  1. They are VERY different pitchers. Hader has a lot more deception in his delivery, while Woodruff is straight upper 90s power with a full starter's arsenal of pitches mixed in. Woodruff doesn't profile as a reliever. Not sure I see the comparison.
  2. This smells like smoke and mirrors to me ... I mean, I HOPE, it’s only smoke and mirrors! I want an impact bat !! Yeah, I kind of smell smoke as well. Woodruff as part of the package for Realmuto wouldn't bother me at all. I get a sense of some fatigue regarding Woodruff as a prospect on this board, but I would think he still has very high value as a young power pitcher.
  3. McCalvy asked, and Searns said it was planned to manage Woodruff's innings. I can't imagine Woodruff is on much of an innings limit, though.
  4. Nottingham didn't play yesterday. I wonder if he, too, was on a plane bound for Milwaukee? Nottingham and Burnes up would be exciting. Bam! I like every one of these moves. Kind of a bummer Pina is hurt, though, considering he's been hitting better of late, and his defense is always rock solid. Excited to see what Nottingham can do in an extended audition, though. Could make Kratz expendable once Pina is back. Also excited to see another power arm in the pen in Burnes. Get Houser back up soon, and Albers back off the DL, and I REALLY like the look of this pen.
  5. Nottingham didn't play yesterday. I wonder if he, too, was on a plane bound for Milwaukee? Nottingham and Burnes up would be exciting.
  6. And apparently Hader and Jeffress are locked in the dungeon unless we have a lead.
  7. Well, might as well let Zags get battered and deep fried now. Save the rest of the pen.
  8. That's been a Counsell go-to this year as well. Maybe the decision was already made, and Counsell didn't want Stearns to look foolish by DFAing a guy who just pitched a great inning?
  9. Gah! What's the point of having great relievers if you don't use them? Two days in a row of questionable bullpen usage. No way should Zagurski have come out for this inning. None.
  10. Counsell knows he has Hader and Jeffress at his disposal, right? The Zaggin' Wagon doesn't need innings. Edit: Kinda thinking "Polish Sausage" would be a solid Zag nickname too.
  11. Wow ... getting nailed by a comebacker ends his day. Tough break for Sanchez, but good for the Brewers.
  12. Doing it with great command. A lot of movement, and I think he's hit every corner today. Taking advantage of a line-up full of impatient hitters.
  13. He was just fine today. I'm a Woodruff fan too, and would love to see him up as a regular member of the rotation. I'm sure there is a reason why they went with Wilkerson instead of Woodruff, though. Matchups perhaps? In any case, Wilkerson did exactly what he was supposed to today. Not his fault the bats have taken the day off.
  14. And he pitches a great clean inning with a couple Ks. Because of course he does LOL.
  15. Scratched prior to the game with "right side tightness". They should just call nagging soft tissue injuries Brauns at this point.
  16. I'm all for aggressiveness, but an opposing pitcher with 69 pitches through 6 innings is a joke. If you can't get good swings, you gotta be patient.
  17. It's been discussed here before, but that HoChunk ad is the worst. What era is that couple even supposed to be from? I can't figure it out. The mid-50's to early 70's. Every single year in between. I have to say that is one nice thing about watching the Brewers on FS1 today. Different ads than the 4 that Fox Sports Wisconsin constantly cycles through.
  18. Wilkerson is doing exactly what was expected of him - keep the team in the game. Bats gotta wake up.
  19. It's an obvious Brewer need, the Marlins are in a rebuild, and the two teams have already gotten together on a big deal this year. I imagine there will be other suitors for Realmuto if the Marlins shop him, though. But a deal would make good sense for both clubs. Which means it probably won't happen LOL.
  20. Making that determination off of one relief outing this year, are ya? Wilkerson looked good in his MLB time last year, so it surely wasn't that. Not real sure where that feeling is coming from, other than that he is older than most AAA pitchers.
  21. Just keeping the seat warm for Realmuto. Cost is going to be high, but it makes a lot of sense.
  22. Pretty even deal. Selling low on Santana, but who knows if he's ever going to right himself? Sucks giving up Erceg, as the system doesn't have many good 3B prospects. I'd consider Santana and Derby expendable given the depth at those spots.
  23. While the implodization of this board would be worth buying a ticket for if that happened, there is no way they are trading him for a reliever, even one as good as Hand. Injury Messiah is going to be here a while. (Sorry, while Hiura's bat is great, I just don't trust him to stay healthy. Too many red flags in his early career have me worried) If Hiura goes, it's going to be for a controllable starting arm, or possibly a solid, controllable bat at a position of need like Realmuto.
