  1. Yeah thats strike 3 and 4 clearly... 4 plain as day. We need this human element.
  2. Well drake was a roogy who we used as a normal rp. Logan is a loogy who we use as a typical rp. We need to stop adding specialists and not using them in their role. Just bring back barnes and be done with it. You should probably check out Boone’s stats vs LH batters His stats vs LHB is irrelevant. He's brought in to be a loogey. Drake's old role. Like drake they dont use him as a loogey. They use him in high leverage and he fails. It's been a doubled edged sword with the both of them... not only are they used wrong but they also can't do the job they are supposed to handle. We love running bp guys multi innings... we found jennings... drake and logan types are obsolete in this model. And blaming Williams for Logan is evoking anchorman quotes. They score 40% of the time 100% of the time. Sure barnes williams play with fire but they also have the stuff to get themselves out of harms way.
  3. Well drake was a roogy who we used as a normal rp. Logan is a loogy who we use as a typical rp. We need to stop adding specialists and not using them in their role. Just bring back barnes and be done with it.
  4. Albers Knebel available... or just let Williams sink or swim.... turn to logan 1st... again. He can go... I'd rather have Barnes. You want a loogy use him as a loogy. You want to use him like a normal RLP... cut him and just use a normal RLP. Its not like the bp is all righty.
  5. 9th... guys waiting to be walked. Frustrating. Passed some great location fbs ahead in the count. Crazy that Chacin Guerra are comfortably sub 4 now. Saw chacin near 4 but 3.6... guerra has been stunning. Blah davies and anderson... no nelson and we are losing 2-1 to AZ.
  6. So calling him an AS reliever before the season was not wrong? I coulda swore I was told it's wrong.
  7. Chacin getting back under 4 and Guerra being lights out has made this run we are on.
  8. Great way to kill your pen. 64 pitches 2 down 1 on 1st... up 4-2... genius.
  9. Eh I've been busy. Now that I've welcomed him back he'll be fine. I know the offense has been lacking there but I really dont have an issue with catcher. We have a lot of mediocre depth that defends from well to decent. Still getting very little from Villar despite him hitting 300 and Arcia's bat has been just as bad as our catchers. 1 of those 3 have to impact this team positively. SS and C are closest defensively.
  10. Do you think he's got legit MLB stuff? Not that he came out of nowhere, but I don't think many saw him mowing down hitters at AA as a 22-year-old. He got 16 points in our preseason 25... I had him at 22. Still the success in AA is impressive. Even if he's on that Wilkerson Perrin Derby teir he's pretty promising.
  11. I like suter but have been trying to keep him out of the rotation all year.
  12. Time to start sorting out Woodruff then on to Peralta and Burnes. Suter is a pen guy. We have strong options.
  13. I'm trying to figure out if there's even room for Logan. Guerra is stunning people again. Woodruff Peralta Burnes are all making a case for the rotation and Ortiz isn't far off. Suter has proven to be a good long man and Williams is oozing with potential. 1-2 pen spots... williams suter logan 1 rotation spot... peralta burnes woodruff nelson. Pitching is loaded.
  14. His control issues and 2 pitch FB heavy approach is a starter common trait? His elevated pitch counts in relief appearances and 5ip per start vs inferior competition shouldn't be a consideration? That's not evidence? There's zero evidence he'll succeed as a starter. There are certainly signs of why he could struggle as a starter. There's also building proof of his worth as a RP. That pushes us past all we have is opinions. Mod edit: again, stick to a baseball opinion and stop telling others how to post.
  15. "I'm merely saying this start doesn't help those who thought he was a MUST ADD or the KEY to putting a playoff caliber rotation together." Nor does it hurt those who thought he was a must add... but "I just don't think he's a difference maker." Is your take so assign value to this start. Davies has been a 9 era guy in April 2 straight years and finished at 4.0 or under. Cobbs 1st start happened after a few rotations passed. People stated he might not be ready due to his late addition... you dont say. I was very pro cobb and he'd have to be pretty bad or pretty amazing for 3 years to settle that debate before the full 4 is complete. Not 1 start. Not 4 ip. 4 years.
