  1. We CAN sweep the cubs at Wrigley. We have. And we can. Just imagine.... My goodness.
  2. This thread is a spoof/joke in relation to the Wade Miley one. Just a disclaimer. If he pitches like Miley has... I welcome this thread!
  3. And then the way it works in the playoffs is the WC obviously plays each other and automatically plays the 1 seed, also from the central in this case and in the one you mentioned above. Seems to somewhat be a flaw in the system there, maybe tweak it to match up based on records. Say MKE has the 2nd best record after the Cubs and wins the WC game. AZ wins the west with the worst record of the remaining four teams, Cubs should play AZ and MKE plays winner of the East. Yea its like in the NFL with division winners at .500 and seeded a minimum of a 4 seed. Maybe they should re look these playoff formats to actually reward a good record? Just spitballing! Still nice to see the NL Central so strong!
  4. What is most crazy, is that All 3 NL central teams would be leading each division in the NL except the Cards would be out by 1/2 game in the east. This reminds me of a few years back with the Cubs Cards Pirates all being amazing and everyone else not even close in the NL
  5. Shaw: that’s why you take a strike because the cubs feel the heat of being squeezed.... smh
  6. I’m glad I’m not the only one who thought you don’t swing til you see a strike Those are the little things that championship caliber teams need to do...
  7. I honestly thought Davies was toast for the year. Probably much like the Rangers (and many of us) thought Hamels was toast this year. I thought either he was hiding a further injury or maybe had lost it somehow on the mental side. I tip my cap to him today... great start... and if he is like the GOOD Davies ... (the non first month Davies), that would be HUGE!!!! Lets get this game, and this series.
  8. I sure hope so. Tons of talent there. I think he just needs to get out of his own head. I've hated his approach all season. I agree it was one at bat. But that and the one vs the Nats, his approach looks about the same as it did before. Not really a hot take as much as it's a body of work this year take. LOL. I'm disappointed he didn't at least maintain close to last year, would have been a nice help when we were really struggling in July. If if's and buts were candy and nuts...
  9. Francisco Rodriguez, and 4 others who needed legal advice! in addition to Yovani... likely Braun.... theres 3 haha
  10. Hey fellas been busy week and late to the party again today... but are we only allowed to score in one inning per game? And then have to bribe the baseball gods for another inning of scoring here and there - this week has felt absolutely brutal in those regards !
  11. Late to the party here, but what if they see him as a hybrid long man... a piggyback of sorts for when a starter clearly doesn't have it, you bring in our pseudo pen / starter, Matt Harvey? That sort of usage would be good, because it's somebody who can pick up innings, and possibly effectively!
  12. This is a good move, good for the team, and for the fan base. It not only shows that there needs to be results, but holding guys accountable for being not very good. Sure, the plug maybe should have been pulled (short or long term) sooner in some cases this year, but at least this management team releases and demotes players who fully deserve it.
  13. I created this thread with the idea of discussing the bullpen management, and all that fun stuff. And we have done just that. I appreciate an honest conversation, not a full nonsense mud slinging match. I really wanted to know what people thought about his styling and his usage, and come to find out its not as pitchfork and torch mentality as the IGT's have been lol. As a long time fan, I just want for once, to have a fun postseason. Which as Brewer fans know, that means a lot of ledges talked off of, and heartbreak is usually immanent. Alas I remain hopeful , and just want every decision to be made correctly. I know that's not possible but that is what we all want... and leads to healthy venting. Makes us fanatics or in short, fans. Appreciate you fellas humoring me !
  14. Postseason Eligibility Definition Per Major League Baseball's collective bargaining agreement, players must meet certain criteria in order to be eligible for postseason play. Players must be on the 40-man roster, the 60-day disabled list or the bereavement/family medical emergency list as of midnight ET on Aug. 31 to be eligible for their respective clubs' postseason rosters. Consequently, players that are acquired via September trades or signed as free agents in September are ineligible for postseason play. Clubs can petition the Commissioner's Office to add any player that was not on the 40-man roster as of Aug. 31 -- provided the player was in the organization on Aug. 31 and is replacing a player who has spent at least 60 days on the 60-day disabled list. The Royals were able to use this tactic to add Brandon Finnegan to their roster during the 2014 postseason, despite the fact that Finnegan was not on the 40-man roster as of Aug. 31. Additionally, all players who have served part of a suspension for performance-enhancing drugs in a given season are ineligible for postseason play that year.
  15. The Brewers also got hosed on the Gary Sheffield trade. He did pretty well after the Brewers traded him. Although Matt Mieske did have a sweet mustache. The trade that pissed me off was the Greg Vaughn trade. I loved me some Greg Vaughn. Vaughn's Valley. I remember a game as a kid where it was raining out and he was up. He hits one really hard, about halfway up the bleachers, and nearly the same time as a bolt of lightning out beyond the bleachers. Was one of the coolest things I ever saw in person. Domingo's power loss this year is strange to say the least. Nice to see him getting the stroke going a bit, even if it is at CS. He would be a huge September add if he's any good at all!
  16. I understand everyone's points from the most upset to the most supportive of CC. He's not a BAD manager by any stretch. I just wonder how much some moves have cost us. That Cubs game does stand out for me also. That was a head scratching move. Between that, and the StL game one, I think with those both being losses that completely compounded the thoughts many of us had. I know for me it clouded any good he did prior. Of course we are still in the race, and it's a jumbled race at the top in the NL. I just hope he makes sense and doesn't let JJ and Hader waste away mostly unused as we slide down the standings page further and further. It's go time now. Which STL game are you talking about? On Friday, Peralta lost the game in the 3rd inning essentially. On Saturday, the Brewers were behind 0-3 going into the 8th. They scored 2 runs. It was 2-3 and he left Lyles out there to the "OMG HADER/JEFFRESS HAVEN'T PITCHED IN 10 DAYS" Kato Kaelin and twitter mob tweets. Well, we got shut out in the 9th. So it was in hindsight the correct decision in all likelihood. I was busy over the weekend so didn't really watch much of the games, only followed here and there so is there something that I missed? The first was the claw back within one game where Peralta gave up 3 early then held serve. That was the Hader JJ game. I also believe he should have went to them to hold it and see where the chips fall down one in the 9th. It is a different dynamic being down 1 or 3. Who knows either way. The 2nd game was the Miley game where CC got tossed right away.
