  1. This is the first thing I noticed hopping on the site this morning. Somebody's trolling. April fools day I guess. But seriously, this one is not funny
  2. If it's legal I have zero issue with it. Fair game for everyone. As with everything the league will adjust.
  3. Yeah partial weeks at the beginning (or end) of the year and before & after the all star break typically get tacked on during the fantasy schedule. The roster lock thing beginning on Monday feels like a rule specific to your league. My league allows waiver adds at any time but we only get 5 roster moves per week. EDIT: Rereading this I would assume this past Monday is also counting as a locked roster date. Again, feels like a league specific thing. Maybe the system is counting Monday the 31st as the transaction day so you wouldn't have access until the next day?
  4. I think it closed when we traded Jrue instead of Khris.
  5. ADP is a good blueprint but it's totally fair to pick guys "earlier" if you like them. The trick is to try to hold off as long as you dare so that you aren't taking them too early lol.
  6. Ortiz officially named the starting SS. Largely due to Turang experiencing shoulder soreness in what is felt to be an adjustment to longer throws playing SS (which was reported by Curt Hogg in the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel). https://www.espn.com/mlb/story/_/id/44305221/brewers-settle-ss-situation-moving-joey-ortiz-3b.
  7. If it's your first time there's going to be a learning curve, your main goal should be to have fun and learn what works in your league so that you can have a better year two. Even once your draft is over there will be many impact players that emerge on the waiver wire/free agent pool throughout the season. Just being diligent and keeping an eye on up and coming players will serve you well. Watch for hot streaks and pounce on them if you have expendable players on your roster. Some leagues do have transaction limits but if you're in one that doesn't always look to see if you can improve through waivers. Make use of your IR spots. If you don't have any players currently injured see if there are some free agents with longer term IR stints that you can stash for later. If you end up getting a player injured for a shorter term and need an IR spot it doesn't hurt to drop those stash type guys and maybe pick them back up later.
  8. I'm part of a group of friends that plays D&D 5e once per week on Roll20. We do voice chat using Discord. Being able to play D&D without the need to physically get together (we're located in different cities) and in the comfort of your own home definitely makes it easier to keep schedules. Even then it's not rare for someone to miss a week here and there.
  9. He literally just cited the stats for the very best pass rushers in NFL history at age 31 and beyond. Don't know what else to tell you. "no player has averaged 15 sacks over the two seasons they turned 31 and 32" So yeah, that's a zero, nada, zip. Is there a chance he keeps a pace like the 7 exceptions he listed that kept an average as high as 13 sacks? Sure. But that's 7 guys out of every single player ever. Seems like long odds. Also, you realize it's Brian Gutekunst you're talking about facing a decision to trade a 2nd round pick? More long odds.
  10. Pete Dougherty had an article yesterday about Hendrickson and the statistics for pass rushers over the age of 30. Here's a snippet: He goes on to say he believes a 2nd round pick would be too much to give up given all of the information above and having to pay big bucks for a contract extension. I think Cincy had originally been asking for a 1st rounder, someone probably will pay the 2nd round pick and I doubt it's going to be Green Bay.
  11. The problem I have with even mentioning Bo Melton or Malik Heath is that they had all of 8 and 10 receptions respectively last season. That's with the injuries to Doubs and Watson and basically current WR room. If those guys were going to make an impact it would have happened already. Josh Jacobs and Tucker Kraft made those guys irrelevant. And Luke Musgrave might emerge this season as even more competition. Not to mention a hopefully healthy MarShawn Lloyd.
  12. I get it. But with Watson out I think there's room for a reliable vet. I'm not overly concerned with the guys on the depth chart "getting snaps" beyond Doubs, Reed and Wicks. I think that leaves room for a vet. Cause I sure hope nobody is arguing in favor of reserving snaps for the likes of Bo Melton or Malik Heath. If Gute is going to target a #1 type guy in the draft in lieu of signing a vet then he better get the guy in round 1 or 2. If they fail to do that then they missed out on a needle mover for 2025 anyway. Sign the vet, add stability. Allen or Kupp are likely going to miss a handful of games anyway just because that's who they are so there will be opportunities for younger guys. Again, this is assuming a reasonable short term contract. Something similar to the deal Aaron Jones signed this offseason. Hard pass if it gets into significant money and years.
