  1. NFC North looking like the worst division in the NFL so far.
  2. Nothing more than that? You must have missed the first half. The defense was horrendous. 7-8 yards on almost every run. Receivers running open in the middle of the field, with our bend and break zone defense. With 2 scoring drives > 7 minutes each, they were the ones who put the offensive in a hole following the first quarter. It didn’t help with a rusty and desperate Rodgers and a weak Offensive line. It was over after the 2 INTs. The defense never seems to improve in any season. Need new scouts or a new GM/ President. Joe Barry was a curious hire all along, and looks like a terrible one now. Defense looked exactly the same as it did last year. My expectations were very low to begin with I guess.
  3. Gary and Z Smith got some pressure. P Smith was nonexistent.
  4. Lo Cain is in the #88 Dez Bryant jersey. Brett Anderson is wearing the retro Alstott Bucs jersey.
  5. You’re right. It probably is. Perhaps I’ve held him to a higher standard the past 2.5 years because I didn’t like the pick. It’s beyond me why you’d hand out a pair of massive FA contracts to edge rushers and then use the #12 pick to draft another edge rusher. Even if he breaks out later this year, they’ll only get him cheap for 1.5 years. You can't have enough good pass rushers in today's NFL.
  6. Terrible game plan and an atrocious performance from Rodgers. That's why they lost. Sure defense wasn't great, but the Saints had short fields all game due to Rodgers' terrible decisions. Really nothing more to it than that.
  7. He was one of the guys I actually thought looked good out there. I’ll be interested in see his game score. He might grade out just fine, but they could have really used a big 3rd (or 4th) down stop from a guy they invested so much in. He seems like a decent guy and his potential is obvious, but when you pick a non-QB with the #12 overall pick, he needs to be an instant starter. I’ve never liked that pick for that reason. LOL Rashan Gary was the LEAST of the team's problems today. This just seems like a sour grapes excuse to rip on a move you didn't like because you are unhappy with the result.
  8. Maybe holding out 40 guys for the whole preseason wasn't such a great idea.
  9. Continuing to win while the Reds are a raging dumpster fire helps.
  10. Ned Yost!
  11. At this pace, it is very possible that the division could be clinched by sometime next weekend. After that, I couldn't care less what the Reds do. In fact, I wouldn't mind them sneaking in and grabbing a Wild Card spot, as they'd be taking it from an actual good team. The Cardinals are pretty bad this year, but that possible Cardinals playoff juju still scares me.
  12. Reds lose! Dale Sveum big moment time!
  13. Cardinals just took a 6-4 lead on the Reds in the bottom of the 8th on a Arenado HR. That Reds pen is so, so bad. If this holds, it could be a double whammy night for the magic number.
  14. Bart Winkler is kinda the king of the hot take sports talk shock jock idiots. This reaction isn't surprising. He is the definition of a casual baseball fan. Except this isn't a hot take. Combined no hitters are just not any fun, especially when your starter Ks 14, allows one walk, and you have one of the best closers in baseball coming in fresh. There was no doubt Hader wouldn't give up a hit. As I pointed out earlier, I sure as heck had fun watching the end of this one. Watching my son, who pitches for his youth league team, live every pitch with Burnes, and me try to explain why Burnes was pulled with an inning to go, is something I will never forget. Watching him on pins and needles while Hader mowed down the Indians in the 9th was special. Hader is is favorite player, and my son was stoked that Hader had the chance to be a part of this historical event. He's devouring every bit of postgame coverage as I type. So I disagree. This night has been fun. A lot of fun. I'm sorry you don't agree.
  15. How many hits did the Indians have tonight? That's what I thought. The Brewers just pitched a no-hitter. Yes it counts. If you choose not to acknowledge it, that's on you. But history will disagree. I think every one of us would have loved to see Burnes come out in the 9th. But the realist in many of us knew that wasn't going to happen. There was absolutely no way they were going to let Burnes pitch 130+ pitches. It just isn't the way the game is played anymore. The game has evolved. I'm glad you found a way to enjoy it. Seriously. I feel nothing, I can't even enjoy the win right now much less a combined no hitter because no hitters have just been rendered meaningless within the borders of this state. I've never been that impressed with combined no hitters anyway, they're not the same. They're nice in that your team likely won the game but not much beyond that. You certainly have the right to your opinion. I do hope that your disappointment does eventually wear off, and you can recognize the historical significance of what happened tonight. 34 years!!! I sure as heck hope that we don't have to wait that long for another one.

  18. I don't get as excited watching games as I did as a teen either. But I just watched the Brewers pitch a no hitter while standing in front of the TV next to my 12-year-old baseball crazy son, and saw him well up with tears as Omar made that final throw to 1st. Enjoyment evolves as well.
  19. This is a historical team, and this is another feather to add to the cap. What a wonderful season to be a Brewer fan. Craigtember indeed.
  20. Here's an obscure one ... Nellie Cruz right after the first hit of his career, and only hit of his Brewer career. Way back in 2005. Before Braun's debut!
  21. The kid fan in my agrees with you. It would be awesome to see Burnes get it. But the big picture fan in me sees the logic in this.
  22. Disagree completely. A no-hitter is a no-hitter. And the Brewers haven't had one, combined or not, since 1987.