  16. CC already stated Burnes and Peralta are options for June. He was asked by a reporter in preseason and gave that stunningly candid response. I think they want to keep woodruff down a bit and get Burnes and Peralta past super 2... but I dont see a way that 2 of them won't be in the rotation come June. Chacin Suter Guerra are the 3-4-5 right now and it would take health from Anderson Davies and 2 of those other 3 to flourish to hold off the kids. Its not just Burnes Woodruff at this point. Peralta's trying to jump them both and so far so good. 3 starts... 5.333 per... 1.13 era 1 whip 11.25k/9. 3-0
  17. I could be wrong but Hader is an all star reliever in the very near future, I think, maybe. It's just my opinion but throwing that away to see if he can start is a big risk, possibly. I had wondered for a long time why I'd see football draft guys say... Darnold is flawed and I think he's worth the 15th pick in my mock but he's also very good and could go with the top overall pick. I thought they were wishy washy hacks who talked out of both sides of their mouth because they didn't know anything... but I've learned its to appease the proofers. Mod edit: please stick to your own opinions (as above) and you'll be fine.
  18. Anderson Nelson Davies (the non april version) Burnes Peralta Woodruff is ready but I think he's 6th. Ortiz could bump 4 of the 6 in front of him. Then Kodi Jankins sitting pretty in AA. With Brown Ponce starting weakly with plenty of talent. It's a non-april Davies, hurt Nelson, Peralta Burnes waiting game. Chacin blah, suter meh... Guerra has done his job at least. I've been saying for awhile... just stay .500. Being this beat up and being .500 is a big deal. Erceg being great is a big deal. The sticks in the system aren't very deep but is Lara Ray can gain some status back and Stokes can keep climbing this system gets very deep. Not top heavy... but deep.
  19. Pretty solid so far, doesn't walk many, ERA of 2.16, coming into today had a FIP under 2. But sure, if you want to sum him up by one bad pitch. You are correct but I was a very bad pitch. Never should've been near there. I'm honestly concerned about who is our closer. Barnes seems like he doesn't want it. Albers is not ideal. Hader does many things so putting him in a role is bad. Williams is still raw. Kinda feel like we need to put Jeffress there... but yikes. Group a whole has been very good. But we miss our knockout guy.
  20. Lara isn't letting anyone out shine him right now. Its a great start for a guy who is still only 20. Didn't see it coming but glad he's showing some success. Ray did nothing to earn a promotion but he's had a great 5 game tear here. It's at least reassuring. Erceg having a huge start and Stokes is being very patient. Ortiz Kodi are off to blistering starts. Peralta has a weak game and that's a lot of fun as a weak game. 1.13 era 1 whip 16 ip 3 starts and 20k... sheesh. Has the look of a guy who's about to jump Burnes and Woodruff. Woodruff I could have seen coming but Burnes too... wow. Segovia's looking real interesting. A shame he's in the OF as he's going to need a lot more power to be a big OF. Tucker Neuhaus is starting to look like a prospect as well.
  21. Pitching Drake... Jeffress for 1 guy... but wouldn't put in Hader for 1 guy and the knock out? Trying to not lose... refusing to try to win. All it did was beat our pen worse.
  22. Yep. Call up Houser and keep him in the pen for long relief. Cant without an injury. Why didn't we give the ball to hader vs Garcia. We are taxed... win now or call it. Stupid stupid loss.
  23. Ball game... sctew this team... CC great choices... way to try ... whatever the crap you were doing. Drake up 1 Watch williams take those same guys out. Yank him for the cricket hurler... Leave hoover in instead of going for the throat Hell throw hader for 1 guy... try to end it... your leading you dope.
