  1. Just saw someone call Jimmy Graham a very expensive Richard Rodgers. Yep.
  2. Why are all these pass routes so slow to develop?
  3. Arguably offensive pass interference on Golladay. King couldn't have had better coverage on that play.
  4. Wow ... get Tramon or someone else back there to return punts. Shepard can go hang out on the practice squad.
  5. If anything it shouldn’t even be a flag. Yeah, on second thought, looking at the replay, Walker was going for the ball, which he has every right to do. Allison's head impeded his progress.
  6. Wow, that was a vicious hit. No call for that sort of crap.
  7. Considering they are running four overmatched UDFA WRs out there right now, I'm not so sure signing Cobb to an inexpensive deal would have been such a bad thing.
  8. I have high hopes for MVS, but he isn't ready to be a featured receiver yet. They could really use a guy like ... well ... Randall Cobb right now.
  9. Much more solid in the second quarter after that train wreck of a first quarter.
  10. MVS is bouncing up and down on the sideline. Looks like he want's back in.
  11. If MVS is out for any extended period of time, I would expect that they will be on the lookout for a receiver. Man, if Antonio Brown wasn't a crazy head case, he would look absolutely perfect in this offense.
  12. Maybe someday this team will draft a player that is, I don't know, actually good at kick and punt returns.
  13. ZaDarius Smith is just relentless as a pass rusher. Having that energy in the pass rush is pretty terrific.
  14. Will Redmond needs to not be on the field. He is bad.
  15. Yep, exactly. The Brewers hold all the leverage if the Dodgers are truly interested in Hader. They by all means don't need to deal him. In fact, it can be argued that the Brewers trading Hader for Lux would significantly hinder the Brewers' chance to compete for a title in 2020. As the Dodgers have proven, quality relief help is very difficult to find. And Hader is about as high of quality as you are going to get. If the Dodgers don't want to meet the high asking price, they can pound sand and continue to trot off-day starters out there to get beat at the end of games.
  16. If all it took was money, then the Cubs, Red Sox, Giants and Angels would have made the playoffs this last season. Yes, it is easier with money but money didn't make all those other teams pass on Lux did it? I'd like to point out that I don't even like the Dodgers as a team but I can appreciate their organization. Yes ... like I said, it is impressive that they haven't royally messed it up like so many other large market teams have.
  17. There are other smart teams as well. I would be thrilled if we had the success the Dodgers have had recently. They are also incredibly setup for years as well. They have no doubt developed a lot of good players. But having the financial resources available to resign a lot of those players, and go out and buy pretty much whatever else they want, gives them a very legitimate competitive advantage. I'm sorry, but it's tough for me to be too awfully impressed by a team playing in an enormous market, with an enormous payroll, and a ton of money to throw at player development. The impressive part is that they haven't royally messed it up like so many other large market teams have.
  18. People keep talking about how smart the Dodgers are as an organization, yet they have exactly 0 championships to show for that intellect. A great farm system, stacked lineup and great rotation will only get you so far, apparently. That bullpen has been a pretty glaring need for awhile, but despite all the money and resources at their disposal, they have done an underwhelming job of addressing it. I expect the Dodgers to go on the hunt to remake that bullpen this offseason ... and it wouldn't surprise me in the least if Hader is a target. Not only would acquiring him strengthen their pen immensely, it would theoretically weaken a rival's. I personally would love to see what a personnel guy like Stearns could do with that type of payroll and overall resources.
  19. LOL ... you picked the Packers to beat the Bears and Broncos, and otherwise picked them to lose. I am starting to think that perhaps you are underestimating this team. I personally don't think the Lions are very good. If the Packers don't lay en egg, this should be a win. I hope I’m underestimating them. I like what I see, but am proceeding with caution. I thought last week was a good win, but then the winless Jets beat the Cowboys too. Bad teams beat good teams pretty much every week in the NFL. And the Jets, with Darnold at the helm, aren't bad.

  21. Desmond might be a useful player as a platoon 1B with Thames. He can also fill in at CF and probably the corner OF as well. I don't think he can play SS anymore, though.
  22. Fair enough. Obviously the valuations don't take leverage into account, though. I'd argue that the Brewers would hold a large portion of the leverage in this particular situation. Its because of that that I don't think the Brewers would even consider dealing Hader unless they feel bowled over by an offer. I don't know if Lux by himself would do that. Of course, we have no idea how much value the Brewers place on Lux either.
  23. The Brewers aren't idiots, and they would bake the same injury risk into their offer. Plus, I don't think the Brewers would be the ones going to the Dodgers. The Dodgers would be the pursuers here, so the Brewers would hold that card. The Brewers certainly do not need to trade Hader. Not at all.
  24. I always figured it was safely assumed that WAR is not a very viable stat when comparing a pitcher (especially a reliever) to a position player. You are right, the Dodgers have managed to hang on to pretty much all of their high-end prospects ... but at the same time, they haven't ever really had the need they do now in the pen either. I guess this is just something we'll have to agree to disagree on. I personally think Lux's value is getting to a unicorn level of inflation here ... almost to the point where if he were to become a Brewer, and he didn't immediately bring Hiura's bat along with Gold Glove-level defense to the SS position, people would be disappointed. For me, not every top prospect turns into a star player, while Hader is a star already. It's as simple as that. I totally get the other side of the argument. I just think this is a case of prospect envy where we prop up the opposing team's property, while perhaps discounting ours. The Brewers are taking on more risk in a deal like this.
  25. Top prospects are traded for veterans every year. I realize that Lux has a lot of value, but Hader more than likely has more value than any reliever in the majors. I'm sorry, but saying I'm just not going to believe that Lux, an unproven prospect, has significantly more value than Hader, a known high end All Star commodity.
