  1. I agree. Where the heck did last years Arcia go and Santana’s power? Did they work out together or go out on boats all winter like the NY Giants did? Two of the more surprising fall offs in recent Brewers memory. Not related to being hurt .
  2. Biggest issue I have with this trade is my brain keeps saying shoop. Def not scope. It’s a brain-tying name for sure.
  3. If you're swinging with your eyes closed it doesn't matter if the pitcher is throwing left-handed or right-handed... Somebody said something about him not able to hit a beach ball. I would like to see what he would do with a beach ball. I’d probably put contact possibility at about 25% max. Lol I really think one of us could swing and look as bad as he had most of this year at the plate.

  5. Thanks. I wish Quick Pitch could come on earlier when I wasn't half baked, half asleep. But now I remember it was you guys that played the Bucs and won a toughie, 1-0. Did I dream it or did Caine make another insane catch at the wall to save the game? ... also thought this:
  6. The Brewers are 14-5 combined vs. Atlanta, Colorado, Arizona, and LA. Games in hand. Tiebreakers. Etc are all nice to have!
  7. From what I understand - and in the simplest way: Player A placed on waivers. Teams have 2 days to place a claim. If one team claims Player A, that is the team that the player's team can deal with, let the player go to, or pull back. If Player A clears with no claims, Player A can be dealt to ANY MLB team with no restrictions. If multiple teams claim Player A, the team with the lowest record in that league would get first crack, followed by the lowest in the opposite league. (the league the player is in gets "first priority") Player A's team has 3 choices - pull player back, work out a deal with the worst record claim (or anyone if nobody claims), or just let the player go and all salary goes with the player to the claiming team Hope that makes some sense. I think I have it correct lol.
  8. Salad man likely. Arcia had one good game but is again back to looking like a pee wee player at the dish. I think Schoop goes to short and Arcia becomes a late inning replacement where Schoop slides to 2b in late innings.
  9. He is beginning to feel like that guy that wasn’t going to make the roster out of spring training. But slumps happen, hopefully he can figure it out and at least be a solid bench bat for us if nothing else. This is exactly why we will be happy to have the extra bats. We always can play the hot hand!
  10. He knew he was getting that one. Smacked the pocket of the glove and everything just before . That was so smooth. He unlike Bellinger tonight - gets amazing jumps to the ball. So fun to watch.
  11. I remember part of this forum thinking he was the backbone of the trade for some odd reason even though it was really clear he was the throw in at the time. So who was the backbone? That was a weird trade that makes about as much sense to me now as it did then. I hate that I can admit to watching that on TV and being excited at the time. Oh my. How far we have come.
  12. Two hot takes. We did very well getting what we got for what we spent. The first description of Ortiz is husky. Ruben. Quevedo. I wish we got a starter but honestly we did ok!
  13. I’m beginning to think you are Eric Sogard, rick lol. Kidding aside... Villar wore out his welcome with CC and he just didn’t trust him or give him the leash he needed. I really think he is a Carlos Gomez waiting to happen. If the same thing happens with him , he will burst out in Baltimore (Gomez was with Mets, then Twins before breaking out here). And everyone will say DS is a nut job etc... but we all know, he would not succeed here in this current time structure. Ortiz is so so, conditioning concerns are enough for me to worry he would be he next Ruben Quevedo. Carmona, May be a good player in the long run but still has a lot of developing to do. All that said - Schoop - if he produces how he has recently and like last year, over the next year and a half, I think we will be very happy. And when he hits the game winning home run in the bottom of the 9th of the wild card game , y’all will celebrate this day for a long while lol. It’s not a huge overpay. It has the chance of being a Brewers win. But won’t b a glaring loss I don’t believe! Good outside the box work DS!
  14. I wanted Archer, but not for that price tag. It does boggle my mind a little that Pittsburgh seems to be in the old Brewers mold of either being bad or close to good but make silly choices that hurts them in the long run. Here’s hoping this continues that !
  15. Our offense... is serious business now. I like it (pending the results of the send).
  16. I am hitting refresh way too much here. This is worse than a drug... i hope there is some take away today lol for my sanity
  17. Agreed 100%. The silver lining is that between this and Newcomb, it's pushing Hader into the background. Pretty soon every team will have someone to boo. I agree. Lots of these kids - remember - were star athletes in high school... so they were "invincible" in their communities and schools. Wouldn't be surprised to see much more of this surfacing. It doesn't make it ok - i want to be clear on that - but there is a big difference between a 17 year old and a 27 year old. Or there should be anyhow!
  18. Certainly has been more effective in recent seasons. Of the rentals out there, he might be the best one left. But that isn't saying much. I doubt he takes Miley's rotation spot, though. Wouldn't surprise me if they shifted Peralta to the pen. You want to tweet that it's done or should I handle this one?
  19. Barf. I mean why? What's the point? Gio > Wade Miley And not close. Right?
  20. As stated in the Nationals thread. If the price is right. Sign me up. He's a nice arm.
  21. I like it. If the price is right. He could be a nice stretch run arm.
  22. For some reason Wade Miley reminds me of Doug Jones when we had him as a closer. It was fun, it was always terrifying, and yet you still had no clue how he got positive results with what he was tossing up there. I agree with the perception we need a decent starter. But another bullpen addition might be the method as well. To not get SOME arm would be silly , I do believe.
  23. The problem here is that any of our guys (Davies when he returns, Chacin, Guerra, some of Peralta's starts) could also go 6 IP at those numbers if we were tanking like the White Sox. I'm fine with picking up a garbage player like him, but he's probably also going to go 5 IP a lot because we're trying to win. Who originally said Carlos Rondon. Because THAT my friends is the outside the box, control left, type of guy that DS would target. Much more than Shields who I think we have several of his type but actually performing better this year as well. I think if it's not a splash for a real nice starter, it may be a bullpen piece from say Detroit or Minnesota.
