  1. This team is 29 games over .500. Craigtember has come early and often this year!
  2. When else am I ever going to get the chance to post a pic of 1992 Brewers stud Kevin Seitzer?
  3. Yeah it kinda sucks to have to play San Fran and Pittsburgh without him but I'd rather he be ready to go for the back half of the season. Elgton Jenkins is already a star in the making, and the first half of this season is going to prove it. Wouldn't surprise me in the least if Jenkins flips over to RT after Bahk comes back, and starts there for the next decade.
  4. Travis Etienne is going to eventually be a pretty electric NFL player as well. He's got a little Alvin Kamara in him I think.
  5. That was for the 2020 season. For 2021 I believe it goes back to the normal rules. https://www.mlb.com/glossary/transactions/postseason-roster-rules-eligibility So basically Nunez IS eligible for postseason play, as he's currently in the system. He'd just need to be replacing an injured player if added to the 40-man roster after today.
  6. When I was a kid, I always thought that Jerry Reuss, especially when he was winding down his career playing for the Brewers, looked like that kindly high school physics teacher who was only months away from retirement. He's somehow only 72 today, yet has looked that age for 40 years.
  7. Not likely unless he is on the 40-man by tomorrow. Pretty sure they just have to be in the system. Don't necessarily need to be on the 40-man to qualify for postseason play. I could be wrong though.
  8. Charlie OOOOOOOOOOO
  9. Nunez is a somewhat interesting bat to add to the system. Only 27 years old, and hit 31 bombs for the Orioles in 2019, and had an .816 OPS last season. Has played 3B, 1B and the corner OF (none of which especially well) in his career.
  10. Relatively even splits, but at least his isn't an embarrassment against left-handed pitching. Might be someone to keep an eye on.
  11. The Brewers obviously have a tough week with the Giants and Cardinals. But the Reds first face a Cardinals team holding onto its playoff chances for dear life, and a Tigers team which has played OK in the second half. No gimmes.
  12. My man!
  13. The Reds were supposed to sweep the Marlins. We might have been misinformed. Were we also misinformed about the Brewers winning a series in Minnesota? I get that you are going to give the Reds a chance until they are mathematically eliminated, but their route to a division title is getting pretty perilous at this point.
  14. Brewers great John Vander Wal
  15. Mighty Reds offense with 2 hits on the afternoon to boot! If the Reds are gonna make a run, they are running very low on time to do it.
  16. I usually don't start scoreboard watching till September 1, but we're close enough. The Reds are currently getting shut-out 2-0, with one hit against the Marlins in the bottom of the 7th.
  17. Oh, I have no doubt that there are people doing that. Personally, I think that is ludicrous, though.
  18. Speaking from experience as a Type 1 diabetic, testing supplies are outrageously expensive ... to the point of costing around $1.50 to $2 per test strip to test your blood sugar if you are buying them over the counter. When you test 6-7 times per day, that adds up pretty quick. Obviously a lot of people don't test that often, though, and when their health insurance dictates a certain number of strips per month, they are often left with a surplus. These companies purchase people's surplus for roughly 25% of the over-the-counter cost, then turn around and sell them for about 50-60% of the over the counter cost. It helps those who are uninsured or underinsured. But it is a little shady.
  19. Isaiah McDuffie is probably the only other 2021 draftee on the bubble and I think he’s the beneficiary of Kamal Martin’s surprising decline. My gut says the Packers keep Van Lanen over last year’s 6th round pick Jake Hanson because they have more depth on the interior. McDuffie apparently graded out higher than any other Packers defender this preseason according to Pro Football Focus. I think he makes it as a reserve that will eventually see time in some packages on defense.
  20. I LOVED Jim Abbott growing up, and remember being absolutely stoked when he signed with the Brewers. His final season didn't exactly go as I had hoped it would, but he did have a few moments in his time pitching for Milwaukee, including a couple base knocks, which was impressive enough. Good choice!
  21. Love certainly didn't look transcendent, but put him out there with Jones, Adams, MVS, Tonyan and the starting O-Line, and he'll be able to move the ball. He's a good athlete, and can make all the throws. Decision making was a tad suspect, but that is common with young QBs. I have no problem with the prospect of him being the top backup and seeing meaningful time this year. Certainly a step up from the Kizers and Hundleys of the world.
  22. Oh, but we were told repeatedly that the Padres took the Brewers to the cleaners on this deal. This was never a deal that was going to be able to be judged off of immediate returns.
  23. Castellanos can go ahead and sign with an AL team this offseason too, while we're at it. Won't be sad to potentially see him gone.
