  1. Not a great position to be in, but it's the 3rd inning, and the last thing I'm going to do is write this team off. Especially this season.
  2. The Hammer! Top-notch pull!
  3. For #31, we go with Mr 3TO himself, Russell Branyan. While entertaining at times, I'm pleased that the Brewers have changed up their offensive philosophy. And for #30, this seems appropriate.
  4. I'll allow him to come back as Murph's bench coach next year after Rickie gets a managing job.
  5. I've been a Big Smooth fan since his stint with the Brewers. He was crazy good in 2019. I do not like that he has somehow magically found that effectiveness again.
  6. There are a lot of fans who rightfully feel betrayed by Counsell's decision to leave the Brewers and go to the Cubs. His history makes stomaching that even tougher. The ribbing he takes from Brewer fans is more than fair and warranted.
  7. Will be nice to see Collins back. And appears that Patrick is getting the spot start in game #2 today. Hoping he can give the team 5 solid innings.
  8. Once had some big hopes tied to this fireballer ...
  9. gotta love the double-whammy days! First, for #34, we have very short-time Brewer and long-time Hollywood producer Mark Ciardi And for #33, my namesake, and a player given the affectionate nickname "The True Creature" by the great Pete Rose.
  10. #35 is reserved for Narcisco Elvira. The ultimate flash in the pan, despite his standing as a Top 50 MlB prospect, Elvira only pitched 5 innings in his MLB career, all in 1990 as a 22 year old Milwaukee Brewer. He pitched professionally for 22 years, bouncing between the Mexican League, Japan and Korea. Elvira's fame in Mexico made him a target for gangs. He survived a kidnapping in 2015 where he was held for ransom for 23 days. He was ultimately shot and killed (along with his 20-year-old son) in 2020 in what was likely a gang-related incident.
  11. It appears that the low mark is a prediction of 78 wins by @True Blue Brew Crew. Need only three more wins to surpass that! ;) I'm actually pretty impressed with the overall optimism in that thread. I think we've gotten to the point where most expect that, even in a "down" year, this team will remain competitive. And let me tell you, after living through those teams of the 90s and 00s, that is one heck of a good feeling.
  12. With 76 wins, I was wondering if the team has already surpassed any totals from the preseason prediction thread, but I can't seem to track that thread down. At this point, with 42 to go, they'd need to go 24-18 to win 100, which seems quite possible at this point, if not probable
  13. #36 can be no one other than The Mechanic:
  14. This is definitely not the offense of yore, which on the regular would put up a crooked number in one inning, then hope to hang on.
  15. That seems a little dramatic. He looked good in his first outing a few days ago, and was pretty lights out for the Diamondbacks. Are you really going to judge a reliever on one rough outing?
  16. Now I get to use my Eric Plunk pic! And one Ruben Quevedo (RIP)
