  1. Smith's injury is supposedly minor, and he's a Top 5 TE when he plays, so I probably would have made that deal. Claypool isn't going to keep up the crazy trajectory he's on, and like you said, you have two Top 10 WRs in Metcalf and Brown already, a great lottery ticket in Jefferson and it appears that ODB has some terrific matchups coming up.
  2. Thanks! I was actually considering making a trade offer of one of my WRs for Chubb thinking the same thing, that he'll be good to go for the stretch run. I have Julio Jones, Michael Thomas, Chris Godwin, Justin Jefferson and DeVante Parker, so I feel really strong there. Now being able to pick him up for nothing is a pretty sweet deal. I still have to drop someone, and debating between Moss, Zach Ertz (I have Engram starting at TE) or Justin Herbert (have Josh Allen at QB)
  3. I typically make a ton of moves in my fantasy leagues to churn the bottom of my roster, which leaves me at the bottom of the waiver order. Well, for the last couple weeks, I've lucked out and haven't had to make a move in my office league, while this weekend's byes have left every other team scrambling for a kicker or a defense. I woke up this morning to see that the last-place team in the league dropped Nick Chubb (who should be ready to roll in the next couple weeks) to grab a defense. I'm sorta thinking it's a no-brainer to grab and stash him until he's ready to go, as he's got Top 5 RB upside when healthy, but is it worth using my #1 waiver priority? My other RBs are James Conner, James Robinson, Kenyan Drake, Damien Harris and Zach Moss. Thoughts?
  4. Everyone kinda knew Rodgers is an odd dude, but this really confirms it. Talk about a complete 180 personality-wise from Favre. With Favre, what you saw was what you got. There just wasn't a ton of depth there. I think when Rodgers hangs up the cleats in a few years, he's going to end of doing something completely off-the-wall, like go back to school to get a doctorate in neuroscience, or work for a think tank, or something along those lines. Or do something like he mentioned on his radio appearance yesterday, and take weird one-off film acting roles. There's no way he ends up doing anything in football. Dude is just wound a whole different way.
  5. Why is that idea so difficult for some to grasp? No one has floated masks and social distancing as a cure. If they did, they were extremely under informed and/or naive. What those actions do is simply buy time and mitigate the stress on the healthcare infrastructure while a viable vaccine is developed. What does it really matter at this point what country this originated in, or who seemingly covered it up? I agree on protecting the vulnerable. That is where our country is failing.
  6. I'd go with Cooper. That Dallas offense is still gonna roll with Dalton. John Brown is second banana to Diggs, while Cooper is the top guy with Dallas. Watch Brown put up 10/150/2 tonight now
  7. I get that, but at the same time, you just need to beat the teams on your schedule, one at a time. Kinda hard to look down the road at weeks 8 and 10. A lot can change between now and then. San Fran has had so many injuries this season, who knows who is even going to be available for that game? I'd argue that the Packers already have a win on their record against a tough, fast, physical defense in the Saints.
  8. It is my hope that the team we saw on the field yesterday was an aberration, and not what is representative of what we'll see on the field come January. If they come out looking flat again against an inferior opponent in the Texans next week, I'll be concerned. This is the first real adversity this team has had this year. I expect them to come out with guns blazing next Sunday.
  9. This team had plenty of close games and adversity on their way to 13 wins last year. The majority of those wins were close and ugly. It's just that we seem to remember those that didn't go their way, and those that, for whatever reason, they let get away from them in a major way. There is no dominant team this year. I think any team can beat any other team at any time. The team that avoids mistakes and costly turnovers typically wins. The Packers couldn't do that yesterday, and they ended up getting curbstomped. How they respond now is the important thing.
  10. Hader ($32 Million) and Arcia ($6 million) to the Phillies for Alec Bohm ($38 million). Done. The Phillies certainly have a need for a elite reliver and are in "win now" mode. However, depsite what some website says, Orlando Arcia has negative trade value. First, there is a significant chance the Brewers simply non-tender him. Second more probably true than not, many players with similar skill sets will also be non-tendered which makes Arcia worthless to acquire in a trade. Just saying, if we are going to use this completely arbitrary trade value site to build a trade package, then this makes sense. I haven't been a fan of the trade value site since last year, when they went in and retroactively cut Luis Urias's value in half right after he was traded to the Brewers in order to make the trade appear more even. I'm sorry, but when you move the goalposts retroactively, your site is a dumpster fire in my book.
  11. Yesterday's game was certainly cringeworthy, but I'm willing to give them a mulligan. They came out flat, and even while building a 10-0 lead early, they looked out of sorts. Rodgers played like crap. I mean, has he ever had a pick-6, and nearly another in the same game? If it turns into a trend, I'll be concerned. But let's see how they respond next week. They weren't ever going to go 16-0.
  12. Trust me, as a Packer fan with a lot of Minnesota friends, I love that the Vikings are terrible. Maybe I bought into their hype for the team a little too hard. They have some terrific skill position talent. But Zimmer has always been terrible. He's just a jerk, and a bad coach to boot. The Falcons are a tough team to get a read on. Really solid offensive firepower on paper with Jones, Ridley and Gage at WR, Hurst at TE and Gurley in the backfield. Matt Ryan has always been a solid QB, but appears to be in decline.
