  1. As long as Thames doesn't dislodge the 2018 MVP candidate they have playing 1B right now. While unfortunate, Thames' injury might've been the best thing to happen to this team, since it has certainly solidified Aguilar's roster spot, and probably his starting spot. I mean, talk about a guy taking full advantage of an opportunity. Shuddering to think that Jesus may have been on the DFA/trade block the first few weeks. Saladino also making the most of things!
  2. Hey, Kratz batted 1.000 for the Yanks last season and slugged 1.500 - what's not to like?
  3. Well these next 3 years are going to feel like forever, that's for sure. I hope so. He’s gonna lead us to at least two World Series wins in those three years. If the Brewers win even one Series in the next three years, I daresay it will be the bullpen and about 6 or 7 other guys that will 'lead' the way before Braun does, assuming he isn't hurt come the postseason.
  4. If Sogard is that good, then Stearns should have no problem trading him and his current .631 OPS at Colorado Springs for, well, anything.
  5. Yeah, that Hader guy isn't any good - those last 6 Twins' hitters just LET him strike them out - how nice of them!
  6. NO WAY do I want Hader starting. He is SO much more valuable and deadly in relief. I mean, he is putting up stats that no one has ever seen the likes of before.
  7. I had also forgotten that the Lind trade was David Stearns' first-ever Brewers trade. Peralta's one start so far doesn't mean much, but this trade could wind up being a steal in the long run - and we still have Herrera in A ball, and haven't even seen Missaki yet.
  8. A lot of people absolutely hated that trade I certainly remember these reactions when the trade was announced --- viewtopic.php?f=63&t=33547&start=40&p=966788&view=show#p966788
  9. I'd rather have Hader pitching and being dominant in the role he is right now. He may very well be a great starter, but if he'd been starting yesterday, what good would that have done when the offense doesn't score any runs? THAT would be a waste.
  10. Speaking of older - 'The Shield' is my all-time favorite show - tremendous cast, especially Michael Chiklis and Walton Goggins. Another one I've dusted off as of late - Babylon 5. It was very low-budget, a lot of the acting was over-the-top, and the CGI effects, while groundbreaking at the time, are extremely dated now. Despite all of that, the story arc that builds up through the first couple seasons and finally starts culminating around the end of season 2, still makes it a good watch overall.
  11. I enjoyed the first seasons of both Ozark and Taboo
  12. Means absolutely nothing. I always remember that the 1984 Tigers finished with the 4th worst spring training record in all of MLB. They then started the season 35-5, were in first place every single day throughout the year, and of course won the whole thing.
  13. Thanks for the info Maas. I know some people at the time of the Lind trade thought Missaki might have the best potential of the three pitchers acquired, which would really be something considering the emergence of both Freddy Peralta and Carlos Herrera from that same trade. Would be great if Daniel at least got a chance to show off what he's got.
  14. Daniel Missaki was one of the three pitchers acquired in the Adam Lind trade back in December, 2015, but I've not heard a peep about him since he was acquired. Now I know Missaki had Tommy John surgery in May 2015, and he certainly hasn't pitched since then. Does anyone know what is up with him? Is he even still with the organization?
