  1. Imagine being a franchise with designs on competing this year and a fair amount of resources and deciding Kolten Wong just isn’t in your plans. That has to suck. You love to see it.
  2. [sarcasm]We should lock up this Yelich guy to a long-term extension before his price gets really out of control[/sarcasm]
  3. Uncharacteristically lazy play by the outfield there. Have to expect better out of those two.
  4. Yeah, my only point was, the logic behind pursuing Scherzer despite having three pitchers who are arguably having superior seasons is because you might be worried they can’t sustain this level of success into uncharted territory as far as innings pitched in a season.
  5. Yep. This exactly. We may end up needing a lot of runs come playoff time. Or just down the stretch even. But the Brewers have done all they can to give themselves a shot. I firmly believe they pursed Scherzer because he could provide insurance in case of injury or tiring by one or more of our studs.
  6. Burnes: 125 so far (145 in 2017, minors) Woody: 145 so far (158 in 2016, minors + majors) Peralta: 121 so far (new career high)
  7. Bears mentioning that all three aces have reached or are imminently approaching their career highs for innings pitched. I worry about this fact more than anything else about our title pursuit. Not that the Brewers really could do anything more than what they already have about it, but it could be a factor nonetheless.
  8. Good grief. Guess the only one with any hope of some hardware at the end of this season is going to be Corbin. No pressure.
  9. That was a VERY aggressive send. I thought Sedar was back for a second there.
  10. Wong has been such a huge addition this year. He’s the straw that stirs the drink.
  11. He’ll always have his NLCS bomb off Kershaw. That was a good time.
  12. Woody is going to get “outduelled” by Lester. Even after last night’s heroic larceny, this result will still make me mad.
  13. Mature decision to come out. Good call on Peralta’s part. Rest him up now and get him right for the postseason. Glad I was apparently very wrong about my assumption.
  14. Also says he can make his next start, though he probably will (and should) not. Good grief, no. Get Ashby on a plane if he isn’t already. Live today, fight tomorrow, Freddy.
  15. Ten up in the loss column for the division, and in the process: overcoming the Cardinal ace, horrific umpiring, and Yadier Molina late-inning voodoo hitting. I’m so fired up for this team.
  16. Rock: “Cardinals showing a lot of respect for Jace Peterson here.” That’s the charitable explanation. Thanks for the gift, Molina.