  13. IMO, it's just presumptuous to think this away. I don't expect Green Bay to go 16-0, and the two teams don't play each other. Home Field throughout is not guaranteed, and given the expanded playoff field, also carries with it the lone first round bye. I do think this is a very good Packers team, especially since Rodgers has the pinpoint accuracy back on his deep throws, and the offense has enough wrinkles to it to put pressure on the linebackers and safeties, even when the top WRs have been hurt. I'm more worried about beating Tom Brady after the bye than anything else. That and the Packers haven't exactly been taking out top teams. Three of their wins are against a combined 2-12. 5-14 overall. They have been pummeling most of them though which is a good sign. Tampa will be a decent test. The Saints were a great win. The Vikings and the Falcons were widely considered playoff contenders coming into the season, and both have a lot of talent. You couldn't have foresaw both teams being train wrecks due to, largely, inept coaching.
  14. I picked up Herbert in a couple leagues I have Josh Allen in last week, with the thought that I could plug him in if the Bills game against the Titans was postponed. I kinda wish I had just gone with Herbert now, as he had a very nice game against the Saints. That said, Herbert is still a rookie QB, so the ceiling and floor are going to be pretty extreme. Brady is certainly not the Brady of a decade ago, but with his weapons in Evans and Godwin getting healthy, he should give you consistency. So I guess it's a matter of if you want sure points, or want to live dangerously.
  15. I don't know if we'll see the Texans make any deals with their front office and coaching staff in flux.
  16. Hader ($32 Million) and Arcia ($6 million) to the Phillies for Alec Bohm ($38 million). Done.
  17. I'd sit JuJu. I concur ... although I think there's a good chance the people who are chasing points with Claypool are going to be soundly disappointed.
  18. Typically when teams overpay for an aging vet, it is someone who is very popular across the whole league who they can market in an effort to put butts in seats and sell merchandise. Braun, given his baggage, isn't going to do that. I get the feeling he knows that, too. That's why I think that likely his two realistic options are to play for the Brewers at a substantially reduced salary, or retire.
  19. It was not. This morning he replied again attacking me and I think he's just going to continue to believe it is true. He's likely upset that you so easily fact-checked something he found to be true. He's looking for validation and others to agree with him, and you putting the satire proof in your reply makes that tougher. Social media hasn't created more dumb people. It just gives those dumb people who already exist a larger platform.
  20. Other than Kenny Clark, who has become an all-pro interior lineman, what other interior d-linemen has this organization used first round draft capital on in the past decade? Datone Jones was drafted as a 3-4 DE, before they figured out that he just didn't have the size to play there and take the physical pounding, which necessitated his weight loss and a move to OLB. They weren't first rounders, but Montravious Adams (3rd), Khyri Thornton (3rd), Jerel Worthy (2nd), Mike Daniels (4th) and Mike Neal (2nd) were also relatively high picks. Of course, Raji was the #9 overall selection, but that is going back 12 seasons now.
  21. My theory is that the northern half of the state is much less populated, meaning that maintaining social distance is part of everyday life. Testing capability and the ease of getting a test is also much less up here compared to the southern portion of the state. I think the northern part of the state has a large population of people who, if they are feeling sick or exhibiting symptoms, simply stay home, rather than go to get tested. I know many people who believe they have already had it, but refused to get a test to confirm it for a multitude of reasons, most of them political at their base.
  22. Or it becomes habit to throw on a mask for the four minutes you're inside a Kwik Trip. Last week I went into auto zone to get a wiper blade. This dude came in behind me and immediately just starts this "I NEED A HEADLIGHT THAT MATCHES MINE AND I WON'T LEAVE UNTIL I KNOW IT MATCHES!" routine. He literally started screaming once he had a foot in the door. In part of his rant he went off about how he couldn't even hear the cashier through the mask. That guy is never going to wear a mask. Most people aren't that bold, but in my neck of the woods the masks are all but done. You have to wear them at school, and I wear one anywhere I go out in public, but I am about 25% of people here. There are pockets like that all over the country. It's just never going to go over with a whole bunch of people. It's not the sort of thing that can be effective with 60% compliance. There are so many people in my area who are not just apathetic, but are convinced the mask causes CO2 poisoning, is a ploy to advance facial recognition software, etc. Once those seeds are planted they don't go away. There's a word for that ... freedumb.
  23. I think it's going to be two years with Love ... betting we see him in 2022. Ride Rodgers for two more years, and deal him when he hopefully is still playing at a high level and has value and marketability.
  24. They are in the midst of a rebuild, and Parker is 27.
  25. What's the answer, though? Is it in the job description of the guy making $10/hr running the register at Kwik Trip to get in confrontations with the selfish jerks looking for a fight? Non-compliance will be high as long as law enforcement continues to ignore enforcement of the mandate.
