  1. So the Bucks could win 60 games for four years, miss the Finals four times, and he'll remain the coach? Find that very hard to believe. The ownership of this team is not supermaxing Giannis and paying Middleton darn near it to lose conference finals. Different sports, but look at counsel. Zero trips to the WS. Worse record last year than the year prior. Has a top 2 player in his sport. Yet the team signed him to an extension. Winning 3/4 of your games is incredibly hard and rare. I’m sure the owners are upset about all the extra money coming in due to winning consistently.
  2. Have any financials come out on this?
  3. Woodruff: Opponents in 2019 produced a barrel -- a batted ball with optimal exit velocity and launch angle -- in just 2.6% of their plate appearances, lowest among regular starters. He definitely has the stuff. Burnes does too. But to homers point, would they even be allowed to throw that many innings?
  4. He gets a $1M signing bonus and salaries of $900,000 in 2020 and $1.5M in 2021. I would guess he would get much more than that via arbitration next year. Risk and reward on both sides. Good deal. Slingin Stearns at it again!
  5. When do they usually announce this? 24 hours after?
  6. “First medical update of Spring Training: Luis Urías' cast was removed Friday. His timetable is tight, but he said, "I want to be ready for Opening Day." Per Adam McCalvy Good news here!
  7. Braves always have highly praised pitching prospects. Few ever do anything positive in the pros.
  8. 100% they will be a contender for the division. Whole NL will be tough. They need to get to trade deadline within striking distance like they have the last 3 years. Get there and anything can happen. As evident from taking over the cubs the last two weeks of 2018. And 2019 roaring back after Yelich injury. Paper teams never win games. I like this team MUCH better than the last two years.
  9. $15 million and $27 million is a big difference. I think more teams would be in on it and can get a larger return. Plus the brewers wouldn’t “need” to trade him for financial reasons. Thus think the return would be greater. But agree on your point of a year out. Enjoy the next two years.
  10. There's no reason for him to. Why would he limit himself to one team, when 20+ could be bidding in 9 months? More likely 5 or less teams will be bidding for him. Many will want him, few will fork out $350+ mil for any player. I’m addition, many high payroll teams don’t exactly have super flexible contracts.
  11. Wow! Rich get richer! Sounds like some serious cash coming along with Betts.
  12. Involvement of third team also possible in #RedSox-#Dodgers blockbuster, source tells The Athletic. Again: Betts and Price would go to Dodgers, Alex Verdugo and others to Boston. Per Rosenthal
  13. https://m.facebook.com/watch/?v=451560872035960&_rdr Probably could’ve stopped the run game a bit better vs the niners
  14. TheAthletic is saying the Red Sox and Dodgers have talked about Betts/Price going to LA. That’d be pretty gross to see.
  15. Sounds like it’s actually 1 year with club option.
  16. Very nice, under the radar signing! Have the brewers been the most active in free agency? Seems like we have signed a ton of players compared to most.
  17. Chicago Cubs third baseman Kris Bryant has lost his grievance against the team seeking an extra year of service. I wonder if this increases his chances of being traded?
  18. García put up a very similar stat line to Castellanos in 2019. Played a few less games so some numbers are lower. But for the lower price point and better defense I think the Crew did well.
  19. Anyone know where to get discounted tickets to games? Looking to maybe go tomorrow night but prices seem a bit steep. May also just be I haven’t gone to a game in awhile and that’s the going rate.
  20. Club option for 2021. A Stearns favorite.
  21. I’ll take a full year of Hiura over a full year of moose/Shaw. But I see your point.
  22. 100% agree on your take here. Only way I see it changing is if Arcia would be in a trade. But otherwise it seems pretty well set.
  23. Huge LHP vs RHP splits! Could be the option vs lefties
  24. I'm not in favor of trading Hader...at all...unless it's for a MASSIVE MASSIVE haul. That's why I say, I don't think another big move is coming. They could make another big move, if all they wanted to do is spend some money, without trading a single thing. No offense whatsoever but to me Narvaez isn't a big move. It was a good move for sure, but not big. Big to me would be acquiring a middle of the order bat. Like a Donaldson or a Castellanos. Neither of those things appear like they are going to happen. That's why I say I don't think anything big is coming yet. "Big" is out there right now and they don't seem inclined to go that direction. This is an interesting take. Castellanos had a 2.7 war and will command $15+ million at a position easier to find good offensive production. Narvaez had 2.1 war at a position not full of talented offensive members for less than $3 mil this year. Yes, different positions. Yes, war isn’t everything. But to say Narvaez isn’t close to as “big” of a move as castenllos would be a bit off in my opinion. Castellanos gets the name recognition due to being on the cubs, but no one was calling for him prior. Personally hope we never touch Castellanos. I think Narvaez could make a big jump and out produce him for a fraction of the price. Big for me would be getting a Matt Chapman! That I would get excited about.
  25. Would love McNeil from the Mets!
