  1. Who do you start vs. lefties then? Rowdy is a terrible matchup vs. them. Brosseau is hurt.
  2. Hill is 6'3" and 250 lbs. He's very much a drop-back, throw-from-the-pocket QB. Burkett is undersized at 6'0" about about 200 lbs. He's the athlete.
  3. Yeah, there is that. Counsell = round hole, Hiura = square peg
  4. He's had 3 hits in his last 15 ABs coming into last night with 6 Ks. Guessing that's more the reason.
  5. I'd be shocked if Leavitt is left off the final roster. He is a veteran and has a reputation as a high-end special teamer. Plus he's been a Bisaccia guy the last 4 years.
  6. Given that Mitch Keller throws with his right hand, I would deduce that Hiura will be in tonight's starting lineup.
  7. I apologize to everyone who may feel that I'm being judgy. I have to be better. This was a weird move from the start, no doubt. The chances of it working out were slim, but it certainly wasn't impossible. And if they felt that Peters was "just a guy", the risk wasn't huge. But it always reeked of "making a move simply to make a move".
  8. IMO, Counsell would pretty much have to turn into Ken Macha for the Brewers to consider making a change. And even then, it would probably take 2-3 seasons of mediocre or below results to do it. I'm as disappointed as anyone by Counsell's perceived degradation into a "cookie-cutter" type manager, but I'm starting to wonder if some of these boring type moves are more predicated by a lack of raw material on the MLB roster than Counsell losing his creativity.
  9. I have absolutely no problem with criticism or venting if there is logic put behind it. It's the whining simply for the sake of whining that has raised the toxicity level substantially. Stating an opinion is not "trying to control the narrative". Those who are ultra critical of this team and its front office sure do seem to have a really thin skin when questioned on it. It's a message board ... there are going to be disagreements. And that's fine. Everyone is frustrated with this team right now. If you aren't, you haven't been watching.
  10. Well, when many of those posts questioning the move are followed immediately by ideas like "he's got one foot out the door", what the heck else are you supposed to believe? This place has gotten extremely toxic lately.
  11. This roster has too many guys who can't hit lefties. It's one of the most annoying aspects of this team. There aren't really any good options to start at 2B against lefties right now with Brosseau on the IL.
  12. LOL ... Hiura continues to inexplicably be atrocious against lefty pitching. Multiple posters have complained for weeks every time he's batted against a lefty pitcher, saying that Counsell is inept. Now Counsell is finally playing the numbers and sitting Hiura against a lefty, and your whining about it. That tracks actually.
  13. Welp, win some, lose some I suppose.
  14. As far as pure athleticism and 5-tool potential goes, Mitchell is probably the best of the four OF prospects. Very similar body type to Christian Yelich. Hasn't hit for a ton of power yet, but he has a swing that should translate to 20+ HR power. Being a Type 1 diabetic myself, I have been following Mitchell's career closely. This is really cool.
  15. Nope. Players are added to the playoff roster off the IL throughout the playoffs pretty regularly.
  16. Because he's been on the IL since he was acquired.
  17. He's already on the roster.
  18. He's a guy that many Brewer fans have kind of loved to hate his whole career. But the guy just keeps going, putting in yeoman work every season. He's a pretty typical reliever, which means that he's going to have highs and lows.
  19. He's put enough good tape together that I doubt he makes it to the practice squad.
  20. I think you are underappreciating how good Lowry was last year. He's very much in that "Solid starting NFL DL" tier, not the "we can replace him with one of these UDFA DT" tier.
  21. It actually seems like lately they've employed way too many dumpster fire AAAA middle relievers.
  22. Was it even high risk? Peters may turn into something, but chances are he flames out before making any kind of MLB impact. The Rosenthal acquisition was basically like buying a $2 scratch-off at the local 7-11.
  23. No offense, but these articles end up looking redundant when there are separate topics that also cover these moves. The articles aren't adding anything extra.

  25. It's a good thing, then, that the Brewers would likely never trade him to a team who is basing his value off of this year's stat line. He probably isn't ultimately the guy who put up .285/.366/.525 in 2021 either, but I would imagine any team looking to deal for him sees him as something in between those two lines, and as a 27--year-old SS who also provides good defense and energy to a lineup, that has a lot of value.
