  1. I wonder what it would take to get Bumgarner. He does have limited no-trade protections to a handful of clubs, which the Brewers could be on. But he also has a very reasonable $12 million club option for next season.
  2. Sophia is probably the best sideline reporter the Brewers have had imo. The fact that she can translate and ask questions in Spanish is a big help. With that said, who truly cares? Sideline reporting is essentially just filler for dead air.
  3. Seems perfectly reasonable to me. Barnes has options, hasn't been great his last couple outings, and pitched yesterday in a taxing game for the pen. He'll be back in 10 days
  4. Seems to me that they're trying to keep an eye on his innings by mixing in MLB bullpen innings between starts in AAA. I'd bet he's a full-time member of the rotation later in the year (depending on injuries to the other guys/success of Wade Miley or Chacin).
  5. Woodruff sent back down after pitching last night, Brett Phillips recalled from AAA.
  6. Just posting this here because of the talk of Braun/Yelich winning that game. This swing was oh so sweet but the camera work is A+.
  7. Hader is a "2 pitch pitcher" because he doesn't need to use a 3rd pitch out of the pen throwing 2-3 innings at most. He's thrown it a few times and it looks serviceable to me when compared to his nasty FB/SL combo. It doesn't have to be great. The only way it's going to develop further is if he's allowed to start.
  8. Agreed. Brewers have a handful of flamethrowers down in AAA/AA ready for MLB bullpen innings at some point this season (we've already seen Williams and Houser), I'd love to see Hader eased into a SP role as the season goes on. Highly unlikely I know, but I'm with you that 5 innings of Hader starting is probably better than ~5 innings from Suter/Guerra/Woodruff/Miley + Hader out of the pen. Giving your offense the chance to jump in front by putting up zeroes in the first 5 innings is so huge and something the Brewers have been struggling mightily with.
  9. One thing is for sure, Mark A doesn't care what teams' fans are in the stadium because he's getting filthy rich off of these Cubs' series. $35 for SRO today and $55(!) for Terrace Reserved. Too bad we couldn't afford a quality starting pitcher
  10. 1. Lorenzo Cain ® CF 2. Eric Thames (L) 1B 3. Ryan Braun ® LF 4. Travis Shaw (L) 3B 5. Domingo Santana ® RF 6. Manny Pina ® C 7. Jonathan Villar (S) 2B 8. Orlando Arcia ® SS 9. Brandon Woodruff (L) P I like Thames in the 2-spot, although I wouldn't have minded Aguilar getting another start with how well he's been hitting in limited appearances.
  11. Knebel to the 10-day DL with a strained hamstring (severity unknown) - Adrian Houser called up.
  12. Tonight's game @ Beloit has been postponed due to cold weather.
  13. There will always be lots of Cubs fans at Miller Park (as long as they're a good team). There's no getting around that. It would be nice if the Brewers could string together a bunch of wins against them at home so their fans would pipe down a bit at least. Get 3 beers in any of these North Burbs fans and they're ready to berate your grandmother for wearing Brewers blue and tell you how superior their city is while threatening to fight you if you ignore them and try to focus on the game.
  14. Perez is pretty worthless taking up a roster spot if he can't even play solid defense. His bat has always been an acceptable liability because he could cover so many positions, but this is ugly. Designate him before Aguilar is even considered.
  15. Win-Loss Record: 84-78 Playoffs: No Highest Playoff Level Achieved: N/A All Star Game Representative(s): Yelich Offensive Player of the Year: Yelich Pitcher of the Year: Hader Most Surprising Player: Arcia Most Disappointing Player: Santana

  17. Suter starting vs. Cubs tomorrow, Wilkerson @ Giants Yelich will play vs. Cubs, unsure if Cain will play yet - from McCalvy’s twitter
  18. So... this Jake Arrieta fella, sure would be nice if he was pitching for the Brewers...
  19. 3 team trade between NYY-TB-AZ sending Brandon Drury to New York and Steven Souza to AZ. Dbacks likely out on Santana now.
