  1. I like to call that "Bend and eventually break defense."
  2. My take on the individual blueprint posts is it's something I'd typically be annoyed by but I'm not really noticing a bunch of other topics being posted or commented on so nothing is really that hard to find or follow. So I'm not sure it is actually necessary to segregate the blueprint posts. Since it's the off-season I don't think there's enough other activity that's getting "lost". But I can't speak to whether or not all those blueprint posts could possibly be discouraging other posting in that forum.
  3. His FT and 3PT shooting is all mental, he has the mechanics. His mid range twos aren't that much shorter than the 3 pt line but for some reason it's a whole different world if he backs up a step or two.
  4. Personally I think it's Detroit and then everybody else. Maybe the Eagles are also a problem but after that I'm not really that scared of anyone else in the playoffs on the NFC side of things. Of course the Packers could lose to anybody which should go without saying as well. I think the Packers can hang with Detroit but it would take a really well executed game plan by the Packers and perhaps a bit of an off day for the Lions. I'm really trying to come to terms with the reality that the Lions are big Super Bowl favorites. Such a strange feeling. They're ridiculously good. I'm not sure I can even say I "hate" them (though I really do because I don't like any of our division rivals). I definitely don't like their coach but if I'm being honest I'd probably love the guy if he was the Packers coach. I do think the guy is a little too in love with himself and his trick plays for my taste. One thing that won't make me hate my life if I witness a Lions SB championship, it will be hilarious to point fingers at the Vikings franchise and tell them the Lions got a SB win before they did.
  5. Being concerned about the 49ers feels odd when the Detroit Lions exist.
  6. The whole point of a free play is making that throw, you force it in if you have to. Nobody was open.
  7. Bears comeback to tie and force OT is insane.
  8. Yes they did. I'll never turn down eeking out a win after the Fail Mary and the Jerry Rice fumble. Plus the defense made a play, they blocked it fair and square.
  9. I didn't say I expected it.
  10. The only way going for it and not converting gets salvaged is by forcing a 3 and out right here with the Bears backed up against their own goal line and getting the ball back in great field position.
  11. Mmm it's so fun watching the 3rd worst offense in the NFL march down the field against this Packers team.
  12. Packers making the Bears offense look competent is so on brand. Add another dumb Love interception in the red zone and it's a classic Packers crap fest.
  13. If Jacksonville had anything approaching competence running their offense they could win this game but the Vikings are probably going to safely win as long as they can stop turning the ball over.
  14. I've been in a 12 team dynasty league since 2012. In the 13 years our league has been active we still have 11 of the 12 original members. The guy that isn't in it anymore was kicked out for too many shenanigans/shady trade tendencies over the years until he royally pissed off our commissioner (who is usually a pretty mild mannered guy) and was booted. There's no league as good as a dynasty league, all the guys in ours love it. Super active with trades. I still don't mind redraft leagues but they aren't quite as fun usually, depends on the group that are members of the league, ultimately that's what makes a fun league regardless of format.
  15. Yeah, I pretty much got there on my own halfway through writing that reply. I would think insurance companies would be more than happy to collect a premium payment on that wager and only have to sweat out a 3 week waiting period for a player that is expected to decline the QO.
  16. Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reporting the dead cap hit next season will be $5M. "His pro-rated base salary of $3.2 million along with the remaining two years of his deal will now belong to the Steelers. The Packers will gain around $2 million in cap money this year, but Smith will count $5 million in dead money to the Packers’ 2025 cap next year."
  17. But I don't think you can take out insurance on a player that isn't currently on your team. He is technically a free agent, isn't he? Maybe they can since there's a binding offer out there. I don't think insurance providers would say no honestly. They have to weather less than 20 days of a person's clean health.
  18. Admittedly I don't know about any finer nuances of the QO rules (I did a brief review on MLB's website) but if a player that has a QO on the table were to get injured in a car accident to the point he felt that would affect his market he could end up accepting the offer. Can't rule out "life" happening during the time between the offer being made and the last date for the player to decline, which I believe is around Nov 19th. As far as I'm aware the team can't rescind the QO once it's been offered. I could be wrong. But yes, for all intents and purposes Adames is going to decline the offer.
  19. The arbitration process isn't perfect but the players voted to keep it in the last CBA. I think ultimately they do see a benefit there and favored it over the alternative choice offered by the owners. It's not ideal but it does work and is pretty close to fair for most players. The owners are pretty much on record saying they don't love arbitration either. I think both sides are going to continue exploring ways to improve or come up with something better, naturally it comes down to finding common ground in negotiations. It's not going to happen but I'm fairly confident that if the Brewers made an offer to Corbin Burnes in free agency this offseason and it was the best offer for the most years and money, an offer that met his expectations and more, he wouldn't hesitate to accept it. All the bad feelings go away once a guy cashes in big in free agency.
  20. Yeah when I said I thought Willis should be playing it's due to the weather, Love's injury and the way the game is going. I think the Packers can compete with the Lions but today felt like an uphill battle even before things started going bad. I don't think putting Willis in makes a comeback any less likely, his running ability is a different dimension. Nice drive going here though.
  21. After the TD I took a bathroom break, came back and they were punting. Awesome.
  22. Gotta bring out Malik Willis in the 2nd half. No brainer.
  23. LOL just when you think you've seen as much stupid as possible. Love has got to fix this dumb garbage he's doing with the ball and learn to take a sack. On the plus side I just won the halftime score pool at work. Not the TD I was hoping for.
