I like this as a buy low move if McCullers can stay healthy he can help this team. Since they’re also getting Colton Gordon maybe the Brewers are taking on all of McCullers remaining contract $ still waiting to see what Brewers gave up. Wouldn’t shock me if it was like Brock Wilken or something -

I’m a prospect hoarder but I don’t think Payne and especially not Adamczewski are worth swapping for any of these guys who barely move the needle. Jett to me is much more redundant and tradable and should be the guy they try to make the centerpiece of any big trade they make -

Gimme Encarnacion over Fenelon personally but yeah they are slowly getting stacked with OFers. Jose Anderson was another hyped one, disappointed to this point but has 21 HR and 60 RBI this year while hitting .197 haha

Also curious where MLB pipeline ranks the Brewers draft prospects sometime in the next week or 2, I imagine Trey Ebel will be somewhere borderline top 10 and Strosnider will be somewhere between 15-25 and that’s it for the top 30

Forecast for later in the night cleared up since I last checked. Still looking like scattered rain up til about 8 PM but it’s very scattered and precipitation amounts are low. So might be able to squeeze this game in tonight later. Apparently the players are warming up on the field rn even with the tarp on the infield on so it seems the game hasn’t been cancelled yet

His #s were pretty solid in MKE but terrible with everyone else. If it’s a major league deal I’m curious the corresponding move. Woody to 60 day IL? Maybe they confirmed behind the scenes he needs surgery it’s just not public knowledge yet

Black’s my guy but I fear the only chance he has at staying on the team next year is if Bauers leaves in FA and he fills his 1B LHB platoon spot, and that would probably only be til Fischer or Burke is ready to be called up

There’s a big # of other guys in AAA that were options to fill Hamilton’s 3B/INF spot while he’s out, Jett Williams, Luke Adams, Eddys Leonard, Brock Wilken, Freddy Zamora, Eduardo Garcia, and Ethan Murray. However, these are all right handed batters so I figured they’d replace a LHB with a LHB. Jones also more expendable to quickly boot off the 40 man when needed than any of those guys other than maybe Zamora, Garcia and Murray. Tyler Black was the only other LHB option and he played some 2B with Team Canada this Spring but not really a 3B option. Still personally would’ve rather had him recalled for the week. Not sure if Jones can play 3B but I assume he’s just starting at 2B today to give Turang 1 day off after starting both games yesterday. Probably don’t see him start another game.
