  1. TLB, I thought it was going to be more of a fabric type material that was covering the roof... edit: the Rays site says it is going to be a "weatherproof fabric" and Wikipedia calls it a "fabric covering"
  2. gypcasino, this post is for you... I'm not completely drunk but I do have a very good buzz going and I'm going to make sure that I take the time to actually go back and spell and type things correctly (even if it takes me longer to post)... Anyways, the Brewerfan.net Echo Taps went out after winning our 7th game of the year against zero defeats and a few of us stuck around and put down quite a few pitchers of beer (and then I came home and decided to have a few more)... The main point of my post tonight however is Derek Jeter and I hate Derek Jeter... I think he is one of the most over-rated players (he isn't even the best SS on his team) however, his play against the A's where he cut-off the throw from right and flipped it to the catcher is one of the most amazing plays I've ever seen... I can't even understand how he decided he needed to cut off that throw to get the runner amazing... a much better play than the stupid "I'll dive into the stand even though I have 3 or 4 steps before I get to the railing" catch... man I hate Derek Jeter! Baseball-reference.com = Awesome! End of drunk post with zero typing (although I could still make grammatical errors) errors. edit: Sat around for a minute or five and then remembered something else... was anybody else watching the Braves vs. Angels game and listening to Joe Morgan ramble on and on about how surprised he was that Terry Pendleton (I even checked b-r.com to make sure I spelled it correctly) said it would be harder for a switch-hitter to hit .400 than a speedy lefty? He must have brought it up like 4 times in the next inning and a half... I know that fjm.com has a field day with this guy all the time but his (lack of) knowledge is astounding... I was flabbergasted! (I'll be honest I'm just trying to go above and beyond right now... these posts are taking me so long!)
  3. I'm pretty sure BF.net had news of the Carlos Lee trade before it was elsewhere as well. I'll admit I come here first for info on anything Brewers related... This site is probably the best (and worst, only cuz I'm practically addicted to it) site on the internet for me... I love it!
  4. A.) I can't spell when I'm sober. B.) Started drinking at 2:45p for that post... so I'd guess it is 12 hours of drinking that causes that type of post http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/tongue.gif
  5. ok... now this in't good.. ihad made awhole post based on what was going ontonight and enven mentioned samwise, 1e corbeau, tlb and the res of the echotap boys all in one post and then i tried to add crazyk's post to mine to point ourt that i generallty ask whyt tis bpage is buried on some randome page and in the processs es manageed to delet the wohle thing. it suckedn andthereris noway mydrukc asscan remmemeber excadclrlt what i wass tryping.. anyways.... that sucks... madison softball is better than milwaukee even if i'm toooo drunkt oo type clrearly... go brewers!!! cubs suck!!! anywyass. i'be ben drinkin since i got off wort at 245 in the afternnnin and now itsbed time... it was a good nitgh snf by the way as a fan site we need to drink more visably online because bieing as we're from wisconsin we really shoucld be gettin drunk enough to post on here more than aevery couple days... what heapened to getin smashed all the time BF.net? and i shoud prolly akesd myslef the same question
  6. The thing about this all is that it isn't just on FSN. When the game was on Fox this weekend there were problems from them as well. I remember specifically when they were interviewing the BoSox pitching coach, an interview that they did during the commercial break so they could have just gone to audio, and they missed an entire AB (I believe it was Rickie).
  7. I had some audio problems as well... There was just crowd noise coming out of my left speaker and crowd plus Bill and Brian coming out of my right speaker. All I needed to do was change the balance from in the middle to just the right and it sounded normal. Simple solution on my end but why FSN can't fix it on their end is beyond me.
  8. I hate Tony Gywnn Jr.!! Not as a player... not as a person... not as a reserve outfielder... hell I'm not against his current role as a Brewer (I just don't think he'll ever be more than a 4th outfielder)... but when my friends get all excited about him it's what I say... sort of how I say I hate Brady Poppinga... and then they seem to go out of their way to do something really good... maybe I should say it more often?
  9. Would it be asking to much to provide a link?link There ya go... it is the 6th story down (Fort Myers newspaper: Don't go nuts to keep Red Sox) Here is what it says about the Brewers: However, another team besides the Baltimore Orioles has been identified making the rounds of Florida cities: as we reported earlier, the Milwaukee Brewers are indeed looking at a spring shift to Florida and met with officials in several communities (including Vero Beach and Lee County communities) to get the lay of the land.
