  1. Tomorrow is the Reds best shot. Sonny Gray has been pretty good.
  2. Picking up a game on the Nats isn't the end of the world.
  3. Solid all around game. Good pitching, defense, and some timely hitting. I can get behind a couple stress free games.
  4. Tatis Jr. killed the Brewers in SD. Catching a break that he's injured this time around. Edit: guess it wasn't as bad as I remembered. He was just ok. Franmil Reyes also not around to torture us.
  5. Looks like it will be a piggyback effort with Gio. That's probably the toughest matchup of the series with Paddack going for SD.
  6. I sure hope so. They're running lots of promos this week for the Padres series. I'm going Saturday and Sunday. Still toying with the idea of making the trip in for either Tues/Wed.
  7. I think we also have to root for the Phillies to stay relevant till next week. They have 5 games left v the Nats, but if the Braves take it to them this week, those games v the Nats next week might not matter much for them.
  8. The more I look at the remaining schedule the more I'm thinking that there will end up being at least 1 game tie breaker game needed. Maybe it's for the WC game or maybe it's for the NLC. Maybe both. Ultimately I think the Nats will do enough to win a WC spot. Easiest way in for the Brewers is for the cards to go 5-2 vs the Cubs.
  9. I think the brewers generally have his rest schedule dialed in. They’re actually really good at adhering to a structured rest for Hader. It’s September and they have ground to make up. They’re pushing it to the limits for sure. I think he probably needs 2 days off right now though.
  10. Kinda feels like the Mets, Phillies, and D-Backs are done.
  11. Rizzos xrays were negative but he’s having more imaging tomorrow. If he’s out the rest of the way it’s a tough blow. They’ve already lost Báez and gone through stretches without Contreras and many key bullpen arms.
  12. I was nervous about the dreaded Grandal cold streaks, but what i realized is his ability to draw walks leaves him with a useful floor. During July and August when his power was basically gone he still put up ~.370 obp.
  13. Kinda feels like a win today goes a long way toward the Brewers playoff hopes. I'm sorta expecting a very early hook on Anderson and a sorta piggyback effort with Suter.
  14. Just go sweep the Cardinals. Put some pressure on them and win the damn division. (Just don't get swept please)
  15. He probably falls into that 2-3 year deal for 6-8 million per year bucket doesn't he? Sample is small, but just look at the stuff. He's definitely worked his way into pitching the very back end of games for this team. You could easily argue he's our 2nd best reliever. I think that's too high. Justin Wilson got 2 years $10mm. I think that's the absolute top end of what Pomeranz would get. I'm thinking he's more likely in the 1 year $4mm range. As another poster mentioned, if a team gives him a chance to start that may sway him.
  16. I'd honestly be shocked if Lyles gets more than like $4mm guaranteed even if he has 4-5 more good starts down the stretch.
  17. Pomeranz with the Brewers (1 start) 2.35 ERA, 3.02 FIP, 42.4 K% in 15.1 IP Pomeranz as a reliever in 2019 1.53 ERA, 1.75 FIP, 46.2 K% in 17.2 IP If he continues to pitch like this down the stretch (and hopefully into the playoffs) it will be interesting to see what his market is like in free agency.
  18. No reason to do anything with Lyles before free agency. Let the season play out first. A month ago we were all certain Anderson would be in the rotation next season and his option was a no brainer. Now after a few blow up starts we are less certain. I don't really see why Lyles would cost much more than he did in 2019 though.
  19. I know Albers let things get a little interesting there, but a really great effort by the bullpen today keeping the Twins scoreless after a short, ineffective outing from Gio. That JJ performance might go unnoticed, but he was good today.
  20. My guess is the OF group is mostly set Braun, Cain, Yelich, Gamel, and Grisham Infield is different. I only see Hiura as a guarantee. At this point I'd probably bring back Thames whether that's through the club option or re-signed at a slightly lower price. Shaw is the toughest decision. If you can bring back Moose I'd non tender or trade Shaw. Personally, I'd non-tender saladino and perez. I'd probably non tender Arcia too unless his Arb salary is around $1mm. I'd attempt to bring in a veteran SS like Iglesias or Galvis (if he his option is declined). Todd Frazier is an interesting complement to the roster as a part time right handed bat at 3rd and first. Catcher could end up being Pina + a young guy as the back up. I'd love to bring Grandal back though. Off the top of my head I don't remember any other notable starting caliber catchers who will be free agents. With 26 roster spots next season it will be interesting to see if the Brewers primarily operate with a 5 man bench.
  21. Martin Perez has been pretty lousy the last two months. ERA over 6 since the end of May. Here's a post on him specifically published yesterday on Fangraphs https://blogs.fangraphs.com/martin-perezs-cutter-is-no-longer-cutting-it/
  22. The Bucks getting 34 National TV games (if you include NBA TV) is incredible.
  23. Bad things: No home game on Memorial day (off day?!?!), Fathers Day, or 4th of July. The home opener being against the Cubs sucks. Good things: Home game on Labor day, Easter and Mothers day. There's a road trip @Cin and @Pitt- those are two parks I haven't been to yet and the only time they played back to back on the same road trip this year I had a different trip planned. So that's probably going on the schedule.
