  1. As a Brewer fan, that game was tough to handle. But as a baseball fan? Wow! Neither team's pitching staff cracked. It was one of those games where it was just unfortunate one team had to lose. As a four, actually five, decade fan of the Crew I am hurting as much as anyone. At the same time absolutely jacked to get this game 5 going. It has been thoroughly entertaining and maddening and exhilerating and heartbreaking and heart stopping to watch this series unfold. Can't wait to see this team respond.
  2. I really like our chances for a few reasons. This offense will get some things going and soon - Cain had a tough luck liner, Yelich is getting on base, Braun is fine. If those 3 can work in tandem in an inning or two, then we have some crooked numbers on the board. Our pitching is on such a roll and it will continue. Third, I believe the motivational edge is with Milwaukee now in light of how hungry they are and couple that with the Machado incidents we may have an added dimension of competitive fire(if that is even possible). No doubt in my mind that we come home and take game 6 with Chacin on the hill. That leaves game 5 and game 7 - pick up one of those and we will be hosting WS games next weekend for 3 straight days.
  3. I've always liked that there is an elite MLB hitter who looks like a weird little gnome. Definitely annoying to play against though. He was mildly more rootable when he helped defeat the Cubs last year.
  4. They talk a lot about heartbeat of a pitcher in these spots. I wonder how Freddie’s pulse was there.
  5. A few observations: please forgive me for those who don't like a list. 1. Prince throwing out 1st pitch to Braun and then doing their signature HR forearm bash/boxer punch was really cool. 2. Cain's swag is so big for this team. That robbery of Freese was a major tone setter and boost for Miley. 3. Miley's double with one out in the 3rd and being left stranded by Cain and Yelich was a big missed opportunity. (Cain and Yelich came up empty again in the 9th after Perez walked) 5. Miley had the game of his life and has to be still feeling sick today after watching the final 3 innings unfold. 6. Burnes will be a better pitcher both short and long term for the experience he had in the 7th. He has it. Just a tough outing yesterday against Muncy, Machado and Bellinger. 7. We had some luck go our way with 2 big DP's, one to end the 7th. Both easy bouncers in some highly tense situations with multiple runners on. 8. Obviously the bases loaded walk was a poorly executed pitch against Barnes. He has to trust his fastball there. 9. The home run to Turner was another situation where you have to trust your fastball if you are a big time closer. The blueprint was set on an effective way to get Turner to swing and miss late in game 1. Ride the ladder with high heat. If JJ can't do it, then bring in someone in that spot yesterday who can. 10. We gave up 2 walks and both were huge, game turning walks. We got walked 4 times and each time never threatened. Finally, I was at both games 2 in MP. The crowd was lights out amazing against Colorado - all game. It was a loud confident crowd. Every pitch sequence the crowd was engaged and on top of their game. Yesterday, it was good, but nowhere near last week. There was a sense of anxiety and a little fatigue in the crowd too often. Very surprising! Hopefully they come home to play with a chance to win this thing and the fans bring their A game as well. It does help! A guy like JJ thrives on that positive energy. Last, re-read luke 121 on this board. He gets it.
  6. Tickets are still available for Friday night's game 1 on the brewers.com site. Just out of curiosity I checked and found 2 Terrace Reserve seats and a Field outfield box stand alone ticket. Game 2: I was not able to see any tickets on the site. I purchased 2 tix in Terrace Reserve for Game 2 from stub hub this am for $50 over face value (including the fees) row 12 3rd base side. Thought about waiting until Friday as prices should drop, but those 2 seats were hard to let go. Most Terrace Reserve seats in sets of 2 or more are going for well over 200 including fees currently. And they are in rows 18-20 in many instances. Most of those tix would have to drop by at least $75 to match what I purchased today.
  7. I think you are pretty close. Freddy and Davies threw bullpens yesterday, so that makes me wonder if Davies will be on the roster and be making a start. Not sure who he would be replacing, though. The only answer I can come up with is Woodruff, and that would be surprising and unfortunate, as he's been lights out lately. Could that have been an audition to determine the final spot? See what kinda stuff they each have after an extended time without game speed/condition pitching.
  8. Did our shortstop miss the bus?
  9. I think it would be great if Stearns faced his former team in the World Series. What a story line and what a reunion!
  10. Had tickets, then lost them, then almost got them back. I am out of state so I simulataneously called the ticket office as I was buying from the site. I knew my current address wouldn’t work, so I asked the ticket rep how to purchase these as a “long time former WI resident”. She entered my “old address” into the system; I edited my account and crossed my fingers. As all of that was processing, time ran out. So, no tix yet. Tried until noon on the site, but to no avail. They were good seats Terrace Box row 5 I believe. So I’m kinda bummed.
  11. Call up the ticket office and tell them what you call the device in your middle school's hallway from which you got water when you were thirsty. Depending on your answer, they might consider you a Wisconsin resident. I'll try this along with listing the ingredients of County Stadium's original Secret Stadium sauce.
  12. How many do you need and for what game? Likely 2 for game 2
  13. Thanks gentlemen, I live south of the border in the heart of Cards/Cubs country so will not be able to acquire tix from the Crew website most likely. Stub hub was good to me though last week! I used to be a long time WI resident. Does that count for anything the way tix sales are set up here? Any sliver of hope to catch a couple tickets on the site tomorrow morning?
  14. Thank you. I was thinking that to be the case but considering stubhub has a couple SRO tix currently on the market for those games I thought I would ask. Still is curious that there are some on stubhub for sale.
  15. I haven't noticed many SRO tickets for sale on stub hub (NLCS games 1 and 2) Is there a specific reason for that? Have they been purchased already or do they wait to put those up for sale until a later time?
  16. Roughly 2 short months ago Chase out-dueled Kershaw for a much needed win (considering the pre-ASG slump) just after the ASG break in Miller Park. Amazing how the structure of this pitching staff has evolved since then.
  17. Yes, for the games in AL stadiums. This team is built for that aspect as well. Damn, we good!
  18. I am a fan of Braun and really happy he is getting another shot. You can see how bad he wants to win, he knows this could be his last or best shot. Yes, we all realize how few and far between these opportunities are!
  19. So....put him on the NLCS roster if we get there? Then, just maybe Alex dimROD, will think we have a chance. (Deep dark blue)
  20. As long as it is hit right into the gloves of the good guys. This series has been a thing of beauty as far as executing the game plan against their lineup. Keep it up today, put some early pressure on Marquez and their defense, and bring out the brooms!!
  21. The FTC’s Flame throwing clinchers
  22. Not comparing the two pitchers, but throwback jerseys being worn today remind me of the 1981 ALDS against the Yankees in County Stadium. Mike Caldwell went all 9 against the Bronx Bombers. Times have changed in many ways.
