  1. That's interesting. I'm type 1 myself. Just had a doctor appointment yesterday and it wasn't even brought up. I did do the automated sign-up through my clinic's website, and filled out the form listing my issues in regards to qualifying. I too just had an appointment with my endocrinologist last week, and asked about it, and he couldn't really give me much more information than "keep calling". I am honestly extremely surprised I got a call. That would be my suggestion to you as well ... keep calling. If it helps, I am getting mine through Marshfield Clinic.
  2. Not a huge loss for them, IMO. Tyler Johnson and Scotty Miller are both quality receivers. I do expect Alexander to shadow Godwin almost exclusively now, though. A key matchup is going to be King on Evans.
  3. Just got a call from my local clinic, and I'm scheduled to go in for the first round of the COVID vaccine on Feb. 5. Pretty stoked about it. Hopefully there's a light at the end of the tunnel now. Disclaimer: I am only 40, but as a Type 1 diabetic and a part of the local media where I live, I was deemed "worthy" I guess. Either that, or there are so many anti-vaxxers up in northern Wisconsin that I moved up the list through attrition.
  4. Not really an "add" as Profar was a Padre last year. Just isn't a loss.
  5. I'll take that over what we have currently at 3B. I wouldn't at the expense of extending a guy like Woodruff. That deal for an average player would really hamstring the Brewers moving forward. The Brewers are a team that needs to pick and choose on deals like this, and handing a player like Moose $16 million a year over four years is a huge gamble.
  6. They really don't. Moose, for instance, was signed Feb 19 2019. Free agents are regularly signed after the start of Spring Training. Action has picked up, but there are still a ton of free agent options out there. Speaking of Moose, damn I would love to work out a trade with Reds to get him back. Why the hell didnt we just sign him to a big contract after the 2nd season???? Because he's a 32-year-old corner infielder who, despite the love that a lot of Brewer fans have, is pretty much an average player. He also signed for a guaranteed $64 million, and proceeded to hit .230 with 8 HRs in 2020.
  7. I think you're really overstating the problem Josh Jackson is. He's been at worst average since he's come in. We're just pretty solid at GB and he doesn't get a lot of snaps. You're acting like Jackson is Gunter or one of those awful DB's were had when we went to Atlanta in the NFCCG and Gunter was the guy who covered Julio. Josh Jackson has been a healthy scratch these past few weeks. He might not be a total liability, but he’s a ‘bottom of the roster’ guy. He also started at CB when King was hurt. He's been a healthy scratch because the team has determined that other DBs on the roster are better on special teams. If King or Alexander were to go down, Jackson would be playing, because the team has viewed him all season as their third best perimeter corner.
  8. ummmmm, I did? Yes, actually. He said: "It's arguably the two most talented QBs in NFL history" And you called him out, saying: "did you just anoint Mahomes as one of the best two QBs in NFL history" Not the same thing.... Right. Not that it is true or I believe it, but you could logically make the argument that Jeff George is the most talented QB in NFL history. Dude had everything that a team looks for in a franchise NFL QB. There are also guys like Randall Cunningham who were just talent freaks of nature. You are correct. "Most talented" and "best" are two entirely different arguments. Brady is far from the most talented, when you are talking about god-given athletic talent. But it's hard to argue that he isn't the best of all time.

  10. Tellez and Vogelbach are pretty similar type hitters. Tellez is better defensively, but not substantially. Both are guys you'd want to avoid playing at 1B if you have a better defensive option.
  11. I don't think it's that La Stella is all that great so much as the free agent 3B market is a poo-poo platter of mediocrity. He's the best of a pretty sorry bunch, unless you are convinced that a 36-year-old Justin Turner can still put up solid numbers, or, perhaps more importantly, stay healthy. There are also teams looking at Marcus Semian as a potential 3B, but I have to think he's looking for SS money. One name I haven't heard a whole lot is Didi Gregorius. He turns 31 next month, is coming off a solid season, and while the bulk of his career has been spent at SS, I would imagine he'd be able to make the switch to 3B.
  12. The same reason the Brewers dumped Travis Shaw after he put up near star numbers in 2017 and 2018 ... or DFA'd Jesus Aguilar in 2019, the year after he hit 35 bombs and made the All-Star team. When you don't perform, and you are not a superstar-level talent, you are always going to be replaceable. MLB is a "what have you done for me lately" business. Yep makes sense. Sadly, I think Vogelbach will be our 1B in 2021... Really sad because get us a good 3B and 1B, we can compete in the NL with our pitching staff... Oh well, maybe in 2022 I guess. I will continue to be disappointed until Stearns proves me wrong and [sarcasm]makes moves for 3B and 1B.[/sarcasm] There's so many options still out there that it is impossible for me to believe they are seeing Vogelbach as a full time 1B. I think the universal DH will eventually get ratified, and even then, Vogelbach is a platoon guy that will see starts against righties at DH, and see maybe a game or two a week at 1B. If the DH for some reason doesn't get ratified, he'll see more time at 1B, but with all the versatility the Brewers seem to be going after, I doubt it's a straight platoon. I'm thinking 2-3 games a week at 1B tops.
