This creates a positive domino effect, effectively pushing Ashby and Hall (when healthy) to the pen, and guys like Misiorowski and Henderson to the AAA rotation to get more seasoning. It also potentially pushes Yoho to the Nashville pen, at least for the beginning of the season. You have to like the pitching depth this team is looking at, including all the young, talented arms in AAA.

Quintana for basically the same $$$ that Collin Rea would have made this year. That is certainly not terrible.

You have to go back a few years (ok more than a few), but Dunn compares pretty favorably Casey McGehee, who managed to put up some solid seasons at the hot corner for the Brewers after his unheralded acquisition. Dunn obviously bats lefty and is a substantially better athlete than McGehee. Going back further, Dunn gives me some Tyler Houston vibes. Houston was a bright spot for some bad teams in the early 2000s -

Every single one of these articles states that Miz came up as a starter, was switched to a relief role late last year to prepare for a possible call-up (which ultimately didn't happen), and that he is now once again being looked at as a starter. To answer your question, a sure-fire starting prospect is going to have more trade value. But I would personally hope that the Brewers move Miz to the pen before trading him to a team that views him as a starting prospect, because he has truly dominant stuff.

So let me get this straight. You are tired of reading articles that claim that just because Miz was the 1st pitcher yesterday, it means that he's being groomed as a starter. But then acknowledge that he is, in fact, a starter. Makes sense!

He throws triple digits, is 22 years old, and has been dominant as a minor leaguer. He has years (yes, YEARS) before that happens. He's also a top 100 prospect. Every single team in the majors would absolutely love to have an arm like his in their system. I imagine he's one of the first names that comes up in any high-end trade talks involving the Brewers.

That article interviews him saying that HE wants to start. He's a high pick that is only 22 years old and is on the cusp of the majors. The Brewers have absolutely no reason not to see what he can do as a starter.

There are articles claiming that? I don't think his role has been determined yet. I imagine they will exhaust every avenue to make him a starter before moving forward with him as a reliever. Value-wise that makes the most sense.

McMahon is a mediocre 30-year-old 3B with a large contract playing for a team that isn't going anywhere. Those types typically don't demand a big return. My guess is the Brewers could get him by flipping the Rockies a couple of lotto ticket-types if they agreed to take on the majority of McMahon's contract. They will need to give up more if they expect the Rockies to eat a chunk.

Only player I can remember who rocked the full arm sleeve/cut off sleeve combo is Domingo. He showed so much promise early on, but once opposing teams figured him out, he just couldn't adjust. -

I can tell you right now that this board would very quickly grow weary of DeJong's huge K% and inability to get on base. Yes, he hits dingers at a pretty solid rate, especially for a middle infielder. But I think it is pretty obvious at this point that the design of this roster is keyed not only on run prevention defensively, but also on speed and getting on base, two aspects of DeJong's game that are pretty non-existent at this point in his career.

You of all people should know that when you put contrarian-type overtly negative opinions out there, then get defensive and accusatory (along with playing the victim card) when called on them, it isn't going to go over well with the majority of posters,

I think I likely speak for most everyone here when I say I'm getting a tad sick of this holier than thou victim card schtick you keep pulling out. You throw negative take after negative take out there, or just keep on banging the same negative take drum, and you get offended when called on it. When you go to a site named "BrewerFanatic" and continuously rip on the team, you need to expect there is going to be pushback. And when you push back on that, it's going to come back at you even harder, especially when you don't bring really any specific ideas to the table on how you would accomplish what you'd like to see done. Instead you tend to try to tear down anyone who has any shred of optimism toward this team. I am not telling you how to fan. That's certainly not my place. And as I've pointed out, I totally understand the frustration with what the team has done this offseason. But beating on the same idea in thread after thread is getting old.
