  1. Pretty slim pickings on the free agent front now. Ty France is still out there. Wilmer Flores, Ramon Urias, Adam Frazier, Tim Anderson, Luis Urias, and Gio Urshela are all utility types at this point in their careers.
  2. Projection systems hate the Brewers Water is also wet.
  3. Color me impressed.
  4. When I saw this trade floated yesterday, my immediate thought was "this makes too much sense not to happen." Williams is 100% a Brewer-type player ... versatile, good defender at multiple positions, very fast, good baserunner with a very high OBP, surprising pop, but short in stature. It will be very interesting to see if he is chosen as the "SS of the future", or if that honor goes to Cooper Pratt, who is quite the yin to Williams' yang both stature and playing-style wise. I expect that Williams will be in Milwaukee at some point this year. And the "little guy energy" the team will have with him, Durbin and Frelick will be fun to watch. Sproat is the type of high ceiling arm that the Brewers always seem to get the most out of. It wouldn't surprise me to see him make up much of Peralta's expected production as early as this season.
  5. I'd prefer getting up early on them, and piling on throughout. Something like 12-2 would be ideal. A dogfight would not be good for my blood pressure.
  6. What in the reverse psychology is this crap?
  7. Hoerner isn't bad, but Turang is a better player all around. Younger, significantly more power, better OPS. Both are good defensively, but Turang is probably more athletic. I think he has the edge.
  8. Popping champagne with the mustachioed Jeffrey Leonard!
  9. A Saturday night double whammy! First, #2 is utility infielder Kurt Bevacqua And for #1, another mustachioed utiliiy infielder, Tim Nordbrook
  10. I know that Stormin Gorman was previously featured, but not his glorious lip caterpillar. Fun fact - Gorman also wore both #44 and #20 during his long Brewers career.
  11. Finding a mustachioed #4 in Brewer history is challenging, as Molly was clean-shaven his whole career, as were the few players who previously wore the number. However, in 1996, to honor his former teammate, mustachioed former ROY and middle infielder Pat Listach donned the number.
  12. For #5, we have possibly the best Brewers-related mustache of all time (with apologies to Rollie), Boomer Scott.
  13. Would he not slot into Sunday's TBA slot?
  14. Ummm ... this idea is past its expiration date
  15. Finding a mustachioed #6 was tough. Best we have is long-forgotten backup catcher Andy Allanson.
  16. He had the opportunity to be a staple of Milwaukee's pen, but decided to piss and moan instead. Screw that guy.
  17. Cubs-Pirates now knotted at 4-4. With Boyd at 60 pitches and Oviedo at 54 through 2 innings, both teams will likely be dipping into the pen pretty quick.
  18. I'm pretty surprised that they haven't called up Robert Gasser to fill that role. They only thing I can figure is that they are trying to keep him on regular rest as part of the final stages of his rehab.
  19. Hindsight is 20/20. It was termed a mild flexor strain, and Megill himself said he thought it would be a minimum IL stay.
