  1. Rodgers doesn’t like playing the in the preseason. Rodgers got what he wanted, good and hard.
  2. 1) Stokes replaces King with the ones. Enough is enough. 2) Find a street FA that can clog a running lane. Someone. Anyone. We are grossly undersized and thin in the D-line rotation and that is Gutey’s biggest missing hole on this roster. 3) Give the offense Vince’s “Gentlemen, this is a football” speech at practice this week. However embarrassed they are about this is not nearly embarrassed enough.
  3. You’re right, but I’m so sick of Rodgers’ crap. I can put up with a lot if you at least do your job. But if you’re not even going to perform after all the garbage? What are we even doing?
  4. Now cue the postgame press conference where Rodgers takes little responsibility for the offensive performance today, and takes a few subtle shots at the game plan and preparation of the rest of the offense. It’s one game, there was no game speed preparation in the preseason, and so on. That all makes sense. But after the offseason we were all subjected to, I have to think about how every professional relationship will erode if given enough time. It would be nice to paper over it all to make one more magical run, but this isn’t a fairy tale. We’re another game or two of this away from major alarm bells. Heck, if you’re Gutey, and you think there’s any mid season interest in dealing for him, you have to at least consider it if this doesn’t look better post haste. The sooner we know what we have in Love, the better.
  5. I know you’re being sarcastic, but that thought did cross my mind. Yeah, I’ve often wished we had a “half-blue” option for comments that are in the area of 80 percent sarcasm, 20 percent honest to goodness sincerity. That’s where I’m at with Rodgers right now.
  6. 12 looks like doodoo. He’s bleeding trade value by the throw. [sarcasm]It’s probably all part of his spiteful plan to get back at the front office.[/sarcasm]
  7. We can’t hold up vs. three right now. The offensive line is a problem.
  8. Effective blitz on second down, and nice tackle/pass breakup by rookie Stokes. Doesn’t take much to qualify for the highlight reel in this one, but those will qualify.
  9. Don’t think this one is happening today, boys.
  10. Not sure two wideouts ending up in the exact same spot is how you draw it up.
  11. Man, Deguara has just been snakebit in his career so far.
  12. [sarcasm]Wait a minute, you’re allowed to do that when a team is in your territory with only seconds left in the half? I thought you could only go cover 1 in that scenario? Someone get the rules committee on this, stat.[/sarcasm]
  13. As the replay showed, clearly jumping around the field trying to call a timeout. Ask and ye shall receive.
  14. I am *really* glad I don’t watch ESPN anymore. I even took it off my tv package just to avoid the temptation. The coverage is going to be insufferable all year.
  15. Instead of listing a barrage of washed up players we’ve let go, Rodgers could have won himself quite a bit of goodwill by pinning his angst on just two names: Mike Pettine and Joe Barry.
  16. I don’t want to make this conclusion yet, but there isn’t any contravening evidence available. Not a good situation.
  17. As long as 12 is suiting up, why wouldn’t opposing teams just keep running until we stop it? Unless I can just abuse the heck out of King every time, I wouldn’t want any part of the rest of our secondary. And if I’ve got Kamara? Forget it, I’m running.
  18. Same as last year. I’m guessing the reshuffled offensive line is a bigger factor here. I expect that to gel with time. However, I’m more concerned with the defense. If we’re going to have run-stopping problems, we’re going to struggle.
  19. Saints defense, still good. Packers defense…not.
  20. So, I’m not looking forward to all the mobile QBs we’ve got on the docket later in the year, if even Jamies Winston can do this to us…
  21. I hope this is the biggest thing we all have to fight about for the rest of the year. That would be a pretty good sign.
  22. Again, he is setting a career high for innings every time he takes the mound. This team has bigger aspirations than no-hitting a subpar Cleveland team. I want a title.
  23. As things stand, the biggest obstacle to 100 is likely going to be all the games we have against STL and LA; not that we can’t beat them, but that they are likely to have far more to play for than we will by the end. The Cards are trying to claw into the wild card, and LA will want to lock down the #1 seed, whereas we’ll have the #2 wrapped up relatively early.
  24. Next up on Most Extreme Elimination Challenge, NL Central Edition, the Chicago Cubs! Tune in tomorrow as they desperately try to NOT GET ELIMINATED!