  13. I'm sure this would be very unpopular but I wouldn't hate signing Keenan Allen. His yardage wasn't impressive but Williams had to be some factor in that. DJ Moore also saw a similar dip in yards from prior year and I don't think anyone is down on him. Allen will be 33 and has issues staying healthy so I know he's far from ideal but maybe his contract would be on the lower side. I'd be ok with Kupp also but not for big money. He's not worth Adams money that's for sure. Neither of these guys would be #1 WRs but that's just not available in FA.
  14. Scuttlebutt was that Pittsburgh was also strongly considering Darnold but after trading for and signing Metcalf it makes me wonder if Seattle has more spending power than Pittsburgh. So Seattle could land Darnold, leaving Rodgers for Pittsburgh. It's an interesting situation for sure.
  15. I've been having issues just being able to load twitter today, apparently it's been an issue this morning.
  16. Jaire still a Packer, for now.
  17. Chris Godwin re-signs with the Bucs for 3 years, 2 of which are fully guaranteed.
  18. Not sure if I'm the only one experiencing it but today I'm noticing slow page load times. I'm on desktop using Chrome browser. Yesterday things were fine, today it's been slow. When I visit other websites I'm not getting the same issue.
  19. The Herschel Walker trade comes to mind. The Saints trade for the 5th overall pick to draft Ricky Williams. Still not sure those quite fit the Luka situation. NFL and NBA are a little apples and oranges since a superstar on an NBA team can be argued to be much more valuable (1 of 5 starters having more impact than 1 of 11 or 22) but those weren't great moves for the receiving teams that are still referenced today. A little closer to home the Ray Allen trade certainly wasn't great for Milwaukee.
  20. Justifies was probably a poor word choice on my part but if they didn't like their long term outlook with Luka, which how could anyone read it otherwise, this shouldn't change their in house opinion because of it. Their choice of what they did while executing the trade and receiving in return is worthy of scrutiny. I think they really valued no media leaks about trade discussions and if they had truly shopped him around leaks would have been inevitable. Asking one team to remain silent has a better success factor. In hindsight though they probably shouldn't have worried as much about media leaks because the fallout would have likely been the same as what they're getting now. Maybe a little worse but it's still a huge thing to where I don't think they should have worried as much about it.
  21. As far as Adams "wanting" to come back I don't think there would be any barriers to it other than normal player acquisition ones like fit, contract, etc. I don't feel any bridges were burned when Adams got traded, by all accounts the Packers accommodated Davante's preferred destination and tried to do the best they could for him. That's respect given and I think he knows that and appreciates it. I too might prefer to look elsewhere though. If he comes back that's fine but the contract will be large and he's aging. I do also think he could help. So whatever happens, happens I guess but if they don't bring him back it's not going to bother me.
  22. I don't know, to me if Kyrie was going to be injured anyway is Dallas even that big of a playoff threat even with Luka? To me it kind of justifies moving him in a weird way especially if they were wary of committing to him long term. Headlines are trashing them over it but injuries aren't predictable and Luka has dealt with his own over the years as well. He's a great player and in his prime, the risk was going to be huge regardless if all this was going to happen or not. They chose their path and I don't think I'd look back only because of the injuries to AD and Kyrie. It's much more long term than that.
  23. The last 3 or 4 episodes of the season really start paying off the groundwork of the first half of the season. But as with any show there will never be 100% popularity, everyone has different tastes.
  24. Severance is one of the few shows since Game of Thrones that has me counting down the days until the next episode releases. Is it Thursday yet?
  25. That Corbin guy should stick to baseball.
