 3.4. The other 3 just have to avoid being completely awful and our staff ERA is right at 4. Hart, Williams and insert someone pitching around 4.5 in the pen accomplishes that. We went through this same early season shuffle last year. 17-16 is 2 games worse than where the team was at 33 games last year. Grandal and Moose were not on the team last year. Aguilar is waking. Thames is doing plenty well enough. Gamel is there to make Braun a 50/50 player. If Shaw continues like this you look to Keston. It's time to tighten up the playbook, stop with the ideas and roll with what is working. That'll win. The goal is 4.9 offense and 4.0 pitching and defense. The offense is over 4.9 and it has a few black holes. The pitching in there to be a 4.0 era team from today forward.
  19. Last year at this time MKE was 19-14. MKE is 2 games worse. Last year MKE got starts from, Chacin(35), Anderson(30), Guerra(26), Suter(18), Miley(16), Peralta(14), Davies(13), Gio(5), Woodruff(4), Wilkerson(1). These 2 were great in 21 starts Miley 2.57 (cheap cast off) Gio 2.13 (rental and cheap now) The vast majority amassed an ERA that grouped together around 4.0 Chacin 35 at 3.50 (7 mil is cheap) Wilkerson 1 at 3.60 (filler) Anderson 30 at 3.93 (8 mil is cheap) Guerra 26 at 4.27 (scrap heap find cheap) Peralta 14 at 4.39 (kid) Suter 18 at 4.56 (cheap junk baller) Davies 13 at 4.77 (no flash guy who not be a highly paid pitcher) The bad Woodruff 4 at 6.89 (kid) Chacin, Anderson, Davies, Gio are still here. They are cheap. Davies 6 starts 1.38 Anderson 2 starts 1.87 Gio 1 start 3.60 Woodruff 6 starts 5.17 Chacin 7 starts 5.24 (last year through 6 he was a 4.54) He had 2 bad starts early this year and last year. LAD this year devastated his ERA. It's very simple. Last year we pieced together a modest starting 5 that lacked talent, youth, potential and they gave the team plenty of substance. In the place of last years Peralta, this years Woodruff is headed in the right direction. 4 are still here. The team rushed Burnes. The team rushed Peralta. The team even rushed Woodruff a bit. The results so far have been disastrous for a team looking to contend. Many of the pen pieces have also been disastrous. Last year at this time we were cussing out Logan, and Drake. However, Jeffress, Dan Jennings, Taylor Williams, Jacob Barnes, Albers were all dazzling. That's Jeffress and stuff getting the job done at a high high level. There was no Hader or Knebel early. This year it's Hader and Guerra getting the job done. No one is dazzling. The pen has been nothing but misses behind Hader Jeffress Guerra Claudio and Albers. The rotation is there to equal last years roster if we simply stop pressing kids into roles they are not ready for yet. It's not pretty. It's not sexy. It's substance. That's who they were. That's who they are. That's not the future. They are trying to be the team that wins that is also developing their future. You can't go in 2 directions at the same time and win. Take 2 kids out of the rotation. Either develop them or put them in the pen. Pick 1 direction and go with it. Win, or build. Stop rushing starters into starting roles. If you rush a pitcher to the bigs its for the pen. It honestly kinda fascinates me that a "small market" team who had a starting group within 1 win of the WS, a group of nobody low priced arms throwing 4.0 era ball, is preoccupied with the slim odds of grooming an ace. They've pulled Chacin, Guerra, Miley, Gio seemingly out of thin air. It's a long road to get these kids to results like that. A 24 year old, a 22 year old who are not well rounded. Are not armed to face big league hitters multiple times. And we expect them to succeed? Eventually, when they are prepared to but they aren't ready yet. They pull a 31 year old out of the rotation who has been starting since he was 26 and NEVER had an ERA north of 4.4. Our starting 5 needs to be around 4. Our pen needs have a 4 guys right around 4 and 2 good and 2 lethal. That's the build.