  10. Don't you think it is possible that there is more to it? If these cities in Florida are trying to reel in the big fish (BoSox) do they really want a lot of attention that they are having the Brewers tour their facilities? Maybe the Brewers have absolutely no problem if the information gets out but the places they visited asked them to be quiet. I understand being skeptical but just because springtrainingonline.com doesn't have the info doesn't mean it isn't real. The fact that more than one poster with sources inside the government (Senate and Parks Department) have passed along information makes it a lot easier for me to believe.
  11. Anybody who is racing online have you been having a problem where you finish in a different place than where you are suppose to? Twice I've finished in first only to go to the score screen and be in a different place (2nd and 5th)... the first time I thought I must have just got passed at the end but from 1st to 5th and there was nobody near me... Just seeing if I'm crazy or others are having the problem as well.
  12. Are you sure its not because you are awesome? Although I do have to agree with ya that the competitions isn't too stiff as I've been winning or finishing in the top 3 in 90% of the online races I've been in and I'm usually good but not great at video games. Some point in time we should get a tournament or just some races going on over the Nintendo WFC.
  13. Well, with the addition of the bikes you can now do a wheelie that gives you a short little boost so that is sorta similar and by design. It compensates by only allowing the bike to have one stage of power slide where as the cars have two. So people could still do that and have a greater advantage but from what I've played it wouldn't be beneficial to try and do that in the Wii version as the power slides take longer to boost up (at least in my racing experience). I've just been playing online and I haven't noticed anybody do it yet, but I've only raced like 5 races... It's freaking sweet though
  14. So they are power sliding the entire time? Thats how I felt and this one is pretty damn close already and I've only had it for 3 days...
  15. I'd recommend the game to anybody... It is quickly becoming my favorite Mario Kart (which is saying something because the N64 version is awesome). It's a lot of fun and the Wii Wheel is pretty sweet (I haven't tried it the other way yet, but a buddy of mine tried it w/ the nunchuk and used it for about half a race and went back to the wheel)... in fact I'm gonna go play some more right now. My roommate, who admitted he isn't a fan of Mario Kart (the older games) can barely put the thing down. gypcasino - I've never really played any game online, let alone a Mario Kart, but how are they cheating? Do they have patches and such and therefore able to do things you can't or what?
  16. You mean like the 5 starts he's got all season? He has started twice each at SS and 3B and 1 time at 2B giving the players he backs up days off. Now I may not always agree with it the day of, but if Ned is giving his starters sporadic days off to keep them fresh for the entire season I really don't have a problem with it. To me it is a logical idea to keep our starters fresh for the marathon that is a baseball season... I mean, not everybody is Cal Ripken Jr.
  17. I think it really has more to do with the fact that another thread that wasn't about Weeks (it is discussing Rich Hill being skipped by the Cubs) has turned into the exact same argument that lead to the first thread being locked. Nothing against you or the fact that somebody else got the last word. edit: Back to the topic at hand... Seeing that it was more of a keep Zambrano and others on their regular schedule than it was avoiding starting a lefty against the Crew (even though I know that played a role) makes it, at least in my opinion, less of a stellar managerial move and more of a typical approach to a 5th starter in April.
  18. mmmmmm... Waffle House.... that is all
  19. I've got to think that Prince having Boras as his agent would have something to do with how he handled the situation but I really don't know.
  20. I'm pretty sure that guy was the sideline reporter for the Cards. I'm in SW Illinois for the week and have been able to watch the games down here and they were interviewing Gross after the game.
  21. And we were able to take 2 out of 3 against them on the road and beat the odds-on favorite to win the NL Cy Young. I understand the excitement of Cubs fans... but when you look at who we're missing, who we've played and where the games have been played (12 road games for the Crew, 6 for the Cubs) I've gotta say that I like our chances.
  22. How about saying nothing?!?! It works, and it doesn't backfire. Ned just likes to talk, so then we end up with his worst case scenario, which is borderline useless. You really think that Ned could get away with saying nothing about his injured ace pitcher? And on top of that... what does it matter if it backfires and what exactly happens if/when it does backfire? Are people going to change their mind about the injury-proneness of Sheets or their feelings of Ned as a manager if he gets this right or wrong?
  23. Go back and look at post #112 and you can see what he brings to the team... and what Gywnn doesn't.