  13. In an ideal world, sure. There is a real possibility, though, that due to financial restraints and perhaps other factors, the Brewers' roster makeup is going to be far from ideal. The Mariners have one of the top prospects in all of baseball that they just signed to a big long-term deal in Evan White. I think his presence is likely the biggest reason they decided to move on from Vogelbach. I'm not saying Vogelbach is a cornerstone piece for the Brewers moving forward. But he showed the ability (albeit in a limited sample) of being a useful player last year, and the Brewers would be stupid to not see if that can be replicated.
  14. The same reason the Brewers dumped Travis Shaw after he put up near star numbers in 2017 and 2018 ... or DFA'd Jesus Aguilar in 2019, the year after he hit 35 bombs and made the All-Star team. 15. But what happens when Lamb reverts to the player who put up a .676 OPS in 2019, or a .655 in 2018? Or the atrocious .380 he put up last season in Arizona before the Athletics picked him up? I mean, how can you determine that the 45 solid ABs Lamb had with the A's last year are the real deal, while the 58 Vogelbach had with the Brewers are a mirage? Lamb does have some solid play pretty distantly in his past, so I wouldn't mind grabbing him on a minor league deal as a flyer, but there's no way I'd feel comfortable handing that guy the starting job at 3B or 1B.
  16. I wish we would just sign someone that will actually contribute in 2021... We need a 3B and 1B, Vogelbach is not the answer at 1B. I don't disagree that the team needs more depth at both 1B and 3B. But I don't know if Vogelbach should be written off completely as an option at 1B, either. They at least need to determine if his 2020 showing with the Brewers was a fluke or not. I know his defensive time at 1B with the Brewers was very limited, but he looked fine there.
  17. They are ... but the Spiderman movies are distributed by Sony Entertainment and not Marvel Studios. It was part of the agreement that Sony signed with Disney to give Disney (Marvel Studios) creative control of the Spiderman movies after Sony's attempts with Andrew Garfield bombed. I would imagine those Spiderman movies will eventually end up on Disney+, but probably not for awhile.
  18. Agreed on the idea of it being time for the defense to step up. But I disagree on the Bucs offense looking better. Yesterday the Bucs offense pretty much looked like dog crap against the Saints. They were gifted several short fields due to terrible Brees interceptions, but nothing that offense did yesterday scared me. The only way Tampa wins is if this turns into a dogfight and they can get a couple picks off Rodgers. If we are taking the regular season into account, two of the Bucs losses were to a Saints team the Packers beat early in the season. They also lost to the Rams, who the Packers beat soundly last week. But perhaps their worst loss of the season was to a very mediocre Nick Foles-led Bears team. The Bucs are far from infallible. There are several matchups that will be keys in this game. I expect Alexander to match up on Godwin, and he'll basically be invisible. King on Evans is going to be a heck of a matchup. King really needs to step up, as does Sullivan, who is going to be shadowing AB much of the game. Amos and Savage are going to have to continue their strong coverage against Gronk and Brate. Ronald Jones is a decent back, and he's somewhat scary as a matchup. Fournette doesn't scare me a heck of a lot. But the biggest factor is going to be putting pressure on Brady. The Packers need to generate a big pass rush. If they play back in zone and give Brady time, he's going to pick them apart. Pettine need to bring his brass balls to the defensive game plan meetings this week.
  19. Gross! That whole idea is simply gross. If this turns into a toss-up game, it's going to be because the packers played like crap and did it, not because the Bucs are that good. Sure, the idea of Lucky Tom's playoff juju scares me, but make no mistake, the Packers have a much better team than the Bucs right now ... despite what happened in their regular season matchup. I think turnovers are going to be key. If Rodgers can avoid stupid interceptions (he probably should have had a couple against the Rams), and the Packers D can force Brady into a couple, the Packers are going to win.
  20. Three hours to game time. Almost seems like the time is going in reverse.
  21. Otherwise known as the "Jake Gatewood Effect"
  22. Take a look at the mlb.com top 30 international prospects for this year. Every infielder is listed as a shortstop. The positions seem to have more to do with the “best player on the high school team plays shortstop” phenomenon than any selection by the Brewers outside the norm. Maybe one day we will see a few of these players be successful but we have done an awful job over probably the last 20 plus years in regards to our international signings. Guess who was in charge of that? Ray Montgomery
  23. Well, yeah. Many state legislatures and the outgoing administration haven't hid the fact that they consider in-person school an extremely high priority.
  24. If that happens, having the makings of a super pen isn't so bad of a fallback, IMO. Hopefully Hader can continue his dominant play.
  25. Good to see that they both agreed to deals. This makes me a bit more optimistic that the team may spend some money on a few signings yet. Had both gone to arbitration, I wouldn't have been as optimistic.
