  1. Seems like every season there are a few of those types. Complain when the going's tough ... nonexistent when it's going well. I do understand the complaints this year, because it's been a frustrating team to watch. The repetitiveness gets old, though.
  2. Scored 9 a couple nights ago on one of the best teams in baseball. Where were you?
  3. What will we be if we win? We would be nothing, because all you'd hear is radio silence.
  4. Alec Bohm would look terrific in Brewers colors
  5. No, it's not. Typical upstanding humans don't use that type of language ... especially not casually in a conversation.
  6. The Twins have a great lineup. They are dangerous against any pitcher. Good to see Woody wiggle off the hook after getting slapped around a bit in this same exact spot his last couple outings, though.
  7. You know ... I kinda like Eric Sogard, Brock Holt and Jedd Gyorko. I just wish that only one of them was on this team. In a utility infielder role. Having all 3 is simply redundant.
  8. Yeah the freakin Royals hit this guy around pretty good...twice. I mean, the guy has 40 wins the last 3 years. He's a good pitcher. Never know when guys like him are gonna find it in a weird season like this. Unfortunately it looks like he's found it against the Brewers.
  9. Jose Berrios is a good pitcher. He's isn't THIS good, though.
  10. I'm through episode 7 of Season 2. Really well done show. I was looking for something comic book-y to pass the time until Season 2 of The Boys hits in a couple weeks, and Umbrella Academy has filled that roll nicely for me. Definitely darker than your typical comic book fare, but also really intriguing character development and narrative twists.
  11. Relief pitching is already volatile, and throwing a TJ surgery on top is rough. I love Knebel and hope he can make it back to being his old self. It seems like a lot of hard-throwing relievers are not fully recovered and back to their old selves until their 2nd season back, so I'm going to hold out hope for 2021 with Knebel.
  12. Yeah ... there's no way he's going to be allowed to announce another game. It's not even a matter of him making a mistake caught on a hot mike. The way he said what he said made it sound like that type of language is a regular part of his lexicon. He's done.
  13. Something tells me we might have something in Rasmussen. Not just the heat, but all his pitches had late movement. Nothing straight, including the slider lined to right for a single. Ray Black throws fast, but everything is straight as an arrow. Not so with Rasmussen. Heck of a ML debut!
  14. Wow, Drew Rasmussen has some nasty stuff! It's fun having home-grown arms. Finally!
  15. Should we really be surprised. Besides Yelich and Hiura we don't have much and with them both struggling we are a bad offense. Remember that we were basically an average offense with Yelich playing like and MVP and Moustakas and Grandal in the lineup. I feel like I've read this same exact thought every day for the last two weeks. Are you going to come back and give a little credit where it's due tonight? Offense is looking good, and the "bum" they signed in Anderson is shutting down a very good lineup.
  16. Yes, but for all the reasons you list, you draft one now so he contributes next year or the year after at least (how long will Adam's stay elite?). Plus with the depth of the class, it seemed like a match made in heaven as good talent would drop down the draft board lower than usual. That's the thing, though. The national pundits saw a lot of depth at the WR position, but we really have no clue how the Packers themselves ranked those guys. It is entirely possible that they didn't see the depth at WR that guys like Todd McShay saw.
  17. Also took J'Mon Moore in the 4th round that draft. Oof....that's true. I tried to forget about him. I didn't like him at all. And they did try to sign Allen Robinson. Every one of those receivers fit the tall, muscular, wide-wingspan narrative except Sanders. While J'Mon isn't as tall as MVS and St. Brown, he's still well put-together at 6'3", 200 lbs. Devin Funchess is the prototype for the sort of receiver the Packers like, so it was no surprise when they grabbed him this offseason. They just signed Malik Turner and claimed Travis Fulgham, who are both 6'2" and over 200 lbs. There were rumors that the Packers were interested in Robbie Anderson, but who knows how true that really was? Anderson would fit that smaller, fast WR mold. The Packers did sign Reggie Begelton out of the CFL this offseason, and he's only 6'0" and 200 lbs, which is on the small side for what they typically go after. It will be interesting to see if he gets a fair shake.
  18. I like Sullivan too, but the only way he's playing King's spot is if King is injured. King was very good last year.
  19. Since when is getting squeezed for a walk in a tie game an automatic death sentence? I get the pessimism tonight, but sheesh. Edit: Um ... ha! Neener neener neener
  20. The only reason the Blue Jays gave up on a 6'8" lefty with dominant-type stuff, allowing the Brewers to get him for nothing, was that he has had difficulty throwing strikes throughout his career. Yeah, he's likey very nervous, but control issues aren't really surprising.
