  1. Give it a rest on the Pina love. He had a decent game, but he is still very replaceable.
  2. Why in the world would you think this? No GM operates this way.
  3. Wow, Freddy was jacked on that last one to Manny. 95 MPH. Don't think I've seen anything that fast from him this season.
  4. Maybe he could use it, but on a playoff-contending team looking for consistent starting pitching, that can be tough. Yeah it won’t be a rest of the season thing anyways (innings limit) but they are 5-3 in his games he has started and could possibly be 6-3(He is 4-2) if they can hold onto this one. It’s not like he’s costing them games in the standings. The growth that is probably happening for him right now, pitching in a pennant race, working through jams and rough patches... I’m glad they’re letting him do it. Yeah, you're right, and it could be worse. He isn't getting shelled. He is typically giving up few runs, but just not getting deep into games. Showing electric stuff, but the efficiency just hasn't been there. Just like the majority of young pitchers.
  5. Peralta is a 22-year-old kid with command issues. You're telling me he wouldn't benefit from some more time in AAA? Seems pretty cut and dry to me. He could use exactly what he’s getting right now. It’ll pay dividends for him. These guys have to go through this stuff sometimes. Patience is the key. Maybe he could use it, but on a playoff-contending team looking for consistent starting pitching, that can be tough.

  7. Peralta just isn't ready yet. Just has trouble hitting his spots. If he figures that out, we could have something.
  8. Are we even one of them? Doesn’t feel like there is room for him. I’ll just take Villar back to fill in for Shaw. Ill take Dozier over one of Saladino, Perez, and Villar. He would be great insurance to have should the "3B Is the New 2B" situation not work out. I imagine someone will give up something pretty good for him, though.
  9. Are we even one of them? Doesn’t feel like there is room for him. I’ll just take Villar back to fill in for Shaw. I was just speaking in general. I think the Moose trade dried up any chance of Dozier being a Brewer. Not real sure where Dozier still fits, though. Cleveland maybe if they throw Kipnis in the OF?
  10. The prospective Brian Dozier spots are drying up quickly.
  11. Yeah, I fear it's going to be a long day of hitting "refresh" tomorrow.
  12. Sure, Woodruff is crap, but the Cubs are going to be able to put a package together for him?
  13. Woodruff , Ray, lottery ticket. But to be honest that may be too much as this year he has not been good. He definitely has a hot streak in him at some point though. The Nats would hang up the phone immediately after you said Woodruff..they'd be insulted. Yeah, because guys who are in their mid 20s and throw upper 90s gas are insulting. Come on! Also, GMs don't "hang up on" other GMs. That is just a tired, worn out idea.
  14. Woodruff , Ray, lottery ticket. But to be honest that may be too much as this year he has not been good. He definitely has a hot streak in him at some point though. Wow ... adding Harper in RF on an everyday basis would be a pipe dream. He also has several hundred million reasons to get hot as we get into August. We can't trade the Machado special for him (Ortiz and Phillips), but I'd think about Ortiz and Ray. That would be a huge package for a rental, though.
  15. Or be the next Peralta...Wily Peralta. An actual shiver just ran down my spine.
  16. I don't think anyone wants to trade him for sake of trading him, but if he was the guy leading a package for realmuto or degrom...you'd be insane not to listen. Everyone except Mike Trout is available for the right price. Exactly! I like Freddy, and I don't want him traded. I personally just don't think that he has the upside that others here seemingly do. If he pitches well tonight, his value may not get much higher. Sometimes it's ok to see the forest through the trees.
  17. I can't help but keep thinking that this might be Peralta's final appearance in a Brewer uniform. I mean, of the young studs, I think he's the most likely to go in a blockbuster tomorrow. But what a career it's been!
  18. Most Valuable Pina? Yeah, I suppose that's true. Of course, Manny's wife might be able to hit.
  19. Ugh one run. Moose is going to help, but having a black hole at catcher sucks.
  20. Station to station baseball. Am I watching the same team? These are the Brewers, right?
  21. I'd be all over Sonny Gray for a lottery ticket or two. Or expand it to Gray and a prospect or someone like Austin Romine for Santana. With Gary Sanchez back on the DL, why would the Yankees trade their starting catcher for Domingo Santana??? Sanchez has a groin strain, and will likely be back next week. I was just looking for a match, and Romine is a solid backup catcher that could be more. Kyle Higashioka would be a nice pickup if they are intent on hanging on to Romine.

  23. Still with Archer? I feel like people on this board put him in the same group as the Scherzer's, DeGrom's, or Sale's of the league. You really want to give up multiple top 10 prospects for a declining 30 year old pitcher? DeGrom or Syndegaard? Sure...but please no Archer. I've never seen a player on a different team that causes so much divisiveness among the posters here. Is Archer an ace pitcher? That's debatable, but on this team in 2018, he almost certainly would be.
